Let the discussions flow. Likes, dislikes, classic film or overhyped trash, and DONT FORGET to place an Overall Rating when youre done.
Its easy, just give a Rating from 1 (Jaws 4:The Revenge) to 10 (Jaws), and thats it. Course I'd love to have you all give reasons as to why you feel it deserves this Overall Rating, and more than encourage discussions with us all about them.
So, what say you all?
Next Film: ??????
OK, Ill start this one off. Personally, I really did enjoy this little film, based on a play, based on a movie. :) I thought the acting was very well done, and fit the characters perfectly. Seymour, the sweet but always down on his luck "hero", Audrey, the damsel with no self esteem and a heart of gold, and Steve Martians maschistic dentist character was as funny as he was Sick and Twisted. Not to mention cameos from John Candy, Christopher Guest and Jim Belushi, to boot. What amazed me though was the plant, the creature, Audrey II, and even as big as it got it still moved with the ease and grace as if it were really alive. Great job to the songsters who did a great job writing a host of enjoyable songs that, as such songs should do in a muscial, advanced the plot and told more of the story. Levi Stubbs (from the Four Tops) gave the Killer Plant an amazing singing voice as well as attitude and wit. A very fun, enjoyable little film (from the man that gave us Yoda, Grover and Fozzie Bear) that should get more credit that it has, in my opinion.
Little Shop Of Horrors - 8 / 10
Hey all.
Ive got loads of additional movies, from all genres, to throw on to this series, but what I would like is some additional suggestions (which very well may be on our list already) from you all.
So if you want to see what a movie (not a whole listing, just 1 or 2 please) you like, dislike, love or hate, does with the general public of HCR, send me a PM and well add it to our list.
Better yet, as #50 of this series of coming up, I would like to make those that follow it (least for a little while anyway) of a specific category, such as this:
51 - 60 - Sequels (but ONLY from films weve already had on our list)
61 - 70 - Guilty Pleasures (you know, those films that you REALLY enjoy, even though you also know theyre not THAT great)
And so on from there, so if you have a category idea youd like to try out, PM me an idea as well. (if we get alot of participation, meaning more than 10, well extend the above lists to 12 or 15 maybe.)
Thanks all, and as ALWAYS all of these films are Always OPEN, so if you havent rated any of them, Do So Now.

I too really liked Little Shop of Horrors. The music was great - even the obligatory "we need to add a new song for the movie to qualify for an Oscar nomination" song was good. I was very sorry when the Ashman/Mencken team was broken up by Ashman's premature death. They were a great team. The casting was nicely done.

Which song was added for a possible Oscar Nom?
Im going to redo the next set of categories after #50, to allow for the following ranges:
51 - 60 (or more if needed) - whatever write in movies you all would like me to display, but remember, only 1 or 2 requests per member please.
61 - 70 - Sequels (but ONLY from films weve already had on our list)
71 - 80 - Guilty Pleasures (you know, those films that you REALLY enjoy, even though you also know theyre not THAT great)
So well take it to #50 as is, then Ill pop on your requests (or most of them anyway), and then its the S and GPs.

Mean Green Mother from Outer Space wasn't in the original play.

7.5/10
It gets half a point of because it always startles me when people start to sing for no apparent reason. Other than that it's just awesome.
CURRENT HCR MEMBER RATING:
Little Shop Of Horrors - 7.92 / 10
(3 members rating) ........come on all, surely more of us have seen this film than this? :p
I like this film. It's funny, it's amusing, and I can even stand Steve Martin (who usually I'm not a big fan of). I'll give it an 8.5/10

Right off the bat, I am not a fan of musicals. I'm not even a fan of much singing or dancing in a movie. Little Shop of Horror is the exception. While not as funny now when I saw it as a kid, still pretty hilarious. Rick Morranis' second best role (Darth Helmet in "Spaceballs" is numero uno) and doing a fanstastic job. Steve Martin had me rollin' though. Honestly, he stole the movie for me although I was glad he got chopped up at the end. Seriously, being a woman beater is no joke. Everyone from Audrey to Mushnik to Weird Wink provided great support and props for making that plant so lifelike.
8.25/10 for me. Enjoy watching this film.

8/10
Funny and family orientated, while still having a dark edge that kept me interested.

This was a fun movie. It departs from the original play, but it's still a solid piece of entertainment.
8.25/10
I loved Steve Martin's character. This film is fun and it's one of the few musicals that I can stand to watch.

I saw this one the first time in high school in my theater arts class. (We also saw the less fun version with Jack Nicholson.) I cool movie with great music. The first chance I got, I bought it on DVD and it's a gem in my collection. My only issue with the movie is some foul language that the plant uses towards the end.
I give it a 9.5 because of the language issue.
