g-giant: Special rule for non-generic theme teams: +1 Attack to all members if the opposing team is a generic theme (There's nothing Baddies hate more than lack of Originality :p )[/COLOR]But looking at the builds, only a few non-gen theme teams are decent enough for a 400 point team, which means to get the bonus, teams will end up pretty much using the same keyword. There's nothing baddies hate more than the lack of originality! Wait. Deja vu (LOL)

Serious question though. Does this bonus apply when the non-gen theme is facing a non-theme team? Well well well, looks like people have no reasons not to use skrulls. Skrull Infiltrators with 9 attack? Well you can use the Fearsome Five or the Rogues or the Royal Flush Gangbang. Following the logic of the Tbolts, I guess the Suicide Squad and Secret Six are villains too, yes?Apokolips and the MSOE din sana kaso bitin.

But in the meantime just so people won't need to look up the units section, yes there is a Batman Ally with a Villainous keyword (Batgirl with her League of Assassins) and Iron Widow is obviously a villain, so there. Just need someone to complete the mix (wink wink). Also, do check the scientists and spies because interesting baddies are there and yes do keep in mind that they all automatically have -1 defense against skrulls and whatnot.

The Skrulls continue undermining the very core of Earth's greatest heroes... but their corruption does not stop there. For even within the ranks of the vilest villains the Skrulls slowly gain a foothold that will soon be nigh-impossible to overcome...

BAD BOYS!!

:g-giant: Villains only! No Anti-heroes like the Punisher or Red Hood; however, some heroes can qualify IF they were a member of a Super-baddie group AND the figure in question actually has the Keyword (i.e. Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Spider-Woman, Wonderman, etc... and yes Thunderbolts, Secret Six, Suicide Squad are Villains). Judge will have the final say if the figure/s qualifies.

:g-giant: Racial Keywords (i.e. Skrulls, Shi'ar, Kree, Atlantis, etc.) are considered Generic for this tourney. Why? Because there are Skrull/Shi'ar/Kree Heroes as well as Villains. :cool:

yep... non-generic themes get the bonus against generic and no-theme teams. It's hard enough to build a non-generic villain team so the creative ones deserve more than just the standard theme bonus :devious:

Cons, I have a suggestion. Since we usually only have a handful of players during Wednesdays, and we only have a limited amount of time, we could have a 1-round 4 player match instead of the usual 2 rounds.

The rankings can be decided via last man standing rules, that is, the first player taken out of the game is last place, and so on until the last man standing on the map is the champion.

Naturally, we'll be using the big square maps.

Startegies and team building will be different, because instead of considering how to take on one opposing team, you have three teams to battle all at once. You don't know who to trust if you want to team up, and if you do, you don't know how long you can trust the other team.

All figs will have their TA's (except power cosmic or Quint) replaced with the GL TA.

BFCS:
Mogo: +1 to range and attack for every friendly figure that is adjacent to the attacker and has a clear LOF to the target. (applicable only to GL figs)

You should wait for Arkham to Hit the shelves before playing this format, Otherwise it would be only a GL team vs A team filled with manhunters etc led by Sinestro SR or Sinestro V(Legacy). It's tempting true but i'd much rather wait for the arrival of actual Sinestro Corps figures to make more of an impact.;)

I agree that it would be better if we waited for Arkham because not everybody owns a Sinestro figure right now, same thing goes for Parallax and Anti-Monitor. If they'll play SC, they might have to resort to playing with Cyborg Superman, who, let's face it, isn't very good. Sinestro Corps players will get more choices once AA hits the Philippines.

I agree with Anton on the team build:
If you play a GL team, it must have one GL character and the rest of the team has to be DC Heroes.

If you play a SC team, it must have one SC character and the rest of the team has to be DC Villains.

That makes more sense and is truer to the story. Don't worry about Marvel players who want to join, they can always borrow figs from everyone else for that tourney.

Ok yang SC vs GLC! If you read the comics naman, the heroes of Earth did help the GLC vs Sinestro's gang. Now clix-wise (ignoring comic accuracy muna), I was discussing with Marco a while ago, what would be an interesting battle would be Sinestro Corps vs Skrulls. Parang each one has a decent line up of hitters and support. Mas marami lang talaga ang Skrulls. Anyone wanna try this out once AA arrives?

I don't think there's someone to be blame here, kasi its business, maybe they have other investments that will profit them more hence they stop heroclix and transfer their expenses to another...remember thay also have people who works for them that they have to take care. So from here on let's just make the most to get this game going. Probably they have a change of heart or some good soul will buy the rights to produce heroclix again...but time to move forward people...

