Last match so get your votes in!

I was playing Heroclix one day. While building my team, I looked at my selection for 103pts characters and realized that U HT Batman and R IC Hulk both cost the same. This got me thinking. Just because they are Heroclix equals doesn’t translate back to comics. I think most of us would agree that Hulk could beat Batman in a fight.

Thus, the Clix vs. Comix TOC was born! Every entry will be close to the same amount of points Heroclix wise, but this will be their comic forms fighting!

Rules:
This will be a standard single elimination tournament with 32 combatants. There will be 2 to a fight. They get no knowledge of each other (unless they have fought in the past). The only thing they get is the Heroclix figure of there enemies, and a PAC so they know what the opponent looks like and a bit about what they can do (this can be misleading however, like if they face Electro and think he will try to poison them). They will have 5 minutes to prepare. This is a fight to the death or KO or 1 minute complete incapacitate, whichever happens first, and they must fight (no waiting for the opponent to die of starvation or for the terrain to dispose of them). They have with them what they normally carry and what there fig has if it is different. (Like how Bullseye doesn’t carry a gun, but he has one on the fig). If the fig that is being used is the rookie, you do NOT have to treat the fighter like that. (unless the characters powers change dramatically ie: Rouge)

When you vote, please try to justify your answer. You don’t have to write an essay, just a short explanation will do.

I would like to thank Whoclix for the bios, ‘cause I could never write ones like that myself.

Terrain
There are 10 terrains that are all 5 miles in diameter. They will be chosen randomly.
With out further delay…

Terrain:
Hundred Acre Woods By Magnito
A scenic landscape that is a mixture of rolling hills thick forests and a little river. A place so nice it could only exist in the mind of a child like Christopher Robin. Christopher is the only human here, and will most likely avoid the combat. There are several animals though, including a donkey, two kangaroos, a rabbit, a pig, an owl, a tiger and of course, a golden bear.

VINDICATOR Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vindicator)
Heather Hudson was the wife of Guardian aka James MacDonald Hudson; the leader of the Canadian team Alpha Flight. When Guardian died in battle, she found herself leading the team. From the villainous Omega Flight she salvages a copy of her husband's electromagnetically powered battlesuit which enhances her strength, grants her flight, allows her to fire beams of concussive force and a protective force field. Taking the code name "Vindicator," which was also formerly used by her husband, she found herself fighting alongside the Avengers as they liberated Atlantis from undersea warlord Krang.

MANDARIN Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandarin_%28comics%29)
Outcast from Chinese society the man who became the Mandarin stumbled upon the "Valley of Spirits." There he discovered a Makluan spaceship and ten rings of power. Using the rings, the Mandarin returned to China and started his plans for world domination. The rings shoot ice, fire and electro blast, "black" and "white" light, a disintegration ray, a mento-intensifier, vortex and impact beam and a matter re-arranger. He was stopped by his arch enemy Iron Man. The Mandarin led the ninja clan, the Hand, and is responsible for Psylocke's martial arts training. He, himself is an expert martial artist who can split steel with his bare hand!

Mandarin says "Feel my POW-AHHH!".

10 rings trumps the Canadian super suit.

Mandarin for the win.

Ice, fire, darkness, light, desintegration, mind control, etc.

My vote: Mandarin

Yea, Mandarin does have more versatility. Athough Vindicator can probably pull a win some of the time, not often enough.

My vote: M

I don't know, this is a guy who can slug it out with some of the top of the line Iron Man armors (all of which are more powerful then the guardian armor), and win (sometimes even facilitating Tony's win for some warped or twisted reason).

Maniac_nmt has already said what I was thinking. If Mandarin can give Iron Man a run for his money, he should be able to trounce Vindicator pretty easily, as Iron Man>Vindicator in my mind.

Mandarin is insanely powerful and smart, Vindicator doesn't stand a chance.
My Vote- Mandarin

This first round has been quite interesting. Some maches are down to the wire, others were complete slaughters, and 3 characters have already been handed the title from some people. This match is not really close. With those 10 rings, he trumps anything her suit can do. She could probably win here or there, but not anywhere near 50%. My vote...
MANDARIN

and 3 characters have already been handed the title from some people.

Now, in their defense, the three are the top candidates ;)

Looking at his previous showing we know that Obsidian is monstrously powerful, taking someone on the line of an upper SHW or Cosmic being to beat him one-on-one (like old Swampy). So barring the appearance of someone like that it wasn't unreasonable to think he could sweep this.

And then, along came not one but two characters who fit that mold!

Brainiac 13 also has a history in ToCs, tearing through his opponents, able to shrug off Superman one-on-one. And Mordru takes on the entire Legion. Two extremely versatile and massively powerful upper SHW-Cosmic beings with a history of handing large numbers of powerful opponents.

Oh, and Mandarin takes out Heather. If he can handle Tony and his suits he can handle Heather.

Heh, I wasn't even counting Obsidian, but Supergirl instead. If people say Obsidian is that good, I guess that makes 4. :p

Chalk down number 5, cause this Thor will bust out some seriously stupid Silver Age stunts against the top end foes.

Until they separate him from his hammer for sixty seconds and then ol' Don Blake is in for a world of pain. ;)

Mandarin and his versatile rings will take out poor Heather. Sadness for her....

And not that he would win but arent some of those guys able to be attack psychically thus making Shadow King a pretty tough nut too. I think this tourney is wide open and it will really come down to the matchups. I thiunk the only one we can really right off so far is Giganta

Pulsar, Parasite, Mandarin and Jay Garrick are basically screwed. =D

How are Parasite and Mandarin out of luck? Parasite can absorb Thor's abilities while Mandarin is not only familiar with Thor (and probably has at least one strategy for dealing with him) but has a force-field and other devices that could temporarily keep Mjolnir pinned down away from Thor. Again, if it's Silver Age Thor, he's in big trouble if he's separated from Mjolnir. :)

The other two are screwed, yeah. :)
