Wizkids has announced, and HCREALMS hosts a majority of the Heroclix and gaming community. Let's see what you all would vote for before the official vote goes up.

Astro City for sheer overwhelming variety
Metal Men for goofy, fun
BPRD because BPRD is cool
Grendel, sadly, I know too little, but what I dod know is pretty cool. Just not BPRD cool
2099 becauise I was never impressed with more amoral murderous anti-heroes and villains

I went Astro City cause it would give us more high end pieces.

03/25/2006, 12:16
B.P.R.D. all the way. Ever since I saw Hellboy, I wanted Abe Sapien and Liz Sherman, plus an improved HB.

2099 is a close second.

Gonna come down to Astro City vs. BPRD. I'm hoping it's the former. *lots* of interesting possibilities for dials and characters there. (I really want Confessor, Toybox, and Steeljack.)

Y'know, the more I think about it, the more I think they could almost pull off a complete Astro City expansion. Like, a full one. Huh.

Astro City all the way! Confessor (both hidden and revealed...), Furst/ First Family, Crackerjack, Silver Agent, Honor Guard (Quarrel, N-Forcer, Samaritan) And those are just a sampling of the good guys. The list could go on and on and on...

Marvel 2099 has 26 votes?! Good Gravy!
Metal Men belong in a DC set!
BPRD - distant second for me.
Grendel - only know that the character(s) wore black and white suits...not interested.

I agree Astro City would have the most variety and cool and interesting dials and characters. I really hope they win, because they don't stand a snowballs chance in hell of ever being made without these collector's sets.

BPRD = yeah would be cool, but we already have some of those made, and you can only choose one

Grendel = never heard of it, and I get the feeling a lot of people are like me so it won't get many votes.

Astro City = Yeah this has my vote. It's a one of a kind chance to get something very unique and special to the Heroclix community.

Metal Men = too obscure for people to care whether these get made or not.

2099 = as much as I love the idea, the fact is we know its possible for these to come up in future marvel sets since Spider-Man 2099 has been made. Therefore, I think it's better to wait on this and give the one that has no chance of coming up in a future set which is one of the indy nominees. And of the Indy nominees, the one that stands out the most is Astro City.

03/25/2006, 14:15
I'm shocked that Astro City is losing to B.U.R.P. Hellboy is popular, but I had no idea. Astro City is only one of the best writen/drawn/conceived comics ever made. Granted, it is slow to come out, and it had one so-so arc, but come on people! Don't you want a Samaritan and Cracker Jack?

I was on the fence about the putting my vote behind the Metal Men, but not anymore. I can see now that this is a two party system, and I'm not going to cast my vote for a third party candidate with no chance of winning. Also, I really want a Confessor.

Spook
03/25/2006, 14:19
Heck, no I just realised that 2099 is also beating Astro City. I'm sorry I made any joke about Hellboy, because I would sure rather have B.P.R.D. than 2099.

2099 Wolverine.

princodark
03/25/2006, 15:25
Astro City all the way. Too many good characters to NOT vote for it.

B.P.R.D. is kewl, but we've already got some characters.

2099 has promise, but they could very easily come up in future Marvel sets.

Metal Men, same as 2099 just for DC.

Grendel, never heard of it.

Looks like BPRD (which I voted for) and 2099 are gonna be close.

Is there any way to add the "losers" from the last poll to this one? Runaways, Freedom Fighters, and 1602?

kikerus27
03/25/2006, 15:44
Astro City all the way! As a comic book narrative fan, I'll vote to the choice with the best writing.
After that, I'll vote:

BPRD
Metal Men
2099
Grendel

Not very sure about who Grendel is, MM and 2099 may be part of future Marvel/DC regular sets. If we vote 2099 now, which Hulk and X-Men will WK make next? The movie ones?

proteus
03/25/2006, 15:47
The thing is I have no interest in any of the canidates but there are people who've quit the game and still hold onto the game hoping for more Indy. City of Villians/Heroes while very cool is not a true "Indy" set. It's a video game. DC and Marvel have a lot of unique spots that they can, both fill and impress us by using some unique spots for the other canidates.

