So, our next film, Classic or Crud, Hit or Miss, what say you ALL?

Our next film open for discussion, and ultimately an Overall RATING by you all:

CLERKS
RNd8nvnmhyM

Let the discussions flow. Likes, dislikes, classic film or overhyped trash, and DONT FORGET to place an Overall Rating when youre done.

Its easy, just give a Rating from 1 (Jaws 4:The Revenge) to 10 (Jaws), and thats it. Course I'd love to have you all give reasons as to why you feel it deserves this Overall Rating, and more than encourage discussions with us all about them.

So, what say you all?

Next Film: ??????

I saw this movie a loooooong time ago back in high school before it became the cult classic that is today. I remember my friends and I gathered around the tv watching this black and white film laughing our asses off and wondering why we'd never heard of it before. Needless to say, we told everyone we knew about it (as I imagine just about anyone else who saw it back then did) and even to this day pretty much anyone I talk to loves that movie.
I've probably seen this movie 37 times and give it a 9.7.:)

This is definitely one of my all-time favorite movies. I give it a 9.8.

There are so many good lines from that movie, but none that i can post here. :)

5/10, I'm sorry if it's a cult movie for you but there you go.

This movie to me is another example (just like ### Blair Witch project, which I loved), of how great a film can be with virutally NO Money to its name. Where TBWP has a very spooky story and equally as such locale, Clerks has incredibly enjoyable and very well written dialogue, which near made me an instant Kevin Smith fan (whose movies Ive all seen, and while I certainly havent loved them all, Id probably rate Clerks as my favorite)

No fancy effects, no fancy locales, just a day in ### life of some odd but fun and enjoyable characters, and for this film thats enough for me to get me laughing, and keeping me there.

Great film, Great director, Great Fun.

CLERKS: 8.75 / 10

This is a great independant film that showcased that you don't need to spend much if you have good writing. While Smith sold his comic collection back in ### day to pay for ### film needed to make ### movie, today you could make this movie without having to spend much at all. All you'd need is a few friends, enough cash to take over a convinence store for a day, and there you go. Anyways, it's good to see a movie that shows good writing can make up lame overdone special effects that plague most Hollywood movies these days. Could easily be adapted into a play sometime down ### road.

Anyways, I'd give it a 8.5/10. Now if only Smith could work as hard and write as well as he did back when he made Clerks...:-/

It's probably my favorite comedy, and ### soundtrack is great too (I was able to find it used somewhere).

On the one hand, the jokes are good and cleverly implemented. On the other hand, the dialogue comes off as so unnatural at times that its hard to ignore. Also, Kevin Smith couldn't direct his way out of a paper bag. Still, the flick has charm and a good sense of self. Works well as a comedy and a testament to a generation.

8.5

I'll go with a 9. It really showcased the 90's and proved that money wasn't needed to make one of the funniest movies of the century.

I'n my opinion ### least funny of ### Jay & Silent Bob saga.

6/10.

It's not considered part of the "Jay and Silent Bob" saga. This was the movie that they were first seen in though.

As one of my favorite movies, I give it a 9.5

I really liked it. I'd give it a 8.7654 out of 10. I went into the thing expecting something really funny, and nearly got that. Just a bit short of being truly awesome. I'm looking forward to the new one, and I'm curious as to what Smith will even do with his much larger budget. Who wants to bet at least one celebrity will come into the store this time?

NO budget, NO real actors, NO clue. lol

But despite all that, it works. It's one of those movies I can leave on in the background and chuckle at while doing something else. I'm definately gald the original ending was left out.

8/10

10/10 The first time I saw that movie, I became an addict. It's probably the movie I've watched the more in my life (given that at a time, like 8 years ago or so, I watched it at least one time a week :knockedou and it lasted several months - no need saying that I totally ruined the VHS). My bro' offered me the DVD 2 years ago for my birthday, and it is still as good as the first time. Jay & Silent Bob rocks (Randall and Dante too actually ...).

Really wasn't impressed with Clerks. I heard so much about it for so long and when I saw it (a couple of years ago) I just didn't get the hype. Yeah, for what was pretty much a student film it wasn't bad, but it isn't the Citizen Kane of indie flicks. It seems like it was comprised mostly of in-jokes between the cast and crew, and because I was not part of that group (clearly) I don't find a lot of the humor funny.

4.5/10

I think this is one of those movies that if you don't find it funny you're one of the people that are getting made fun of. Sorry man.
