I (not being an avid comic book reader) have just run into this in a forum i was looking at somewhere else. what is superman 1million? and he really powerful enough to probably go toe to toe with galactus?

speaking of which, does any1 have a good picture of superman when he became a herald of galactus in the fantasic four/superman crossover?

Looks like Supes spending a LOT of time inside the sun. Since he's powered by solar energy, that could theoretically make him one of the most powerful beings in the word. I've never heard of this, though I'd probably be interested in reading it if I could find a copy.

hrm. Didn't seem to keep the url. NBD, since it was a tripod page. The book in question is titled simply: "DC One Million"

DC One Million was a Summer crossover event where we got a glimpse of what some heroes legacies would look like if their series went to issue 1,000,000 (or in the cases of Martian Manhunter and Resurrection Man, what they'd look like themselves).

The basic plot was that the JLA descendants from the 1,000,000 era pulled the modern team into the future, for what initially looked like a trap, but was actually to aid in the "second coming" of the original Superman (and to stop the big baddie - Solaris the renegade Sun).

It was Morrison's brainchild, so of course there were some wacky tangents, and a lot of the books had nothing to do with the main plot but were essentially "What if" type stories for futuristic versions of the characters.

It was kind of interesting, but mostly forgettable.

I don't know when they first came out (some point during the Morrison JLA run to be sure), but there is a trade that collects the main storyline.

There's the Superman of the time, who was really powerful, and Superman Prime (aka our Supes) who'd been soaking in the sun for MILLENIA. Oh, and he gets Kyle's GL ring too.

Fight Galactus? Yea, I could see it. He'd stomp Galactus if the big G was hungy.