I just wish another Indy expasion is in the works with all of the collectors set canidates we've benn seeing.

always happy to see indy sets in these polls.

surprised at the amount of support for 2099.... other than doom and spidey, i honestly can't remember any of the characters.

Granted I am a diehard DC comics/Heroclix fan and would like to have the Metal Men since there from the DC universe, or even pick the Freedom Fighters from the first voting list (Original team only). But I am no fool and I think this would be a very close race between Marvel's 2099 and BPRD.

As far as picking one of them that would be very hard. I liked some of the 2099 stories when they came out and we already have Spiderman from that era. But the comics were never that successful. I think X-men 2099 lasted 24 issues(?) and that was the longest running title from that time(2099). None of the others lasted 12 issues I believe.

From BPRD I would love to see Liz and Abe; possibly the man who ran the BPRD before dying in the movie and the agent who was the go between (Dont remember there names). Then maybe the Nazi frankenstein dude and the woman with him. I dont read the Hellboy comic regular basis so I'm not sure who else you would add in.

As far as Astro City and Grendel goes, I dont know anything about either of them. When I look at there ads in the Prevues magizine before ordering my comics I normally pass them by since there not interesting to me. So, Sorry to all you Astro City & Grendel fans.

I just dont see any Indyclix sets winning out. There one set flopped big time when it came out and Wizkids attempt to reintroduce Indy figs isn't going very well. The only indy collector sets I think that would have a chance would be ones based on the WildC.A.T.S team with all the members when it was a image comic, a Spawn based set, but I dont see McFarlane letting that be made, or a Lady Death set from when she first came out with her being all powerful. Those are the only three versions of indyclix sets that I would jump at getting.

When Wenesday comes, as of right now I'm going to pick the DC Metal Men 1st with 2099 2nd and BPRD 3rd. But I do think its going to be a Marvel set that wins this time. DC has two sets this year and indy has one, thats why I think it will be Marvel.

I Am The Game

I'm glad this poll is up before the real deal, my votes for Metal Men and Astro City would have been wasted. I'm voting BPRD first. At least this way, we get to finish off an existing team.

There are plenty of good ideas for Marvel clickies, but 2099, Runaways and 1602 aren't it. Vote 2099 last, or the Marvel monkeys will push it through.

B.P.R.D.

Abe, Liz, Roger, and a new Hellboy plus a couple of Nazi badguys

My personal feeling about 2099 is this: we've already gotten the flagship 2099 character (Spidey), leaving us with only 2 big names (Doom and Hulk). After those 2 you have no name new X-men characters, Punisher and Ravisher 2099 and that's pretty much it.

Abe Sapien all the way! BPRD 4 life!

03/26/2006, 08:44
2099 as long as it's from the actual line and not the recent one shots.

I'd like to see Ghost Rider as a transporter with Charge and Superstrength.

The Punisher also as a transporter with some Running Shot and double arrow Explosion.

Doom is an absolute must, as he crazily became the hero of a world gone horribly wrong. Some RCE and Outwit with a couple clicks of Invulnerable.

Hulk with Charge, but make a more consistant dial instead of ramping him up. (Always hated the tongue though. LOL!)

I'd like to see at least 4 X-Men. Shakti foremost, along with Bloodwing?, Meanstreak, and the albino amazon chick.

Then since the Fantastic Four were themselves, don't make any of them as figs but give them a 2099 team Feat card.

Because it's such a rough and tumble world, if I made a 2099 team ability, it would be Toughness. Plus, since this would be a limited set, that would free up the dial for other powers.

