So, our next film, Classic or Crud, Hit or Miss, what say you ALL?

Our next film open for discussion, and ultimately an Overall RATING by you all:

THE TERMINATOR
TPG-tKLAJuE

Let the discussions flow. Likes, dislikes, classic film or overhyped trash, and DONT FORGET to place an Overall Rating when youre done.

Its easy, just give a Rating from 1 (Jaws 4:The Revenge) to 10 (Jaws), and thats it. Course I'd love to have you all give reasons as to why you feel it deserves this Overall Rating, and more than encourage discussions with us all about them.

So, what say you all?

Next Film: ??????

So, no one here has seen The Terminator? And only 2 of us have seen Rocky? Sheesh, and here I thought these threads were really taking off.

I indeed have not seen The Terminator.
(I've seen the ending twice, but that doesn't count.)

And I've never seen Rocky, not even a small part of it.

As the good prof stated; good thought provoking plot. Not overblown movie like it's successors.
Arnolds best role. His acting ability was perfect for the role.... absolutely magnificent.

8.50

could be a 9 but I'm being a hardass tonight.

Terminator's a very good movie. It's not just action, there's a well-developed plot and character development behind it. I'll give it an 8.25

And no, I never have seen Rocky, at least not all the way through. Bits and pieces here and there, but never sat through the whole movie.

The movie goes to show that there was once a time when James Cameron could make great films without spending 200 million. It's a classic sci fi film and one of the best Arnie movies ever. And what a supporting cast! Michael Biehn, Linda Hamilton, Paul Winfield, Lance Henrickson and you even get apperances by Bill Paxton, #### Miller and Brian Thompson! Holy Moley! What more could you ask for?

9.0 out of 10.0

7.5/10

A good sci-fi action flick, but sometimes you just can't tell that's Arnold on screen (half the time I swear he looks like a different person).

I give it a 9 out of 10.

And only because I have to reserve the 10 out of 10 for T2.

You realize that if you dont want to give T1 the same Perfect 10 (for you) that T2 is getting, you dont have to go one full point down. You can do 9.25, 9.50 or 9.75 as well.

I do. However, it has to be a full point below T2. Because T2 is just one of the best movies ever made, and Terminator....well.....it wasn't as good.

8.75

the Terminator is a great movie and a good way to show that not every good movie has to have 200 million dollars injected into it to be great AND have a great plot, good writing.

though the special effects of T2 are just awesome !!

It's not our fault that you didn't see the classics...

9.75/10 (I keep the 10/10 for T2, and the 1/10 for T3:confused:). True classic for me, with that late 70's/early 80's atmosphere that had never been redone since. Schwarzie is on his best role, the rest of the cast is great too (as Sigourney Weaver in the Alien series is Ripley, nobody can ever be Sarah Connor like Linda Hamilton - special love for Kyle, the desperate-and-ready-to-sacrifice warrior). Cameron was in his geatest period at the time, I just love this movie. Since then (and T2 of course), I've never seen a movie featuring an evil robot/cyborg that good. A true masterpiece :classic:.

Not to mention the music!

9/10...the plot and acting (even Ahnold) is dead-on. Bad day to be a cop in LA. I love several scenes:

Reese going off on the camera while the cops, doc and Sarah are watching it.

Taking the metal bar to the endo frame at the very end...so hopeless, but it almost seemed like maybe...just maybe...

The opening shotgun scenes in the Tech Noir club...just a taste of what they had coming for them...

Yup, music was really nice ... I should have mentionned that about Conan too :p.

9.00 I love it. The ending is tied with the ending of Aliens for excitement and tension.

The second one was great, but the first one was more horror than action.

Originally seeing Arnold as a robotic villain was incredible. Best of the Terminators 9.5

First off, The Terminator is hands down my most favorite movie. Great action, great characters, great music and great story make this film, um, great. I know most like T2 better but my opinion, this was the better film to me. Arnold really should have stayed the villian and having Reese go up against him shows how awesome the Terminator is.

10/10 for me. And if anyone is curious, I'm going to give T2 a 9.5. As good as the special effects and action was, Arnold taking orders from whiny and snot-nosed Edward Furlong will always cause me to wish Arnold would bust his head in.
