I'll start out here, and probably buck the trend that will follow. I didn't really like this movie. It was less "funny" and more "stupid." I spent more time wincing than laughing, which is never a good sign. I have tried watching it again to see if I just missed something the first time, but it isn't entertaining enough for me to sit all the way through it again.

I gotta go with Grinner on this one. It just wasn't that entertaining. Attempts at humor were way too adolescent.

Well then call me the worlds oldest adolesent because I truly enjoyed this film, and laughed out loud many times when I first saw it. Were many to most of the jokes crude and gross, sure they were, thats the Farrelly brothers humor for you. They throw PC to the wind and tickle your funny bone incredibly well, and if I may say, with a surprising amount of intellect as well. If anything, I thought that TSAM had alot more heart and emotion than their other outings. You really felt for Ben Stiller, a bit of a loser, with a good and kind heart, becoming the town embarassment on the eve of his Prom with the towns angelic beauty. 20 years later he still cant get her out of his mind, and while making occasionally foolish choices here and there, manages to find out about her again, and through a series of hilarious events with himself an others in the film, he Finally comes out the winner and gains his true loves heart. This movie wasnt just crude or gross for the sake of it, and looking back its really not nearly as much so as many other comedies have been. Its smart (even in its crudeness), its funny, and its even a bit emotional and sensitve at times. Great cast of comedic characters to me as well. While its not to the level of such comedic classic as Airplane, Blues Brothers or Blazing Saddles to me, its definately my favorite Farrelly brothers film, and a true laugh-fest to any (or most any I guess) who watch this.

(If you think this is a film that gets its laughs solely thru sexual vulgarity, knocking PC for the sake of it and visual grossness, you need to re-watch this one I think)

I have seen this film many times and everytime I watch I laugh my butt off. I have seen it with family, friends, and past girlfriends; and everyone I have watched it with has enjoyed it. Sure the humor may be crude, but it is laugh out loud humor as well. All of the jokes are well set up and appealing, even to someone like myself, who often criticizes films for stupidity. I may not be the Farrely brothers biggest fans, but this film is a gem with a good pace and nothing but great gags.

Well, I was an adolescent when the movie came out and I loved it.
I still enjoy it, but not as much anymore.

Wow! I thought I was going to be in the minority on this one.
I just didn't find this movie enjoyable at all. I honestly don't even remember anything about it now with the exception of the zipper scene, which I'll be fair, was funny in a gross kind of way.
3.0 out of 10.0.
Ouch! (and then some) While I didnt expect us all to love this film, I kinda thought wed all put it in the silly/dumb but fun and enjoyable section, not the utter carp and completely laughless category that pretty most everyone seems to be putting it. Again I say...ouch.

Y'see, that's not it for me. For me, the Farrelly Brothers are seriously hit or miss.
Dumb & Dumber makes my eyes bleed, but I can watch Shallow Hal over and over. Don't like Mary, liked Fever Pitch.
And it's not that I'm only into "highbrow" humor - I love the 40 Year Old Virgin, laughed my tuchus off at Euro-trip, and I can watch the American Pie movies more than once. There's just something about Something About Mary that doesn't do it for me.

40 Year Old Virgin was hilarious but Euro-trip and American Pie movies are also down there with Mary.

Grinner pretty much summed up my feelings as well about this movie.
The only difference is that I couldn't even begin to convince myself why I should suffer through this movie a second time.

Wow, am I surprised on this one. Again, not saying I expected this to be everyones favorite comedy, but I didnt think it would be disliked and basically hated as much as its seemed to be here. I mean, from reading many of the ratings and reviews thus far youd think this film was filled with nothing more than tasteless and moronic burps, farts, boobies and vulgarity galore, with no intelligent writing, actual comedic scenes or genuine laughable parts in it at all. (which I couldnt disagree with more) Eh, to each their own I guess, though personally I feel this film, and the Farrelly brothers in general, are getting a bum rap here.

The revulsion for this movie is incredible. I laughed my arse off when I saw this movie. I need to watch it again but until then I'll give it an 8. When I watch it over the weekend I may change it but the 8 stands for now.
First time I saw this movie I just couldn't stop laughing, especially the zipper incident. Now that I've seen it a couple of times I might not laugh quite as hard but still, it's a very funny film and just my kind of humour. I'd certainly watch it again no problem. I'll score it 8.5/10

I found it amazing that so many people disliked the movie. I thought it was halarious, while still being rediculous. Maybe thats just because I am a huge Ben Stiller fan, but none-the-less, I liked the movie alot.

7/10 I really loved this movie when it came out but for me personally I think its aged poorly, or maybe I'm just dead sick of the gross out comedy genre.
Its a fun solid comedy and definately the best for my money in the gross out comedy genre.
I only remember a couple of funny parts from this film.