I'm pretty familiar with all of the choices for Collector's Sets, and I'm definitely going to have to go Astro City. Like some replies have said, its the ONLY way we'll ever get it. And if BPRD doesn't win now, its a lock to return for another vote. I don't think Grendel will have enough mainstream support, and personally Metal men nor any of the 2099 comics were especially groundbreaking. Astro's got 'em beat.

I'm glad this poll is up before the real deal, my votes for Metal Men and Astro City would have been wasted. I'm voting BPRD first.

But the buzz here before the voting last time showed no indication Invincible had a chance of winning. Vote with whatever rationale you like, but I'm not convinced (yet) that the Realms is going to be an accurate predicter in these things.

ohoni
03/26/2006, 13:42
Invincible didn't have a chance of winning, at least not on Heroclix fans alone. Invincible only won because Scott Kutz at PVP is a friend of Kirkman's, and Scott funs a web page with thousands of times more pageviews per day than any HC page, and most of those pageviews are by devoted fans who do whatever he wants (within reason), so it was as easy for them to sweep the election as it would be to get pro-US people voted in in Iraq if Americans were allowed to vote in their elections over the Internet.

None of the "dark horse" candidates in this poll have that kind of popular fanbase.

Definitely BPRD, though Grendel was also quite tempting.

Totally agree. I think it's the only way we'll get 'em, and I'd really love to have them in clix form (Alloy is a pale shadow of the true Metal Men ;)). Of course, I wanted Freedom Fighters as well. DC just doesn't get enough sets.

I'm picking BPRD second. More Indy would be cool (yeah I know they get even less love than DC, but frankly I don't have a problem with that).

I don't care about the others, except I'm voting 2099 last. I'd really hate to see a Collector's Set spent on them. And I actually read the various 2099 comics way back when they were released. :P

I want Punisher 2099 he will be like "Punisher kills the Marvel Universe" with all those futuristic weapons! He would be sooo awesome. Would there be a 2099 TA?

Doom went to at least #43 and Spider-Man at least #46, thats not counting the special oneshots, and crossovers.

Spider-Man, X-Men and Doom were the most popular. So I don't know who or how they would choose to make. X-Men are a team... I just hope they aren't considering making Ravage... that was bad beyond belief.

There is no Wolverine 2099... though he should be alive, he never showed up in the comics, though there were references to other present day X-Men dying...

MagicMaster
03/27/2006, 09:46
My first choice would be for Astro City but a close second is the Metal Men.

I wouldn't mind having the BPRD cast, so I'll vote for that third.

Grendel? As is John Gardener's existential novel about the Beowulf villian? No thanks. If we let this set go through, what kind of trash would Wizkids try to push on us in the future? Crime and Punishment Cilx? Waiting for Godot Clix? Ugh! I think I'll pass.

TooSweet
03/27/2006, 11:36
My first choice is Astro City. Great series and lots to choose from. My favorite mmorpg City of Heroes/Villains resembles this comic series the most also. Easy pick for me. If they come up with this set, I'll try to construct a map or two to make it look just like the comics. statues and all.

Second for me would be Metal Men followed by Grendel. Then BPRD and 2099. Really, with all these choices you can't loose.

One thing I'd like to point out to the folks voting for 2099 for the Hulk 2099 that every set has a Hulk in it, at least on of the variants they could do in the Hulk space is Hulk 2099 so you don't need to vote for that set for that character. vote for Astrocity instead. :)

Manchine
03/27/2006, 12:33
Its a tough choice of Astro City or 2099. Both of them are pretty good choices. After that it would be Grendal.

BPRD and Metal Men have nothing I want. Although I would vote for BPRD over Metal Men. Only ones I wouldnt buy is Metal Men.

I am really bummed to see that 2099 is actually winning. The age of some of the realmers here is pretty telling if they look back and actually like that run of comics. I admit, I really liked Spidey 2099.....for about 12 issues or so. And Hulk 2099? Nice tongue.... X-men 2099? O.k. for a bit, then.....meh. I'm not insulting readers of those series. I just think it is a somewhat weak choice for Heroclix.

