View Full Version : Spiderman VS. Batman

I'm gonna side with Spiderman. He has a sixth sense warning him about danger. So I don't think Batman could sneak up on him. Spiderman may not be as good as a close combatant but he does have Super Strength. Batman is just an ordinary guy. What do you think? Oh, and don't give me your "He'd win cuz he's Batman" filth either. That is stupid.

If it were written by a DC writer, Batman would win. Marvel writer, Spider-Man would win. Not much else to say.

In the end, if two heroes fought, the Communists would win.

It is an interesting battle.
Spiderman has the upperhand in strength and speed, and the Spider Sense (That doesn't always work by the way.)
Batman has greater experience in fighting, strategy, toys, and I believe has a stronger will to survive.
If Batman knows who Spiderman is, and his strengths I believe Batman could pull out win in the right situations.
However, in an even battle I will give it to Spiderman.

I think Batman would win. Yes Spider-man sense warns him of impending danger but he's been hit several times either way even with this power. Batman is a genius. He would thouroughly research Spider-man before ever confronting him learning his entire fighting style and such. I mean in Superman Red Sun he already had everything set up to fight and kill superman. Even when he lost he made the last ditch effort to kill him. So even if Spider-man won, it would be a hollow victory.

And it has a history of a "new" Spider-Man vs Batman thread every 3 months or so.
Let me go with the typical Batman Vs. Response.
In the event of them two being plucked out of the marvel/dc time continuity with no chance to prepare.. Then Spidey would win.
If Batman had time to study up on spidey, he'd find things to get rid of that pesky spider sense and alll that, and beat the carp out of spidey.
I'm a marvel fan.. I am not afraid to say bats would win.. :P
Course Batman is one of the few awesome DC characters!

Dude, that's not not even the slightest bit amusing. But back to the battle,
Spiderman would own Bats, hands down. I mean, Spiderman could just beat the 5h1t out of Batman hand to hand. Or Spidy could just pounce with a dumpster for 6 damage, and kill bats...:P

Exhibit A: Spidey has trouble fighting Kraven, who is a baseline human in excellent physical shape with good fighting skills, and highly developed hunting skills, and an arsenal of various lethal weapons.
Exhibit B: Batman is a baseline human with highly developed fighting skills, is a master of shadows, and has an arsenal of non-lethal but highly effective gadgets.
Exhibit C: Batman would kick the #### out of Kraven.
Exhibit D: Spiderman is not Kraven.
Exhibit E: Black Cat's costume is pretty hot.
Exhibit F: Catwoman's costume is also pretty hot.
Exhibit G: What was I talking about? Oh yeah, Spiderman could totally beat the #### out someone or other. Whatever. Now lets talk some more about Catwoman and Black Cat. If they fought in a wading pull full of pudding, I'm pretty sure that we'd all win. Mmm... pudding.
Spidey's new suit would let him pwn Kraven without any trouble right now. Spidey in his new suit would be a handful for Batman. What flavor pudding?

Wait, is this with Spidey with his new suit and his new powers? Oh HELL NO Batman could not win! If it was old-school Spidey, and they just met on the street and said "Hey, you wanna fight?" Spidey would win. If Batman had just 1 day to learn about Spidey, Batman would win.

If you dropped the 2 in a cage and said FIGHT! Spidey would win, hands down.
If Bats got to trailing spidey and discovers his secret identity he could Force him to do just about anything. Bats Would study Spidey before fighting him anyway. So he'd have that advantage. But w/o the planning I dont see him pulling it out over Spidey.

Kraven imbibed jungle elixirs to give him enhanced strength and agility, so he has
a minor "Super Soldier Serum" thing going there.
He also has a punch that could "stop a Bull Elephant".
other things to note.. Well mostly that I forgot to mention..
Bats has ways to take down everyone in the JLA, based on this I'm SURE he'd find a way to take down spidey..

any hero can beat any other hero case closed but Id give 6 out of 10 to spidey here! spidey hits way harder than bane!

This ones even easier than Spider-Man vs Wolverine. Spidey beats Bats like a drum all up and down Gotham.

Speaking of beating down Batman, Hal Jordan KO'ed him with just one punch, ONE PUNCH.

There are a lot ot things to consider here...
Sudden battle, no time to prepare: Spider-Man
With time to prepare: Batman
DC writer writing the encounter: Batman
Marvel writer: Galactus eats the planet before the battle's over (or Thanos kills everyone)
Now, what was all this talk about pudding?
JKLantern
03/29/2006, 20:49
Galactus would eat them.
Really depends on what version of spidey and Bat's your using and if spidey has pounce I give this one to bats if he uses nanobots.

