Hey Gang,

If you have any feedback on the magazine please leave it here.

Also, I still need help with the magazine. When many people help out it gets it out faster and makes it better. Writers MUST be well versed in the ENGLISH language and have fair grammar and a sense of punctuation. You must also have a WORKING knowledge of the game HEROCLIX.

I am also looking for people to help me with the PRICE GUIDE. It is an easy thing to do, but LONG and tedious.

Thanks again all.

Rock

Thanks for the new issue. It gives me something to occupy my mind while at work so I dont kick hole in the wall and light a small fire in the bathroom.

What all is involved with doing the price guide? I assume checking completed auctions on ebay is part of it.

The basics of it is you look up EACH individual piece, you then compare Completed auctions and BUY it now prices and average them out to get a set price.

The Le here (pronounced Tay Lee). I did the layout for Critical Hit #3.

Rock and the rest of the crew did a fantastic job on the write up (I also wrote the venom review).

I hope you all enjoy issue #3 as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you all.

;)

Actually, I have alot of good ideas that could be used as a "scenario" article each month. Each month explain the rules and how it works, and what kind of teams would work best with it. LMK what the timeframe is for writing and how it works. Really enjoyed issue #3, and look forward to going back and reading the first two. Thanks again.

Hey all,

I have finished sending out all subscriptions. I have found that 2% of the e-mails I send out are being failed to be deliverd. Not bad for 1200 e-mails sent. If you did not get a copy just PM me your email and let me know.

First off, I love the magazine and really appreciate ALL the hard work all of you guys do. I really enjoyed the FIXCLIX 001 by: TERRANCE ALLISON. I never thought about using a medium guitar pick to open the dial. Sure beats using my pocket knife and praying to God I don’t hurt myself or the dial. Just wanted to give you guys a little pat on the back for this great magazine you do. Keep up the good work and thanks. ;)

Well, as a guy with ALOT of free time to work on the PC, I'd be down to write something for you guys monthly.

The question is, however, what do you need? I'm sure we could all sit here and pitch you a hundred ideas apiece, but as the guy in charge, the decision and direction of your project is, ultimately, up to you. So, aside from the price guide (which I would be terrible with... not much of a financial-type), I would ask how I could pitch in and help the team?

If you have any ideas, please feel free to send a PM my way and I'll be more than happy to work something out with you. In the mean time, keep up the great work.

Guys and gals, when asking for a subscription, if you don't give me your email address I can not send you anything.

Please make sure your mailbox has enough storage space for the magazine it is a LARGE document. TOO many emails being sent back because the document exceeds maximum storage piece. This is a big file guys and if you are saving every message from Betty lou and skipper too then you may not have enough room to receive it.

Another great issue. :) Thanks again, I love this mag!

One tiny gripe, in the cheese section this month there is a team that has Emerald Empress with 2 Nova Blasts on her. That isn't legal is it?

Yeah, I was wondering about those Nova Blasts too.

echopryme
03/21/2006, 17:29
That's not right. It can't be. MAYBE I could see the logic if she had 2 arrows, but there is no way she can double up on Nova Blast. And even if she could, you'd land her on her next to last click, neutering a really good figure in the process.

But if I'm wrong... LE Phoenix can do 10 damage on her last click.

echopryme
03/21/2006, 17:37
Actually, scratch that....

U Brainiac can do 10 on his first, wait a turn and do 5 after that, push and do 4, then wait a turn and do 8.

27 clicks of damage in 6 turns.

(edit)

I think he meant that she'd use one, and then the other, at which point she'd do 7 unavoidable damage, not 8. Sort of an Emerald Empress as a double bomb kinda thing.

You can't even do a double bombing. You cannot put two of the same feat card on a fig.

Even so, great mag rock! They just keep getting better. :)

How close to publishing time does this need to be done (in order to get up-to-date prices), and when is your publishing deadline each month.

I'm not making any promises, just yet, but I might be able to help with part of the price list.

Rock & Crew! You guys do not dissappoint! The 3rd issue is what the HC community needs. Right on the money! Fun teams, great reviews and some insight into the game. I can only hope the quality and content continue to improve with each issue.

I really enjoyed the article on making a "competitive" team using The Leader. I hope this is a regular feature for the 'zine. Now the challenge, make a useful team with Parasite! However, subsituting Parasite for the Leader would not be horrible.

Maybe an article on the rules of Fellowship (Do's and Don'ts) would be useful in upcoming issues.