The quality of some of the other choices, both character wise and possible dial designs, is much more interesting than 2099. My .2$

lchestnut81
03/27/2006, 12:56
I only know about the 2099 people. They could easily round out the set with a Doom 2099, Hulk, and 5 members of the X-Men 2099. I think that would just about cover the major characters.

lensnart
03/27/2006, 12:57
2099? really? this is the only set that I wouldn't buy. Heck I wouldn't even take it for free.

It has to be Astro City and if you don't know about this universe do yourself a favour and go pick up one of the trades. It is Busiek writing like he was Alan Moore. It will make you wonder why he isn't this great on his other projects, he is good on other things, but on Astro City he is great.

You guys do realize this is just a pre-emptive poll that has NOTHING to do with the actual poll. To tell the truth it is kind of juevenile and disrespectful to not respect someone else's choice. I voted Astro City, mainly because you'd have a very interesting mix of characters to choose from. I'd've liked to have seen Doom Patrol as one of the choices. As much as I love old school DC, I don't think that Metal Men has enough variety as a team to merit a collectors' set (that is simply an opinion, mind you.) The fact that Marvel 2099 seems to be ahead is a bit of a surprise, given that those titles flopped back in the day (though the Spidey 2099 figure was pretty cool.)

Anyhow, seems like the Marvel fans are rallying. It'll be interesting to see how the actual voting goes.

On second thought, put me down for "The Challenge of the Superfriends" set. im against Marvel 2099 for 2 reasons

1. Marvel have 2 main sets a year and dont need a collector set

2. we already had spiderman 2099 and im sure there is a good chance of getting more of these characters in future sets.

Wow, this doesn't bode well for Astro City.

For those folks who aren't voting for Astro City because you haven't read it, do yourselves a big-time favor and go find a trade paperback of it (or two or three), and read it. Both because uninformed votes are never a good thing, and also I'm pushing for Astro City to win. ;) Really, if you haven't read any of the titles on the poll, go find a trade of it and read up. And then vote for Astro City. Striving for non-partisan comic diversity is always good.

Hey Wizkids, please please PLEASE try and make a Collector Set down the road based on Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew! :p

The reason is I highly doubt these types of figures will ever make it into a regular expansion, and who wouldn't want to pit Pig Iron against Superman?

Mr. Pilkington
03/28/2006, 13:07
I had to go with Grendel. I want Hunter Rose, Argent the Wolf, Eppy Thacher, Pellon Cross, Grendel Prime (from War Child, not from the Batman cross-overs), Susan Veraghen and maybe a Red Devil guard or two. Although I'd want more than just a couple Red Devils. Prime would eat a pair of them. I hate that so few people know about Grendel. I understand how the Astro City voters feel (I myself have just never gotten around to reading Astro City). I'd like to have a Grendel TA that was permanent Willpower. Plus, getting Grendel clix could open the door for Mage clix. Mmmm.

I'd also love to have more B.P.R.D. clix. I'm reading that a lot of folks here seem to just have experience with the Hellboy movie. I'm a full-bore Hellboy fan, so my wish list looks like this: Abe, Liz, Roger, Johann, Baba Yaga, a frog creature, and a Kriegaffe plus Von Klempt (which would be a bit similar to M. Mallah and the Brain, so there's hope).

I'd love to have the Metal Men, and I guess a collector set would be the best fit. I've wanted Heroclix to add another ring color (say green) that indicated a figure that would not have an REV but would also not be on Unique rarity. The alien Green Lanterns would have worked well for that, as would the Metal Men, but the precedent has been set on the alien GLC set. But the chance for B.P.R.D. or Grendel wins for me over Metal Men.

As I said on Astro City, I haven't read it. I'm sure it is a good book, but I only have so much budget. I'll eventually pick some up and probably like it a lot.