How to beat Superman Prime:

Use a cheap figure with energy explosion to bypass his invincible power, then on his more dangerous clicks with impervious use Exploit weakness or Psyblast.Outwit is also useful on him.:laugh: Now what are the chances of pulling those out of a booster eh?

C'mon, every figure has its own weaknesses. There is no sure win, there is a highly probable win, but you never know what can happen in a game.

Ladies night out + Neo-ATC Rules

- We will be testing out the following rules to keep Heroclix "fresh" and finally have a more comicbook "feel" to some powers, TAs and such

* Force Blast - as is or can be used at half-range (if the figure already has Ranged attacks)

* RCE - option 1)as is or 2)Sharpshooter rule(but no +2 to damage)

* Super Strength - as is but add: "As a Power Action, if the figure is not holding an object and adjacent to a Wall or Blocking Terrain, give the figure a light standard object. Adjacent wall or Blocking Terrain is destroyed as per standard rules."

* Quake - as is but even if target takes 0 damage, still knocked back 2 spaces (so yes Impervious and Invul targets are still knocked back)

* Battle Fury - as is but add: "If figure is adjacent to more than 1 opposing character, +1 Attack per adjacent character when using a close combat attack(max +3)"

* CCE - option 1)+2 damage or 2) place target to an adjacent square (with the same elevation)to both the attacking and opposing character and after damage is dealt. Essentially moving the target directly to his left or right.

* Hypersonic - Option 1)as is or 2)Flurry -3 damage, minimum 1

* The following keywords are modified: Legion=Legion of Superheroes, All the versions of the Justice League(including Extreme Justice but not Super Buddies) = Justice League, All the versions of the Avengers(including Force Works) = Avengers

* All unrestricted figures that are Mutants in comics = Mutant keywords (yes, I WILL KNOW)

This particular rule :

Well, that's with the assumption that the target is just simply standing there waiting for you to shoot them at point blank range. But since these are heroes and villains, they would constantly be throwing punches, evading and whatnot, even at point blank range. Think of it this way, Deadshot tries to shoot Green Arrow in the head at point blank range, of course Ollie would be making attempts to make him miss (like grabbing his wrists to point the gun away, or making a quick attack). Usually in a struggle, it's either the shooter misses, or actually hits the target, but not the intended body part (shooting the toes instead of the heart, for example). This does not apply to ALL the point blank tussles, of course, but I can see how Geoff's ruling makes sense.

Psychic Blast already does that for the most part, chief, just as Exploit Weakness does for close combat. Having the choice on RCE as +2 damage or acting as Sharpshooter ability to allow the character to use a ranged attack instead of close combat (the ability to ignore Combat Reflexes) and also act as Trickshot-lite even when based is good enough for our purposes to show the character is THAT good when using ranged attacks.

Heres the problem with G2 for now Sir Javey as per confirmation kay Jigs dun.
1.) No tables na malalaki / kulang pa ung maliit actually and definitely only a few chairs lang available just enuff for 2-4 players.
2.) Kung enuff na...up to 8:30PM lang tayo pwede maglaro dun as per policy ng mall.
3.) Not sure kung saan pa ung playing area.

-Sa ngayon gumagawa pa ng paraan si Jigs para ma "condition" yung guards na pwede maglaro dun.
-if we play there hindi tayo pwedeng lumampas ng 8:30PM so agahan nlang ng lahat like 6:00PM magsimula, which i doubt can be done.
-with these dilemnas malamang Galeria muna talaga tayo this Wednesday until Jigs can find a way to normalize the situation there at Glorietta.

...I might drop by there tommorow morning so update ko kayo mga bros. Pls update me din if madaan kayo dun and get the latest from Jigs and staff. Late nga pla dumarating si Jigs dun so its best that you go there around lunch. :cool:

hi, geoff, can i make a suggestion on your neo ATC rules, is it possible to make, modern age limited to all expansions with white power only namely Avengers, JL, Mutations, Crisis, Invasion and Arkham? golden age is ok as well as silver age because forces and legacy started with feat cards, not to mentioned mutant mayhem which came first prior to forces. even though im not playing in ATC, i just want to make a suggestion. :)

I chose CD/AW because those were the expansion sets that were first designed by Seth. Now, admittedly there are a lot of hits and misses but the parameters were set there (9/17, mid to late dial boosts, more comic-accurate powers). Those were also the sets that got Keywords early on (even before the actual benefits were set in stone). The consensus among ATC regulars is also supportive of it so I stand by that call.:cool:

Yup, Dnd and Heroclix both have some great unique moves, dapat nga i bridge natin yung gap like we did nun sa HeroClix vs HorrorClix awhile back...these 2 games are so similar we actually pulled it off.
I mean, how happy would it be to see Batman dish it out against Drizzt?...Wulfgar fighting Cap? or...The Collosal Red Dragon against Fing Fam Foom?? Wouldnt that be great???

