Ok, I opened this option up towards the end of last season, and I can do so again this season.
There are a few maps Wizkids has made available on-line. Junkyard Map, Lab Map, Danger Room Maps and Space Map. I've posted the link in Fantasy League Rescource thread.
If you want to play on them instead of the same 13 Creation Matrix Maps, let me know.
However, these mapd don't have icons for your figures and objects, so you'd have to be ok with running, without those nifty tokens that Creation Matrix provides. And if you take a long time to make moves, this might not be the best option for you, as you will inevitably make more mistakes when not using tokens.
However, if despite that, you really like those maps, and would like to play on them, shoot me a PM and if I can, I'll rotate them through your games (provided some of your opponents also want to play on them)

thats the same price they charge for a mail away LE figure like the Man of Steel coincidence I think not. the Collectors advatnge LE is no longer free
ok my mistake i found out that was a misprint it should be 3.99 scratch that
I'd probably against it cuz I am one of those people that make 50 times more mistakes without the markers....
but if we need more maps...to help rouge2 plug it...cyberboard has like 3 times the amount of maps creationmatrix has...it takes a LITTLE time to figure it out to get started..you don't really need to fully learn it to do all it's capabilities...all I use it for is to just place stuff. And since you can save the map you're playing on with all the pieces in place on your computer...it saves a BUNCH of time since you don't have to replace everything...you just open up the file and that's it. The only thing is that if you have two different saved files (one at home, one at work), you just have to update a little on whichever one you're working on...or if you have a flash drive just save and save over the old one.
So yeah...end plug. ;)

Actually, they gave an announcement almost two weeks ago (or more) saying that's a typo and it is the usual 3.99, and to dis-regard the 7.99 price

I heard this was an error and is not correct...it still is 2.99....did they change it again?

Yeah I agree, it would be nice to have some of the newer maps to play on though. Is there any chance that CM will ever add new maps?
I'd probably against it cuz I am one of those people that make 50 times more mistakes without the markers....

It's free although you can donate to the dude (who I've never met).

Like Tanis, I gotta have those markers to make PbP work for me. And the Danger Room-linked map just crashed on me, so that's definitely out.
Maybe if you give us some time to check out Cyberboard, Turtle, we can give you feedback on it. More map options would be nice.

With the warehouse? In the end, didn't we find it DID match the real map but it was actually Creation Matrix that got it wrong. I'll need to go back and look.

It was definitely close, in fact after your critical success healing roll for 4 clicks back to Atom Smasher I was almost certain I had lost.

If I had gotten the 6 it would have healed him for 5 with the bonus and back into charge and 17 Def - that would have helped. I also learned my LOF lesson on Giants this game I forgot that no one blocks LOS to a giant otherwise I might have positioned better.

BTW, I know turtle mentioned something about our post game 3 upgrades. Are we allowed to wait until after the draft or scenario or what? I'd pm him but I imagine he's got a million PMs right now. (Man, I keep trying to type the plural of "PM" without looking like the acronym for "that time of the month" but it just can't be done)
Oh and speaking of PMing turtle, did you get my PM re: the trade with Larry Boy? Just wanna make sure that it goes into effect before the draft :laugh:

Phew! After being away for a few days, and with my limited internet access, it's taken my all wekk to catch up with this thread! A few points:
1) PLEASE NEW MAPS!!!! This Cyberboard thing sounds great to me. I hate just having the CM maps, and if Cyberboard is free and has 36 maps I see no reason not to switch to it. Where can I get it from?
2) Doom still doesn't have a partner for the scenario match. Who wishes to challenge him? He would particularly like to test his mettle against someone from that alternate universe if at all possible.
3) How long until the current game ends? Mine is crawling (although that has been as much my fault as my opponents).

Seems the least I could do after all your work with the league, as long as you're willing to post it down under (it's not overly expensive). Re-paints are my speciality. I'll post links and a tutorial sometime this week (if work dies down a bit when the Americans take their long weekend). I suspect it will be nutty crazy here for the first few days of the week as most U.S. clients try and tie off as many projects as possible before the holiday.