(I sent Rock a PM requesting that I be put on the list after the first issue came out, but I never got a response. It might have been blocked by my email service. Fortunately, I was able to download Issues 2 and 3 which ibeatdrew was nice enough to post on his site.)

The Empress team should be TWO Empress's with a Nova Blast on each one.

The Empress team should be TWO Empress's with a Nova Blast on each one.

Thanks for the clarification, Rock. I'm enjoying the magazine, but you might want to have the writer of Here Comes the Cheese give his stuff a second read before submission. The typo this month is gonna confuse a lot of less experienced players into thinking that Feats are stackable. Similarly, last month's Cheese article about the GL Tank stated that a FF Hawkeye who T-bolted to GL TA could carry 12 figs. That, of course, is incorrect - the wording of the TA specifically sets the limit at 8 characters.

Not tyring to nitpick, since most of the issues have looked good. I just want to make sure that the mag isn't giving less experienced players the wrong info, especially when it comes to "cheese" teams. Playing those types of teams can cause some serious frustration to some opponents anyway - but that negativity easily doubles if their opponent get the impression they're trying to bend the rules!

I actually see what happened. This was not the writers fault at all (which would be me :) ) But anyways when being converted to PDF something got lost in translation. It originally looked like this

Emerald Empress Experienced (Nova Blast) x2

Once converted it looked like this

Emerald Empress Experienced
(Nova Blast) x2

SO just a conversion error that was missed. Though if you read the article you will see that it talks about using two Empress's seeing as the other alternate team is Rookie Superman and Polaris.

Great job, everyone! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who looks at the pictures too. What's crazy is, when you post a picture of the clix you are talkin' about it makes your statement stand out. I fixed a Silver Surfer (LE) using the method you showed when fixing the Clayface clix. You all seem to be hitting on all the hot button topics!

All in all, great job, and congrats on your success. By the way, the custom clix section is HOT! How do I get in contact with Mike the modder? Where does he take requests? PM me his email, or ebay store, if he has one. That guy is talented!

Keep up the good work!

Here is a good suggestion for an article...."Opening strategies" or "Breaking down the first 3-4 moves."

In the first cheese team you mention the use of hydra to ehance your attack value with pulse wave. That cant work as Pulse Wave ingnores all team abilitites, powers and feats. Since the hydra character needs to be adjacent to Emerald Empress to take advantage of the ta that character would be in the blast radius (also mentioned) SS ta would still work though.

rock810
03/23/2006, 16:25
The +1 is added to the attack before the attack is made. Pulse wave IGNORES team abilities, but it does not say that team abilities can not be used.

might wanna check out http://www.ourmedia.org as a place to host a download - it's a free service, in association with the Creative Commons and the Internet Archive, that's specifically designed to provide free hosting space for DIY publications like this one. That way it wouldn't matter if people could receive it via email or not. It would also create a place to distribute back issues for those so inclined.

Awsome. Just Awsome. I just made a Sucide squad team thanks to your article. I am using the Sentry t-bolted to SS. He is now the Void. I will be using the stratagy you described and am fielding 9 pogs on this team. May be a little over kill but then again it is the Void.

Keep up the good work Rock and crew. Can't wait for your next issue.

I love your mag, and am looking forward to more. It is so greatly done. I just got done reading issue 3 ( my first time reading any of them) and I was totally blown away. I am a die hard clix-fan and am constantly looking for reading material that I can sink my thoughts into. Critical Hit has done just that. All those other games(Yugioh, Magic,Warhammer 40 K, etc) have all sorts of mags. Us clixsters can only hope that Wizard publishes a page pertaining to clix.
Just reading Critical Hit has helped me build a better team that I am dying to play. I now believe that Suicide Squad is one of the best neglected but shouldn't be neglected TAs. And your Custom Click sections make me want to better my own custom clix. Micheal De La Paz is awesome. I could go on and on about how great this mag is but I know you are probably hard at work on the next issue and I should waste your time making you read more compliments. I just want to say thanks and keep up the GREAT work. I'll keep reading if you keep writing. Thanks again, Lantern Supreme CLIX RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tim P would be me! :) Thanks for your thanks, it is very much appreciated. I always thought Anaconda was a very underrated piece. :) Unfortunately, I was busy this month and got my article in a little late so it wasn't able to show up, but I believe it should be in the next issue....it features Sub-Mariner. :) Glad to know my last one was read and enjoyed.

Great job to everyone who worked on this issue and thanks to all the supporters! :)
