Who is your Favorite Superman?

Hey all,

One of the most controversial pieces in the game has ALWAYS been Superman due to his power (go figure he is superman). With an impending movie which version of Superman is you personal favorite?

Superman as a villian has always entertained me. I really like the Ultraman unique as he is powerful, but VERY different then most versions of superman. He really makes me think when building a team around him.

Granted I can not wait until they make the Speeding Bullets Superman OR the Earth Two Superman

Got to go with KC Supes, truely the best Supes figure, you actually have to use some strategy in using him, since he starts with charge and not the crutch power HSS, after charging he is out in the open with no where to hide, in higher point games use protected and fortitude with him..... ;)

I have to go with KC Superman as well. I've never actually used him in a Heroclix game, but for sculpt, power set and point cost I think he is the best. You don't get a more commanding pose (and his hair is much better than Icons Supes'). He was the first Superman figure to really start to capture Superman's true potential (sure SOD Superman was a beast when he came out, but he has certain limitations that make him fall short of the Superman ideal performance).

It was great to have a Superman that mirrored his midset in the Kingdom Come comic, namely that he had had enough and was going to clean things up, period. Vet Icons Superman now tends to be the go-to piece for Supermen due to his lower cost, Superman TA and front-loaded HSS, but I still like KC more overall.

I do have to say that I like the Red/Blue Supermen from CD a lot as well. I didn't read Superman or JLA at the time, so I can't say if it was a great/lame direction for the character, but I like that we got the variety in our Supermen.

I chose R Icons Superman as my favourite, since he's the only Superman I've actually played and won with.
He also doesn't have the bad rep the Vet has.

I'm not a big point figure player in general so the R CD Superman really appealed to me. It was very different and fit on teams much easier than the other Supermen. Have to go with him.

Tough vote for me, since he is my favorite character, and there are now so many good versions of him.


IF KC Superman had the Superman TA, he would without a doubt be my favorite. He is as accurate as Superman can be.

R/E/V Icons all represent Superman well, and seem to have captured how he is at different stages in a fight. Despite all the whining and crying that the Vet generates from the haters and zombies, he is an effective figure that CAN win without hitting and running from Range (I know, I have done it).

NGN Superman, is just plain cool.

CD R/E/V makes for a nice change in power set.

R CD Supes is my fave, mostly for aethetics. Yeah, there are more powerful versions, but they really aren't as fun to play IMO.

I chose Experienced Icons Superman (gasp!), just because it was such an improvement over the previous JLA Superman. I'm more of a Super Friends fan than a strict Superman fan. Speaking of which, WK, where's that JLA Alt TA? :)

Yeah, those are the only real weaknesses.

Pulse Wave is most likely to hurt him. You want to make sure he doesn't get hit, use 3D objects, grab the desk on the first turn and fly him up and park him on top of a Soda Machine for a total of a potential +3 defense.

And, on the bright side, he can kill most of the characters that'd be included to wildcard Mystics/CrossGen/Arachnos in a single shot and if he gets Incapped, his Defense value jumps +2. :)

Also, if he chooses to add Vendeta, target your own big gun (or character with the aforementioned powers), and manages to get the first shot off, you'd better hope that your support group can figure out a way to hurt him or it could be 'game over' in just a few turns.

I went with KC Superman. Basically because:

1) I like the sculpt.
2) I loved Kingdom Come!
3) This figure is very push friendly.

This was a tough one. Superman Blue has the great defense and pulse wave and NGN has the Bat-friend TA. But, I had to go with Son of Darkseid. He has the redundant Super-friend TA and he deals five natural damage! With CCE! Plus, Darkseid is in his name! DARKSEID!!!

I have to go Superman Blue here. I've used the Icons vet. and won, but it was no fun. Blue boy is just so great for 105 pts, and he's from my (unpopular opinion) favorite time in the JLA, the Morrison Satelite era. A lot of people hated these stories, but they were just so different and out there that I love them.

It was a close choice, but I ended up going with NGN Superman. A lot of what I like about Icons Superman, but not the groan-inducer. Plus, I can justify not using Fortitude on him since he'll usually end up in Stealth. I don't really mind the single click of HSS since he's got running shot afterwards and that's practically as good. Plus I get a kick out of that mid-dial Psychic Blast and Super Senses. Whee!

Son of Darkseid is the only Superman that I use and enjoy. He's held his ground against a KC team for me, also people forget what he can do so they are surprised when their star piece is crippled in one hit.