Batman is one of the all time greats, but he can not beat Spiderman in a fight.
Just as Spiderman can not beat Superman.
Lets make this a more fair fight, apples to apples,
Batman vs. Captain America, a much more fair fight, anyones game.
I would go with Cap, but not every time.

Damn right!
Spider-Man.
I'll explain myself when the next one of these threads pops up in a week or so. Or maybe not.

I don't think people are giving Batman enough credit. Since when has he only been good with time to prepare?
Batman has ranged attacks, roughly as far as Spidey can shoot.
Melee wise, Batman is one of the best fighters in the world. He was trained with all manner of weapons and styles.
He's also the smartest hero in DC, bar none. Compared to tactics, he runs circle around Spidey. Spidey isn't the type of guy to use tactics; he usually just hits something until it goes down.
It would be a close fight. Both would be hurting by the end, but I'd give it to Batman's brains.
I don't really have an opinion since I am of the "depends on the writer" school of thought, but I have a question:
How does Spidey stack up to Daredevil and Captain America?
It seems like people always describe Batman and Cap as perfectly equal, and I figure Batman would slightly outclass Daredevil on most days, but none of this seems factored into this debate. I would think since there is no DC equivalent of Spidey but there IS Cap in Marvel that this would get brought up. I could swear that I have seen or read somewhere that Daredevil and Spidey are pretty equal fighters because Murdock is highly trained whereas Spidey is incredibly fast and strong but more or less just flails his limbs about with superhuman reflexes (this is just my re-wording since I can't remember where it is from, this is not my opinion so do not jump on me.)
So, seriously, have there ever been any fights between Spidey and Cap or Spidey and Daredevil or any of those combo with evil clones or anything?

Spidey would have trouble against Cap, because he's a Cap fan.
Spidey has fought Daredevil fairly often.
He's usually hypnotized, or enraged, or afflicted with something that stops
him from fighting effectively, so DD often does quite well, but every other thought
bubble is saying things like
"His speed/strength...incredible...if he wasn't mind controlled/distracted/whatever,
he'd be making mincemeat of me."

Maybe you missed the part where it turned out that my entire point was nothing but a clever way to campaign for Catwoman and Black Cat in a pudding grudge match.

Well, that was the point of "Exhibits" E-G. (And it was a pretty good point).
They had no apparent connection to "Exhibits" A-D however, which was what I was addressing.

Spiderman has superhuman, multiple tons strength, and agility, and dodges bullets. Batman wouldn't feel too much pain, cause Spiderman could snap him in two faster than you could say "Bane". When it comes to melee Batman can't hang with Spiderman, probably not even Captain America either.
Now Batman's resources and tactics might allow him to set up an Omac like project to try to take Spidey down, and that is the only way he can compete.
The brilliance of a story like Batman Begins was that he relies off of his fear, darkness, and intimidation to do more than somebody all-to-human could otherwise do, but Spiderman isn't one to be intimidated, the same way Hal Jordan wasn't when he punched him down.

Very true. Spidey would not do well, because he believes he would not do well, not because he couldn't do well (although Cap does posses a level of super human speed, in the new 65th Aniversary issue he just ran 5 miles in 5 minutes, carrying Bucky).
With time to prepare, Batman could certainly win. Green Gobblin, Hobgobblin, and Mysterio have all bested him by preparing special items to slow him down, neutralize his spider sense, etc.
In a straight out fight, Spiderman would clean Batman's clock.

Yup, don't know to many humans who can leap 20-30 feet, or duplicate all of Spidey's powers and moves.

A Captain America vs Spiderman match-up is interesting. Captain America seems to have a little more in training, Spiderman has more in raw strength and agility, while both have superhuman abilities and plenty of experience.
I do think Spiderman's web-shooting and danger-senses is going to be more versatile and potent than Cap's shield though, and Spider-man can get quite powerful if his adrenaline kicks in. Much like his final Green Goblin fight in ### movie. I'd still have to give this fight to Spider-man, as long as he doesn't psych himself out or commit a critical error.

Knowing is half ### battle. Yo Joe! :)
Someone needs to create a yearly almanac that tells who would beat who in a fair fight. That would save us a lot of time. Here, I'll start.
Superman vs Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman because of magic and she's more brutal.
Superman vs Batman, Superman, I mean c'mon, heat vision and ice breath will outdistance the Kryptonite Batman might keep handy.
Superman vs Flash, Superman. Both can accelerate just as fast, but Supes got invulnerability.
Superman vs Green Lantern (Hal Jordan). GL. The most powerful weapon in the universe in the hands of a guy who knows how to use it.
Superman vs Aquaman. Superman, superspeed to pluck him out of the sea and then done.
Superman vs Martian Manhunter. Superman will just use enough of his heat vision to subdue J'onn.
The last one is wrong. Jonn wil use mental attacks to stop clark.