2099 does not need to be done in my opinion. I would probably maim someone for a good Doom 2099 clickie, but I really don't need the others. Spidey as a unique was fine. I would have liked Doom as a 2099 unique in the new set given that it is villain-centric, but what can you do? And a 2099 Hulk would be nice flavor to get yet another Hulk variant into a set.

Only problem is once I give my support to my number one choice I have to put another choice into the slot right behind it in terms of "second choice". When my second choice would be none of the above; I'd rather a second rating tier; kind of like first votes "who would you like to see" -numbered 1-5, and then "likelyhood to buy" with a vote of 1-5 but any set could get 1's or 5's. And my vote would then go: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and group 2 1, 5, 5, 5, 5 where 1 is high and 5 is low.

Really, if you haven't read any of the titles on the poll, go find a trade of it and read up. And then vote for Astro City. Striving for non-partisan comic diversity is always good.

Eh, if people haven't read it people haven't read it. That's the problem with putting Indy on the poll, because while some people LOVE a certain title, most people are barely aware it exists, and therefore while a few people will be REALLY happy, most people will either be pissed, or not care at all. Like, for example, I'd love to see Gold Digger clix, and they'd be really great and playable, but I accept that that's not going to happen because Fred's fanbase is loyal, but fairly small, so why should WK do that? There's a very good reason that Heroclix plays to the majority.

I could go for old school GD clix. Give me leprechaun ninjas and a Lich King. But yes, I agree with your assessment. Grendel is a great example. Next year is the comic's 25th anniversary, but it has *always* been an Indy title. Sure, it has fans, but not enough of a base to win a popularity contest with most Marvel or DC titles. I'd *like* to think it could beat 2099, but there are going to be a lot more people who know none of the comics and will vote Marvel just on the chance of a Hulk or a Wolverine.

These are those moments that I wish heroclix fans used intelligence over fanboyish reactions. Sure, initial response is to vote for your favorite, then start a goofy "Vote fill-in-the-blank" thread, which does nothing for getting actual votes. If we approached this from a sense of what would be good for the game, we could avoid the fiasco of the last vote, which got us "Invincible."

Look at each option and see what would actually make a future appearance in what set.

BPRD = This is a fan favorite, to be sure, and there are a number of characters that haven't been made yet from that universe. It's an Indy title, and since we now have been waiting years for a future set, it should get some support

Grendel = When I saw this was a candidate, I was amazed. This character that's right, a character, shouldn't drive a future collectors set. It would be the same as BPRD being based solely on a Hellboy expansion. Or to give us the option of a "Goon" collectors set, with very little support cast to fill 8 figures in the set. I don't honestly see the appeal for 8 or so figures to be made in an expansion based on this solo character's book.

Astro City = Another incredibly good Indy books. There is a great variety of characters. I could see this being a great addition to the game, IF DONE RIGHT.

Metal Men = Even as a DC fan, I have to say Metal Men have zero chance of getting made in any form, much less as a collectors set. With Alloy being a part of the Giants set, Metal Men fans should take that as their moment of glory. Nice to see Wizkids remembering to include a DC option, but this is one that doesn't qualify as a good choice.

2099 = When I saw Spiderman 2099 last year, I was completely stoked. I thought this would be a great way for Marvel sets to include redo figures without being actual remakes. But, in the end, did the 2099 series really do well enough to warrant a collectors set? Since the door has been open for 2099 figures in regular boosters, I would say they should continue to add 2099 figures to the game that way, and use the collectors set to flesh out areas that haven't seen much/if anything at all.

Based on that, I would recommend folks voting for either BPRD or Astro City. Don't go all a ga-ga over a Marvel collectors set that could easily be done in boosters, and would recommend against wasting a vote on obscure character or characters like Grendel and Metal Men.

We WILL see 2099 figures from time to time (probably as Uniques) in future Marvel sets. WK gave us Spidey 2099 and they will eventually need a Hulk or Doom varient for a Unique slot and turn to 2099 again. Voting for 2099 to get it's own collector set is just greedy. We WILL get those characters in Clix form. It's just a matter of time.