So I got Zombie Hulk (the one I wanted the most), and palyed him, and he got taken out before doing anything.
Although, I was playing a theme team, and my opponent was playing 1000 pts of his best uniques, and I still won. I think he's still a great clix.
And my theme, Gods and demons. I used Loki, Enchantress, Ulik, the three memebers of the wrecking crew, Executioner, Zombie Hulk, and a bunch of brood to act as Demons/takis. Oh and one moloid who got the KO hit on Black Bolt.
I was very suprised to win, Loki did quite well, if your opponent doesn't expect much of him.
Anyways, I found a zombie Wolverine for $100 after shipping on Ebay and couldn't resist. He's mine and hopefully I'll pick up America soon too. But I'll be waiting for more of a $75 price on him.
I can live without Spidey for a while.
On another note, I like that I can get all my uniques in one case..
However, it's kinda weird that Vet of characters are more rare than Uniques.
I got a whole case, got 16 uniques, and had made arrangements to sell all my dups (of REV's and Uniques) to pal for $40 buck (thus making my case $40 less), well he got 4 uniques, and alot RE version, but he really wanted a Vet Thor or Vet Surfer or Vet Hyperion, all of which I only got one of. Kinda felt bad for him.
Seems a little off to be able to get two Thanos in a case, but only 1 Vet Thor.

I think Wizkids has to re think their whole More uniques policy - I did just fine finishing sets the old way. I have yet to see a Hyperion figure or a Mantis, I pulled well yesterday in the marquee (played poorly) and the xtras that I got, V thor, vet Dr Spectrum REV Kang, Korvac (#2) . I also found out that I got a Starhawk Dial but the wrong top - I am not going to send it as I have already sent WK two packages I m only missing 20 figs for the set and only need two U (binary and manchine man).
I am thinking that I might go back to the Case for Origins - but I am afraid for how much I might pay if it cost $90 for a brick from my venue

Thanks but I am not into the purple ring and it ends up throwing off my Collectors mentality anyway. I have had a few offers for my extra power princess but I would rather make a few bigger deals than the single shots being sent my way.
I was going to call my venue and find out how much for a case this week so I can shop around.

I'm all about supporting the brick and mortar stores, but unless Origins looks to be just an absolutely unbelievably cool set, I will probably only get a couple bricks (which is sad, because I haven't not bought a DC case since way back at Cosmic Justice).
The quality is better now, for the most part, but when there are so many other things I could be doing with my money that feel more 'worthwhile' or would hold their value longer (adoption, home improvements, furniture, paying off our house early ...), I just can't see spending that much on little plastic men.

I've got a lot of guys that are pretty close to being KO'd. I'll probably lose Cheshire this turn but, unless the dice turn against me, I should be able to take out Arwyn and Wulf next turn.
Then, it'll be the four remaining banged-up members of the Six versus Judges Hershey and Anderson. I might be able to hang on for the win.

Ok, had some tough choices this week, so I hunkered down.....
I had a sum of money saved up for a Wii, 3 extra controllers (and nunchucks), a classic controller, two games (Probably Zelda and Ultimate Alliance), and then some left over for some classic gaming downloads.
Then it hit me this week. That sum of money could pay off my credit card debt, my life insurance premiums for the year, and my next car payment.
So with a shed tear, I became debt free (for the most part, still have a car payment each month), and am now doomed to be Wii-less for another 4-5 months.
On the upside, this set me free to go and buy FFIII for my DS, Marvel Ultimate Alliance for my Xbox, and a brick of Supernova this week.
So if any of you are down for playing MUA online, let me know. If any of you want my friend code for FFIII, let me know. If you want the zombie cap that I pull in my brick, let me know, so that I can laugh at you and say "no!"

Well I feel you pain as well. Had #13,000 after paying lawyer fees. Spent $9,000 in dept and medical bills.
We stopped, bought some clothes (me and my wife havn't bought any for a while) did a big grocery shopping, bought some christmas presents, got my case, and bought a zombie.
Now, to balance the check book, and pay off some more things that have been oustanding with whatever is left.
Way to make the right choice, Thawmus. It's not a fun decision to make, but it definitely pays off.

Hulk (dunno why, just haven't had any Hulks in the sets, so I like this one)
Wolverine (he's an Exile)
Col. America (cuz he's not Spidey)
Spidey (dead last due to zero range and energy explosion)

Btw, Ultimate Cap is my favorite Ultimate character of all time, so I'm going nuts with his first costume right now. The team I'm running currently is:
Captain America
Spiderman
Iron Man
Deadpool
You get the Cap comic pretty early, and while it's tough to beat at the time you get it, it's totally worth it just to get all the costume's unlocked and pump his Shield Damage up.
I run Ms. Marvel, Cap, and rotate the other two. With that set-up I mow down opponents relatively easily. MM gets scary powerful as she grows.