Now with H.Clix in limbo for the duration...and we as Judges can now make all kinds of (good) changes to make it more interesting. Im planning to actually inculcate some of the Dnd, Mageknight,SWM and Horrorclix rules here in some of our clix tourneys at Galeria on Wednesdays and some Saturday games too.
...maybe some of our WOTC players can actually try out Heroclix? ...and vice versa.

We start with the rule changes first, and maybe someday, we can even think of a way na of how we can make Dnd Cards for our Heroclix Characters rin..:grin:

:bolt: you can use the points in any combination of feats, hirelings or "level-up" your characters

:bolt: you cannot level up a character to a version that does not have one of the "Classes" but you can level it up to a different class even if it will have the same Class as one of the others (sa start lang kelangan walang pareho). Example: Superman Blue(Reporter) upgrade to R Superman (Celebrity) pero may ibang may Celebrity keyword.

:bolt: you can "save" any leftover points for the subsequent round but you cannot change our choices (i.e. remove feats, hirelings)

Updates:

:bolt: At the start of the round, after placing objects, each player places 3 Special object tokens 8 spaces from the starting area (even in hindering terrain). These are "treasure chests". An adjacent character may take a power action to open the chest and roll 2d6. if the result is a "magic" item, place the Special Token under the character which it carries when it moves:
-2 - Trap! Character takes 1 unavoidable damage.
-3 - empty
-4-5 Potion of Healing - As a free action, heal the Character 1d6/2 clicks. Remove the token after used
- 6-7 Enchanted Weapon - +2 Atk
- 8-9 Enchanted Armor - +2 Defense
- 10-11 Magic Book - +2 Range
- 12 - Artifact - Choose any type of item from the results from a roll of 6-11 but increase the bonus by 1

If the Character carrying the token is KO, the token remains in the square and can be picked up by another character that moves adjacent to it (as per Super strength rule on objects)

These objects are not carried over to the next round (sorry!) :cool:

Can you destroy these "treasure chests"? Do they count as hindering terrain (movement, line of fire, etc)? Can you use them for "Nanobots"?

wow, may treasure chest na, its like MageKnight Dungeons/Pyramid concept is thrown in the middle to make it more very thematic, Heroclix mixed with DDM and MK, sounds very interesting to play, dapat yung map thematic din, like using F4 starter map, Horrorclix map, The Great Arena map and/or Dawn of Map, dapat walang space map or map with buildings, para hindi mawala ang theme, not to mention prison map also and the museum map.

Rules Update for this Saturdays War-Clix:

:bolt: Neo-ATC rules in effect

:bolt: 10% Cap on Feats in effect

:bolt: 1 Bystander can count as one of the troops. This bystander must be more than 5 points. Other bystanders will be treated as standard bystanders (regardless, the Bystander trooper will not count toward Theme Bonuses).

:bolt: You can have more than 4 troops but no less

:bolt: Leaders are treated as as if they have the Vendetta feat against each other.

:bolt: Stronghold: Your starting area is your territory. You must place 1 special token to represent your command center. Treat this token as Blocking terrain that has 20 clicks with Impervious and ignores penetrating damage. Use a sheet to track damage taken. If an opponent drops it to 0, you lose. Ranged attacks cannot be made on this token unless the attacker is within a square of the Stronghold.

While in your territory, one friendly character heals 1 click at the end of your turn. If any trooper is KO-ed, you may instead bring it back (on its last click). Victory points from that trooper is still earned by the opposing player.

:bolt: Morale: If a friendly character is KO-Ed and is in a square with a clear line of fire to any of your friendly characters you must roll 2d6-2 per 50 points of the point value. On a result of 1-4, place an action token on all those characters (causing normal push damage); if the character is pushed in this way, ignore all effects that prevent pushing damage.