I disagree with anyone who says we won't ever get Metal Men in a future DC set. Granted, we only get one DC set a year but Clix is going strong and I don't think the Metal Men are so far down the A/B/C-level character list as to have no shot of getting made.

So I urge folks to vote for any of the three other choices - Astroy City, BPRD or Grendel. If you already have a fave of those, good for you andf good luck. If not, borrow some of these books from your friends or check the local library. All would make interesting additions to Clix and have very little shot of ever being seen in Clix form otherwise.

That's what it comes down to - we all want more Clix! Don't vote for something just to have it a bit sooner, vote for something that will not get made otherwise.

I was thrilled Invincible won last time (anyone who cries the vote was tainted by non-Clix players is just bitter) and even happier that WK decided to make the second choice as well, the GLs. Though DC characters, they were obscure enough (Ch'P? Wow.) to warratn a Collector Set because we probably would see that dog GL or the others in future DC sets.

If, in some alternate universe, Indy comics were hugely popular along with DC while Marvel barely stayed in business, I would say vote 2099 all the way. But in the world we live in, more Clix is good. So vote for the sets that we simply will not see any other way.

As for me, it will be...
1. B.P.R.D.
2. Astro City
3. Grendel

Vote these three first/second/third in some order to increase the chances of us getting some original Clix and not just another Hulk, Doom or X-person.

I can't believe 2099 is going to beat out the Metal Men, let alone Astro City...

We've already got the best and brightest that defunct storyline has to offer, back in 'Fantastic Forces.' Unless they make Justice, I'm not interested...

I think this sort of thinking is at least partially responsible for the lack of a Freedom Fighters collectors set. The ideas that "They're going to be made eventually anyway." and "They deserve complete REV sets." as justifications for not voting for a set like Freedom Fighters or Metal Men is flawed logic. Bottom line - we don't know what figures are going to be in future sets. However, we DO know that figures are proposed for Collectors Sets because they AREN'T being considered for main sets (because WK told us this back when they first introduced the concept). Now, it's possible that if WK sees a lot of support for Metal Men or Freedom Fighters, they'll change their minds and put them in the queue for future sets, but at the time these groups are inserted into these polls, they're not in the queue. And we certainly shouldn't bank on that happening, IMO.

I'm voting Metal Men first, just like I voted Freedom Fighters first last time (and just like I'd vote Freedom Fighters first again if they put them in another poll...I want my Uncle Sam!). I understand that others want Indy sets, and that some may think that more figs of any sort just improve the game, but *I* don't want a bunch of random Indy titles (and I don't really agree that more is necessarily better, for reasons I won't bore you with here). If Indy sets are to be created, I think they should be 'fleshing out' Indy sets that are already out there, so we can actually field comic-themed Indy teams. Fill out BPRD more, give us more Witchblade characters, etc.

So I'm voting BPRD second.

I don't much care about the others, except I'm voting 2099 last. I care even less about them than I do incomplete Indy sets.

And FWIW I do read Indy titles (love Invincible and the Walking Dead in particular).

Keep a bag by the computer just in case. ;)

Just consider a vote for the Metal Men (my #2) a vote that says someone wants the figures guaranteed in 2006 rather than possibly in 2008 or 2009, the earliest they would be made in WK's one-DC-set-a-year schedule. 2099 figures could certainly be done before then, but not the Metal Men.

Nobody should get upset with anyone over who they vote on...I'm voting for 2099...why? Because those are the figures I want the most...

I don't care about the possibility of seeing those figures or the other set's figures when I make my decision...I just pick the ones I want to see the most...and who really has a right to fault me on that? :-P

You guys gotta realize that this vote won't come out the same on Wizkids if they do the same voting as last time...People who vote for one DC set are more likely to put the other DC set second and that will help boost the votes of each DC set...