I like Nick Fury, Cap, Daredevil and Spidey. I rotate in Wolverine, Invisible Woman, Thor and Iron Man (all on my "team").
I think I'll try once more to beat the game using the characters I haven't used that much. (Iceman, Dr. Strange, Deadpool).

So I ordered some extra Skrull Rookies from the older sets (3 of each of the 3 types from CT and IC).
I'm gonna take the Skrulls from the older sets and replace my Badoons sculpts.
Now I'll have a really fun Skrull Army!
All I need now is Raksor for my LE Skrulls.

MGM has decided not to ask Peter Jackson and his creative team to handle the Hobbit and the LOTR prequel.

Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson and his partner, Fran Walsh, won't be tackling a film version of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit or a second proposed Rings prequel film now that New Line has told them the studio will be seeking another director, Jackson and Walsh told fans on the OneRing.net Web site. Jackson said that New Line producer Mark Ordesky told Jackson's manager, Ken Kamins, that the studio was moving ahead with the project without Jackson and Walsh because the pair declined to agree to do The Hobbit as a condition of settling a lawsuit against New Line to recoup income from the Rings films.
"We have always said that we do not want to discuss The Hobbit with New Line until the lawsuit over New Line's accounting practices is resolved," Jackson and Walsh wrote. But Michael Lynne, co-president of New Line Cinema, insisted that Jackson and Walsh commit to the project before the studio would settle the suit. When Jackson and Walsh declined, "Mark Ordesky called Ken and told him that New Line would no longer be requiring our services on The Hobbit and the LOTR 'prequel,'" Jackson and Walsh wrote. "This was a courtesy call to let us know that the studio was now actively looking to hire another filmmaker for both projects."
Jackson and Walsh added: "Given that New Line are committed to this course of action, we felt at the very least, we owed you, the fans, a straightforward account of events as they have unfolded for us. ... This outcome is not what we anticipated or wanted, but neither do we see any positive value in bitterness and rancor. We now have no choice but to let the idea of a film of The Hobbit go and move forward with other projects." Those include a film version of Alice Sebold's supernatural novel The Lovely Bones.

Ok, had some tough choices this week, so I hunkered down.....
I had a sum of money saved up for a Wii, 3 extra controllers (and nunchucks), a classic controller, two games (Probably Zelda and Ultimate Alliance), and then some left over for some classic gaming downloads.
Then it hit me this week. That sum of money could pay off my credit card debt, my life insurance premiums for the year, and my next car payment.
So with a shed tear, I became debt free (for the most part, still have a car payment each month), and am now doomed to be Wii-less for another 4-5 months.
On the upside, this set me free to go and buy FFIII for my DS, Marvel Ultimate Alliance for my Xbox, and a brick of Supernova this week.
So if any of you are down for playing MUA online, let me know. If any of you want my friend code for FFIII, let me know. If you want the zombie cap that I pull in my brick, let me know, so that I can laugh at you and say "no!"

I bought the wii 1 extra controler, zelda (have not played yet) and red steel . also bought FF 3 (realy good) and I have marvel ultimate aliance for teh xbox 360 (would be terrible to play on the wii)
let me give you some thoughts on the wii
it feels like virtual reality. wii sports is so much fun that you have to play it to realize. my favorites golf and boxing
golf is so much fun so is baseball but golf is made better for this type of system
only thing I dont like is the wii controler is a bit heavy to hold steady red steel was dificult to play because the controler is shaped like a TV remote but heavier.
So can we wait until after the midseason scenario to do our post-game 3 upgrade, or do we have to upgrade before the scenario (but after the draft)?
Ooh...that will be fun. I pick Deep Shadows.

I like Nick Fury, Cap, Daredevil and Spidey. I rotate in Wolverine, Invisible Woman, Thor and Iron Man (all on my "team").
I think I'll try once more to beat the game using the characters I haven't used that much. (Iceman, Dr. Strange, Deadpool).
ohh deadpool is awsome give him the team dmg upgrade and everyones attacks do 40 more dmg all of a sudden teh cheep spidey web thrower is UBER the level 1 shooter that is rapid shot also deadpools guns start hitting for 60dmg rapid fire
also Ms marvels beam attacks take down everyone very fast I think she does the most dmg with a single attack

no Joke the studio is holding the film ransom b/c Jackson and Wife were suing over money that Jackson has yet to be paid back for. so they said he could do the hobbit if he accepts their settlement. shame on new line
As an aside: The website I had planned for being a 'draft helper' for the midseason draft won't be up in time. I got, erm... sidetracked. Instead of finishing up the 'which figure is which character' part and the 'who owns which character' part, I wound up working on a map displayer and a login function. In theory, I'll wind up with an engine that's useful for PbP, completely web-accessable, and uses less bandwidth than posting/downloading a full board summary every turn. I just need the free tiem to code it... and with Thanksgiving, a wedding, anda honeymoon coming up, and a 3-year-old who demands I play/cuddle with him when I get home from work every day, free time is going to be in short supply...
So yea, me and my lack of patience.