There are so many things that I think are awesome about KC Superman that I won't list them all. Suffice it to say that he is fun to play and that the sculpt is totally powerful in representing the Last Son of Krypton. I wouldn't part with or trade my KC Supes for anything, not even for Galactus.

While the V Supes from Icons may be a dominating piece to be reckoned with, I feel the KC version represents the big S moreso than any other version.

I went with SoD Supes. Even now the guy is just a beast. Throw on something like Haymaker and he's doing even more damage. Sure he's limited by no range, but that's part of the appeal in using him.

Close second for me would of course be KC Supes. The only thing that stinks is that I don't have either of these.

I went with the ICONS E. He's got nearly the same numbers as the Veteran, but his powers aren't getting nerfed.

Oh, and because we needed a capable JLA Superman. That's why he's useful to the game in general.

I've only got a couple of Supers figs...E and V (and U) Hypertime, E Icons, (I traded away the R CD to somebody who really REALLY wanted it, with no skin off my nose), and most recently the NGN Batman Ally, which is the one for which I voted.

I love the idea of KC Superman, but I don't have him, and have actually never played anybody who used him. Mine is a very personal vote, and while I really do enjoy the solidness of E Icons, the Batman/Superman one is my fave. So there.

I like the sculpt, I like the powers and I like the TA (not as much as if it was Superman !)

He's expensive but he is worth it

I like Superman as a character. He is, and has always been, one of my favourites. I like the idea that a hero isn't a whiny, sociopathic milquetoast

Team wise (which is how I voted) I like CD Vet. He is really team friendly, which most other Supermans are not. He also has a kick to him, which the HT's do not

He is also not fugly like the HT Supermen

That said, I also like SoD and NGN quite a lot too

I like V icons supes. Especially now that he is the most hated on click in the game. Superman should pack a punch, and pay for it in points. He is beatable, 251 points allows quite a force to be assembled against him, but he is one of the few high point clicks that is worth his points. The hypertime versions were a bad joke. I never won a match using the Experienced or veteran hypertime pieces, so it was nice to get a regular supes version I could use.

V Icons Baby. The real Superman. You can hate him all you want but I play him with the NGN sculpt on the Vet base and he kicked the holy purple poo outta KC Supes both times he played against him. Plus he is very beatable. AND I did my time playing E HT Superman.

KC Superman. I'm a huge fan of Kingdom Come, and pretty much look at every mini-series and compare it to KC. KC Supes was one of those figures I looked at, straight up without feats and went "Yeah, he's done right."

Feats just make him even more incredible.

Not from the list: Man of Steel, especially for backwards games (playing from your last click and getting K.O-ed when past the green line), carrying Venom into close combat with plasticity and a 21 Defense. Forwards, he's a good taxi for figures with stealth and ESD, who can come out and play with HSS and then charge, just vicious.

I voted Icons VET Superman, because he's the best of the one I have. As for what the figures represented, I would've chosen KC Superman because I loved Kingdom Come. If I had to choose from the ENTIRE list, I want the NGN Superman the most. Hypersonic Sniping with Stealth... maybe cheesy, but I like it, especially when going up against equally cheesy opponents :cool:

Fair enough...I hadn't thought about those (and had forgotten in Parallax'/Ganthet's case) and I am sure that I can find another use for those 6 points since the feated out Supes is 383. I'd throw in a cheap fig and some pogs for some flank protection, basing, harassment, etc...

Voted KC, but definitely would have voted for Man of Steel if he was on there. I've not played the Vet Icons Supes or NGN Supes because I just don't really like them, but I've already played MOS twice and will do so any other time I want Superman on a team. The only other Supes that might get PT from me now are the CD ones, just cause they're totally different from all the others and fit on smaller teams better.

CD Vet, because in all the Superman stories I've read, that story was the best. It showed a human side to Clark. He was fallible because he wasn't Super all the type. He had to hide to change form (and hope no one heard the BOOM), actually try to do his work. He asked heroes like the freakin RAY for help with his energy form. To me, it was more relateable, because he had to really think instead of "Superman Smash" and the problem was solved.

Even though I haven't fit him on a team yet, I love the CD Rookie. Pulse Wave, 4 Damage, Superman team. 18 def with SS? You gotta love it. Plus if you use him well, it is more finess than hss, bam, run, and repeat.
