View Full Version : Which Giant is YOUR Favorite?
Well the Giant Sets have been shipped and I have to say they look beautiful. They really do fit the scheme of being a GIANT. So out of your set which is your favorite?

Validus
Giganta
Alloy
Rita Farr
Atom Smasher
Chemo
I was torn between Alloy, Chemo and Colossal Boy. I REALLY like all three figures. I can see using Colossal Boy in some nice wildcard battles, but he seems to be a big target. Alloy is just awesome as he charges in and is purely offensive through his dial. Though, I had to go with the killer of Bludhaven, CHEMO. His massive amounts of damage dealing and his late regeneration make him monstrous. His 8 range with two targets is even better. He REALLY is a power house.

It is very hard to choose, but if I have to, I choose Alloy. Keep those awesome KC figures coming!
(And WK, please FAQ the Bat Sentry to be a Giant! He fits on the shelf right next to all other Giant clix!)

Since Giganta is the only one I actually know. Only caring about one is not enough to get the set. My votes pretty simple.

Giganta is the only one I know by name, but Rita Farr is the only one I've used so far, so I had to vote for Rita by default.
I'm a huge JSA Fanboy so I went with Atom Smasher.
My second choice for favorite was Micro Lad [as he calls himself]. I'm a LoSH Fanboy from back in the 1970-80's and this was a tough vote for me.
But, playability-wise, Chemo is definitely a menace and will see a lot of play.

Validus all the way. Damage that never goes below 3, some great powes and he's a wildcard! What's not to like (besides the sculpt)?

Getting him errataed to be a Giant will never happen. Let's focus on getting him errataed to an Experienced rank, so they can be played in multiples first! ;)
I voted for Chemo. Too much fun packed into that dial, and the sculpt is too cool!
Atom Smasher is my favorite for character choice and playability, though Chemo ran a close second on playability. I like his sculpt too- it's the closest thing to an "action pose" we've gotten for giants yet, given the limitations of the packaging. That last click is killer- too bad it also means he's about to get killed...
I love all of the giants, but I went with Chemo. His dial is so diverese that he can fit any situation. His SS TA and Regen, along with lots of damage reducers (including impervious that many of the Giants are missing) will make him extremely difficult to take out. While all of the Giants are very unique, Chemo is nothing like we've seen.
What, no Rita Farr fans ????

I have to go with the monster know as Chemo! At close or range he is going to be a hard one to kill. With SS TA and re-gin. O-Boy :surprised

Just have an Experienced OMAC hang out next to him (share 18 defense). That should take care of the low defense problem at the bottom of the dial. ;)

Hey, that's not a half-bad idea. All this time I've been griping about Defenders getting relatively inexpensive 18 defenses to share around and I forgot all about DC's newest wildcard powerhouses! It doesn't solve the no-damage-reducers problem, but Willpower on a click like that is fun, anyway. You just know that Atom Smasher's going to get KO'ed at that point, so it becomes a question of how many people he's going to take with him.

I don't want to go on record stating that all of the Giants are playable/competitive However, if you can figure out some way to minimize their weaknesses and not assume that all games are 300 point tournaments, each one has something to offer.
I voted Atom Smasher, but
Giganta work well with The Society on her.
Alloy could get plain ugly with his KC TA and Giants adjacency rules mixing it up.
Chemo...ok, in a tournament if your opponent DOES NOT Disband his TA, Chemo should be a serious problem.
Colossal Boy...Wildcard and themey...abuse as needed.
Rita Farr...our only shot to get her as far as Doom Patrol clix, so she was a necessity (ok, unless DP was a Collector's Set). However, she's a pretty awesome Outsiders for 70 points. Remember, she can see "over" the heads of character bases to shut down modifiers like RCE.
Validus...what's not to like about a 152-point 10-click Wildcard with a sign that says "Hey, my sculpt might be 'inaccurate', so why not make it worse and give me Barb Gordon's phone number too!"

well to be perfectly honest. Giganta is my favorite, Because I loved the legion of doom when I was kid, now I have 12 of the 13 villians.
I will have to make a toy man Mod, to have all 13.

Atom Smasher all the way. Love him on Justice League Unlimited. Alloy is my 2nd choice. I LOVE KC's. Keep them comming Wizkidz.

Chemo will always be played with Auto Regen, and I find that more reliable than Suicide Squad. The medics that are seeing play have higher damage values to counter War Zone, so Radiation Leak seems like the card to beat him with.

Well I've only been talking about him since they announced he'd be in it, but Alloy all the way. For one, I love KC (the story and the figs). Two, he's just incredibly playable with an awesome dial. I can't wait to throw him on the same squad as my bat sentry.
btw, I agree that WK should errata the bat sentry to be a generic giant (been griping about that since giants first started), but I also agree that becoming generic is a lot more likely than becoming a giant. So that's what I'll push for first.

I guess I'm the only one who likes Validus. The fig is a complete beast and the team ability leaves him open for so many possibilities. He is going to hurt you from range or up close. A Validus with the Batman TA is just sick.

They're all cool, but Alloy all the way. It's a neat sculpt, and I like the Metal Men anyway.
First Brainiac 5, then Wildfire, and now Colossal Boy way to go Wizkids.

If you could use Giant Adjacency to share defenses/attacks, he'd be one of the most awesome pieces going. As it is, for 97 points, he's still a great piece, and one I will definately use.
Colossal Boy wildcarding Alt. FF and defending with a 19 def for 2 squares out is the new cheese around here. Even KC Flash had trouble.

They could certainly make a "house rule" to that effect, assuming they properly document it. But if you're playing the standard rules, they're mistaken.

Yup. Giants are ONLY adjacent in two situations:
Anytime someone moves
When the giant wants to make a close combat attack
Defend is neither a movement or a close combat attack so no 2 square adjacency.
I voted for Atom Smasher. Heck, as soon as they said he was in it I knew I had to buy the set. Haven't used any yet but twirling through their dials I have to say I like them all...

It was a toss up between Collosal Boy and Atom Smasher. I had to think on it too much. This was the hardest poll I ever took for clix and then finally decided on Atom Smasher. He is just too awesome!

Well, I studied the dials carefully. Chemo is very nasty, and so is validus, but from a competitive experience, I like ALLOY.
He gets my vote.
I voted for Collossal Boy. Need more Legion bricks... :)

(While I do very much like the Collosal Boy sculpt, I really very much wish they'd have given him his classic costume. I'm not a big fan of the Legion reboot, cool new costume or not.)

Chemo For 5 Reasons:
1. Suicide Squad Team Ability.
2. Poison + Armor Piercing.
3. Regeneration + Auto Regen.
4. Damage Shield.
5. Nanobots.
He practically UN -KO- ABLE. Sure he can be
KOed but its gonna take some work!!!
Now if I could just get my hands on one!!!