Btw, if we are doing a bank robbery, hypothetically, would we get some kind of stat point for escaping? Otherwise, theres not alot of reason to, since the points don't matter. By getting in and out quickly and stealing all the money, I would in affect be punishing myself and the heros by denying them stat points.

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that I'm back from GenCon and that I had a great time. Didn't have any heroclix events there, unfortunately, but still plenty of cool stuff to do, and I picked up some great deals on clix boosters as well (Icons for 2 bucks and Mutant Mayhem for 4).
Haven't managed to pick up more than 3 boosters of Super Nova yet, but the 3 I got yielded an U Graviton, U Jack o' Hearts, R Kang, E She-Hulk, E Mantis, RV Super-Apes, RV Raza and RE Shiar generics and a R Vance Astro, so I'm certainly not complaining :)
On a Super Nova related note, heroclix is pretty hard to come by here in Flagstaff, AZ (no gaming stores at all anymore...), so if anyone of here has stores nearby that have and sell Super Nova bricks for reasonable prices, please let me know. Hopefully we can work something out :)

MGM Weighs In On Hobbit
A day after Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson said he's bowing out of a film based on J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, MGM is saying the matter is far from closed, Variety reported.
Jackson had told TheOneRing.net that he and partner Fran Walsh were bowing out after New Line, which produced the Rings films and has production rights to The Hobbit, told them the studio was moving ahead with the project without them. Jackson has said he won't discuss The Hobbit until a lawsuit against New Line over Rings accounting practices was settled.
But MGM, which owns the distribution rights to The Hobbit, on Nov. 20 told Variety through a spokesman that "the matter of Peter Jackson directing the Hobbit films is far from closed." New Line had no comment about Jackson's statement.
In his online statement, Jackson said that New Line executive Mark Ordesky, who shepherded the Rings trilogy, argued that New Line is dumping Jackson because the studio has a "limited time option" on the film rights, obtained from Saul Zaentz.

Sounds right to me - he wanted to do it they just wanted him to drop his lawsuit. the only thorn in their nefarious scheme is that Jackson will be quite vocal about the problem and remind the Legion of LOTR fans that he is not involved, what happens to them when the old cast that is needed Elrond, Bilbo, Gandalf refuse to be part of it b/c of JAcksons absence

One booster even had two Whirlwind feat cards (flat) inside. The only bent or broken things I had was one bent Meteorite card and an E She-Hulk snapped off her base.

With all this talk of Super Nova going on, I just wanted to make sure that my earlier post didn't get lost in the crowd.
Since it's rather hard to find Super Nova (or any other heroclix stuff) around Flagstaff, AZ, I was wondering if any of you fine people would be able to help me out.
I really want a brick of Super Nova, and I'd REALLY like the Cosmic Doom so internet stores aren't much help, so if any of you out there know of, or has stores nearby that has bricks of Super Nova for reasonable prices I would be very interested in one. I would be happy to pay for shipping, and can arrange for payment through paypal, so please let me know (either here or through PM) if you can be of any assistance. Right now me and Mikey are in the middle of turn 9, but he has said that he will not be able to post after today because of the holiday. So I'm wondering if we will have enough time to finish up or not.

And I'm pretty sure the Sinister 6 are ready to throw down so I'm hoping by the weekend to get the midseason game going.

if a figure is "injured" in game 3 and plays in game 4 and rolls a crit miss or is crit hit, does he go down for the season? Or, do both crits have to come in the same game?
all of my figures only add up to 462 so this is crutial to my next game.
They don't automatically go down for the season but after the game Turtle will roll a dice and if he rolls a 5 or 6 I believe they are out for the season. You may want to check the front page to be sure though.

Ok, to start with Mbauers has traded his Ult Prof X to the struggling Fantastic Four. Larry Boy will pick up this wheelchair-ing MC-ing man for only 53 recruitment points and his draft pick. Of course Mbauers will be giving his draft pick over to Larry Boy.
Next in line is me. We've the Ult Fan 4 will be ditching Dr Fate for some recruit points. He'll be going over to Doombot 3.1's Defenders, and will odly be named "Dr Strange" for his own protection I guess. He's getting Dr. Fate at a fair 29 recruitment points and his right to Black Cat.