Factory sets are the complete set of figures from a particular set (such as Secret Invasion or Crisis) including Uniques and Super Rares...

In this tournament's case it will be a Legacy Factory Set which means you'll have a chance to get an Oracle, KC Wonder Woman, KC Green Lantern, KC Flash, Ares, Prometheus, etc... the uniques in this set are still the most playable and most desired figs... :cool:

:bolt: When loveteams are adjacent to one another they get the following bonuses:
- +1 ATK(lovestruck),
-1 additional token Probability Control (as per Theme) that only works on their partner(Ibibigay ko sa iyo ang lupa, ang langit...)
- The lower point Partner can use Mastermind to his/her beau (I'll die without you)

However, if a partner is KOed, the remaining partner gets a penalty of -1 to all stats. (Lost without your love).

In addition, the opponent who succesfully KOs both partners get +50 additional Victory Points (All's fair in love and war)

Note: You may only choose 1 partner for 1 character even if you have several on your team that are linked more than once (i.e. Superman = Maxima, Wonder Woman, Lois... isa lang pares, Krypton boy!)

Format: Heroclix/Horrorclix Brawl!

*400 points
*Golden Age, Multiverse for Heroclix, must be 100 pts. or lower
*Any expansion for Horrorclix, no limit on point value for each fig

*Force can be either all heroclix figs or all horrorclix figs or mixed

*No feats & plot twist cards allowed
*Darkness BFC in play for every game (cannot be ignored). No other BFCs are allowed.

*HSS is considered countered for the duration of each game.

*Bystander Tokens can be considered as "victims" per horrorclix rules. They can fight, but they can be slayed also! Each player must use exactly 6 bystander tokens &/or victims in play. Bystander tokens are counted as part of the build total.

If your team comprises at least 75% Horrorclix figs, it is considered "thematic" and gains theme bonuses as provided in heroclix rules. Otherwise, for "mixed" teambuilding, horrorclix figs are excluded in checking for theme bonuses (similar to bystander tokens).

For simplicity in determining victory points, we will follow the Heroclix rules.

If a player uses horrorclix figs in his team, he must follow the 4 phases: preview, suspense, hunting and hourglass when doing turns.

Monster: A playing piece that represents a personality in the game. (glossary - horrorclix rulebook) - This can also refer to heroclix figures.

When using the frenzy action, do not reduce damage value when attacking heroclix figures.

Yup, the Sentinel rocks at a single fig format na 100pts. Long life,decent attack, wont stop even when continually pushed at pwede pang mang capture...Game Over!!!

If you are goin to have a 100pt/200pt single fig tourney like the ones we did at Makati (3 to 4 years ago) then the Sentinel really should be banned.
Sa 100pts...characters with regeneration coupled with auto regen, protected, ap, fortitude (if the 10% rule on feats are ignored ha?) etc will do quite well.
Theres Logan, Deadpool here to name a few...sa 200pts theres The General whos fully loaded with that deadly regen clix all the way from his 5th click (ata) downwards?.

This is a fun format that can be done in a small map. Masaya din dito ang fatal 4 way. :grin:

Vet icons Supes is still a force to be reckoned with but honestly he's not the most difficult of the Supes to beat.:noid: Si prime okay but mag E2 or KC ka na lang with back up, it will last longer and be more painful. (Still si Superwhine Prime is still dangerous, and unlike Vet Icons, he doesn't take pushing damage. Though one on one i'd think depende sa initiative.:))

Or forget about Supes and use Thanos! Though personally i'd use Ganthet. As my old signature used to say "Beware the smurf!":laugh: (Personnal preference lang naman)

Here's a tip as per experience in this type of scenarios...
- Auto Regen is a very good way to stay longer in this game. Anyone has a The General fig hidden there somewhere?
- Dont use too powerful a fig kasi baka pag initan kayo. So malamang yung magsu superman or KC Flash dyan e unahin lang patayin. hehehe
- Befriend the players: Politics plays a BIG part in winning this game
- Have fun, it pays to just loosen up while your fig gets manhandled.
- There's a 2 hour time limit...so you can do a Rick Flair and just stay out of the middle while they kill each other!!! This may backfire though for other players might see your "great" strategy and just decide to take the battle to you.
- If at anytime after one hour has passed and marami pa ring "nangingitlog" sa gilid, I just might declare another old Condition: and that is Inferno...every round a side gets burned, and no one is safe coz it is also unavoidable when it comes to damage.

So have fun, and be happee. The prize will be worth it...I hope.