I voted as follows:

Marvel 2099
(gotta get a Doom 2099... I don't even care who else is in the set!)

BRPD
(I would have made this my #1 choice, but I thought #2 was a good spot, because I knew it would be a popular pick... I already did alot of work on some excellent Mods, so I'm not rabid in my desire for these... just rapacious!)

Astro City
(never read it; don't know if I ever will or not. hear its a great read. I figure they'll go well with my City Of Heroes clix)

Grendal
(another I never read; though I've had it explained to me. Sounds cool, but do we really need MORE B.C.F. Indy Characters? Especially since there won't be that much variation between the respective Grendals?)

Metal Men
(ok; as a collector, this sounded great to me... but well; how great could they be? bunch of Plasticity Shape Changers with varied defense abilities and some SS here and there.... would they have their own TA? would it be enough to make it worth feilding a whole team of almost Identical robots?)

Overall, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another 2 for one deal like last time. 2099 being the winner; with so many votes for BRPD in second place that they decide to make them too.

this is so far off. I'm still excited about the GLC!

The vote WAS tainted. Anyone who claims otherwise is deluding themselves. What else do you call it when a non-Heroclix site diverts thousands of non-Heroclix players into a vote for a Heroclix product that they are highly unlikely to actually purchase? Now I like Invincible, and it was actually my second choice, so it's not like I'm hatin on them or anything, but they did steal that election, plain and simple. Could they have won without the shenanigans? Maybe, but we'll never know.

I can't believe how dumb people who don't like BRPD, Grendel, or Astro City would have to be to vote for a set of characters that they had no interest in ever seeing made.

I voted Metal Men, because I assume 2099 will get enough votes, and Metal Men will NEVER be made otherwise, while they've already made all the 2099 figures worth making. If I could have voted all the other choices 5th I would have, but I settled for voting them in reverse order of popularity.

It's not a given that we would see more 2099 clix. That's why I voted for them. I'm still waiting on more New Warriors to show up in clix....but I don't think that's going to happen to where i can field the whole team for quiet some time. When does the voting end anyway?

Lets talk about a few realities here. Many people voting on this are not our age, but the kids who play. The same who are the voters here on HCrealms, some are more prone to mass, or simple fanboyism. Now, I particularly don't mind this selection at all. However, this is how I think it will go.

1 & 2: This will be BPRD or Marvel 2099, at either or. Marvel, is all that is recognizable to some on there, and it has its real fans. BPRD, is popular in a sense but more because of the movie than the comic. Lets at least admit that. So, I think it will pretty much be down to these two, and I'm even going to give the slights odds in favor of 2099 simply because of people that will vote solely Marvel.

3. Astro City: Well, it has its fan base, however is not as recognized as either 2099 or BPRD so its at that disadvantage. I think some straight players may vote for it because it out of all of them has a real good chance for some good varied dials. As well as some real strong ones, and there are those that like nothing more than big wonking figs.

4: Metal Men: Simply, there are the fans that will ONLY buy, sell, trade, or play DC figs. They are going to get a slice of this pie no matter what. Might even get at least over Astro City. and heck, I was oddly amused with the Metal Men but thier obscurity should also be noted. But DC is DC....

5: Grendal: Least known story of the 5. This is in no way shape or form a critique of the actual comic. Just 2099 and Metal Men are recognized by thier respective companies alone. BPRD had a major movie. Now, between Astro City and Grendal? Same level, but Astro would produce more varied dials in my honest opinion. Where some around me have voiced they just worry Grendal would just become another blades claws frenzy.

I wish astro city would win the poll results. The characters are cool and for me another strong character, Samaritan, to confront superman v, I hope the dials are great. Besides we can get those other choices from other expansions that wizkids would make. Unlike Astro City Which will have a less chance of getting in, in an expansion. Aren't we tired of getting the same, old, remake of figs. Why not try new figs from different comic universe like Astro city. Variety is good and that makes things beautiful.