So, the HorrorClix gallery has the an Alien from the AvP set. "Dial-wise" it's 100% compatable with heroclix. If the rest stay that way, I'm gonna be awfully tempted to pick up the pack.

Which is what it has in Horrorclix.
Plus Leaping/Climbing, Plasticity, and ESD. (oddly enough no Toughness).
Yeah I'm surprised they don't have a cabal that duplicates the effects of Damage Shield.
But the sculpt is great and it does have some great abilities.
How about 5 of those bad boys all with Armor Piercing.
A horde of charging Aliens that even if they miss will getcha with poison the next turn.
That'd be a fun 300 pt team.

Yeah. Of course according to my dial generator they should be almost 100 points each, not 50 (full dials of charge and toughness will do that).

Having said that, if you use the dial generator and switch the charge to leap/climb and the toughness to ESD, and then add Damage Shield, he comes out to be 49 pts... (this would make it's powers coincide with the HorrorClix card)
So maybe a the dial now "for heroclix" would be worth 100 pts.
Note about the scenario:
Only Team abilities, Powers and Feats get canceled.
Other abilities (like Transporter, Giant adjacency, flight/soaring & aquatic) function as normal. There was some thought around tying them to the "movement" slot, but in the end I didn't.
Just in case there was confusion.

On a related note: Kazzigum and I are(were) working on custom dials to convert every Horrorclix piece to Herroclix, with keeping their tops the same (i.e. range, points cost, cabal).

No, you still need the pre-requisite. It would be that same as if I outwitted your Leap/Climb then you couldn't use pounce.

Well ideally this is the kind of scenario I'd normally play as a "surprise". When I used to judge, the third round of the tournament was always a scenario that the players had no foreknowledge of. That made it impossible to build for/around the scenario. So they'd never know if they were about to get a huge advantage or really, really nerfed. ;)

the judge at our venue got a case for 220 + tax Im pretty sure they will sell it for around this price.

Ok, Kazzigum's Sinsister 6 has made a small pre-draft trade. His Hydro Man will be exiting and 2 stolen recruit pts with him, over to the Minions of Doom. The Minions of Doom will be letting go of the ever dangerous Stilt-Man. Not sure who the danger is to, the owner of their opponent.
In other trade new, The Defenders will be letting go of their exclusive rights to Iceman for cost of 26 pts, he will be going over the the Sentinels of Magic who depserately needed a barrier piece.
And lasly, the West Coast Avengers will be trading/selling their draft position. For a meager 28 pts given, they will then switch draft positions with the New Mutants. Now with more recruit pts on their side, who will the New Mutants pick up? And will they still be available?

Two will most likely get done in time, the other 3 I'm less than hopeful for.
Anyways, on Monday those game end, and I'll post the draft order officially.
So any last minute trades need to be to me by both players by Sunday at Midnight. That's our trade deadline to get it in before the draft.
If you know you're draft position for the most part, you can send me over your top 4 choices for draft pick through PM.
That way if there's any problems, I can maybe work it out now.

I did what I needed to do...I can upgrade Kara now! WOOT!! She needed one more SA. Her E gives her a click of RS...opens up some options.
If I could upgrade Shadow Lass, that would be nice, but unfortunately, it is hard to get DFDs without any Defensive Powers.
And Brainiac 5 totally kicked the blind girl's butt!!
Opinion -
Where do you have better odds? Rolling two dice together or each one separately?

all right this mid season match is great I have gotten the exp I needed to upgrade Nova to her LE and firelord whoo hoo
I have upgrades already for games 4 and 5 ready to go hehehe
ohh i can even run multiple power cosmic figures on my team in the playoffs if I make it and if it increases to 500 points

The odds are identical either way, the only difference is that if you roll each seperately you can see the intermediate odds between the first and second, but since you're already committed to rolling both dice it's irrelevant.
You can only make a case otherwise by appealing to superstition.

Despite being deprived of pretty much all their powers the Marauders have still managed to claw home some STATS (Vertigo feels SOOO useful without incapacitate and perplex...). Blockbuster (Sin Rhino) is now only 2 SA's and 2 KO's from his incredible LE version! :)

I think the playoffs should stay 400pts, just my opinion. Isnt that why the 2nd half of the season was 400pts to prepare for 400pts playoff? Ohhh idea, dont know if it would work or not but an idea. 1st round of playoffs 300pts, 2nd round 400pts then championship 500pts???

Last year it was all 300 pt regular season
