On post 7 is the total points you have..which is 360...so you can only draft 90 points more to make that 450 point max for beginners...

This doesn't show how many points they have left.
You'd have to subtract the amount of points they got for their discounts to find out how many points they have left.
The most points a new player has to work with is 450 (unless they get some more because of a steal)
In actuallity, because of a signing bonus, the final team build may go over 450.
Post 6 shows how many points they have left. (But ya know, sometimes my math get messed up)
Looking at that, our future rounds should go much much faster, now that a bunch of people don't have enough points to draft anymore.
There's only 3 teams that have below 15 points...;) i don't think it's going to go THAT much faster...maybe a little...but not MUCH MUCH faster...;)
Also they can still draft pogs....

Of course, if we're playing seriously, you may want to consider a farewell to arms in the event that KC GL shows up for one last hurrah, like an old man and the sea.

Similarly, if another team makes an offer on Mako, does he have to watch his points "Ceiling"? (e.g. I'm tempted to offer for a low cost figure, but I think it will put my trading partner over the top, points wise).

Nope, if you trade for a lower point character, you miss out on the point difference.
There isn't a point "Ceiling" the phrase "450 max" means the max amount of points you have as a new player to start drafting.
You could get more point from stealing.
Your team could be more due to trading or signing bonus

She played friggan' Kara on Smallville, and she's in the Aquaman pilot. She's a comic nut and we go to my shop in Austin every Wednesday together. Her brother is a comic writer, so I'll let y'all know when that comes out.
I'm trying to decide if we should hate Iceman, or worship him as our God...

Yup. And it's pretty darn cool. There is a Japanese Teleporter (my favorite, Masi), a Jeckyll and Hyde meets Mirror Master chick who has an evil alter ego (Ali Larter, the Doritos girl..and much other fame), an invincible cheerleader with a healing factor (Hayden Panatierre, Remember the Titans, A Bug's Life), a guy who thinks he can fly (Milo Ventigmilia, Gilmore Girls), an artist who sees the future, but blacks out and paints while he does so....
Good characters. I dug the pilot. I'm gonna angle for a guest spot on that and Smallville at some point.

Well trades don't happen til after draft is over.
So if you trade for points, then you'll have to wait to use those points on one character during the mid season draft.
Or you could have him draft you some characters, and when the draft is over, PM me with the trade details.

Yeah, I hung out with them at the "NBC Fall Kick-Off Party".
It was cool to chill with them, and meet Matthew Perry and all the other stars that will be on NBC this year, but I have to tell you that meeting some fellas was more exciting then anything else.
The fellas I'm talking about. John Madden, Al Michaels, Jerome Bettis, Sterling Sharpe, Chris Collinsworth, and Bob Costas. They are doing NBC Sunday Night Football and they are all incredibly nice guys. My boy and I played Madden '07 with Madden watching which was just insane! Sterling likes the Miami Dolphins out of the AFC...that was the only prediction anyone would make.
Ali's friggan' awesome, just a down to earth, take no carp woman. I've got a pick with a few of the ladies that I'm puttin' up on MySpace soon. Amanda P is real quiet, but she's bigger than most of us that were at the NBC Kickoff party, so it might've just been that she was wanting to get out of dodge.
Before I take off though, I should tell you this story...which is true and that I saw with my own eyes.
I sat at a table with Tracy Morgan, who was sick of interviews (I did my fair share too), and this reporter walks up and sticks a mic in his face and asks, "How's it feel to be on a Sit-Com Tracy, instead of doing Stand-Up and Sketch Comedy like Saturday Night Live..." Tracy looked at him and said...and I quote...."Adam walked around the garden looking down at what God hung on him...quite a piece, and said, "Lord, why did you give me this if I got nothin' to do wit' it..." God then took a rib from Adam and told him to close his eyes and that he would give him a great gift...and when he opened them, there was Eve, naked as all hell and cookin' chitlins in the kitchen!"

Yay! I got my Blockbuster (in the shape of Rhino) :)
I hope the Sinister Syndicate don't take this personally, but I needed a big, dumb, invulnerable brute for the role of Blockbuster, and Rhino seemed to fit that bill perfectly.

So apparently, when Vision said he was done drafting, I mis-interpreted and he has a few more choices.
So I missed his choice in Round 3. It's R Silver Sable. It's now updated.
Some Round 4 Draft picks later today, not sure if we'll get the entire round done or not.

Let's not also forget upgraded characters.
For example, for my Ra's, you'd need to do the dial for R Ra's, U Ra's, and LE Ra's. For Joker you're looking at LE Legacy Joker, Starter Joker, R Legacy Joker, and R Icons Joker. And that's assuming they don't upgrade.
I think it's a neat tool, but no way is it something we could require of people. I might do it just to help myself out.

The upgraded figure's actual point cost will have to be used, but just because you upgrade to V Superman, doesn't mean you can't still use R Superman for your build. You're just gaining ACCESS to V Superman.
Also keep in mind that your team build can change from match to match, so if you find out a strategy doesn't work, don't feel like you're stuck with it.

Just out of curiosity, why is everyone MSU's thematic characters? I mean, Brainiac 5 and Saturn Girl were taken by the Sentinels of Magic. The Science Police were taken by Superman Allies, when the Metropolis MCU are still available for a similar cost.
I know you guys might not think that you're singling him out, but he seems to be going for a really thematic team (well, except Huntress ;)) and, meanwhile, the guys who are already toting KC Green Lantern, the Superman Robot, and potentially Icons Supes are taking characters that aren't thematic to their teams, and that don't offer anything to their teams that they can't get somewhere else for a similar cost.
I know if I were a newbie to the league and I was watching all of my thematic draft picks being taken by other teams, I'd be feeling pretty discouraged. Especially if I'd joined the league 'where themed play is encouraged' expecting some fun, themed games.

Well, it's encouraged, not required. Which is why, if he wants someone bad enough for his theme, he can have them. This is a fantasy league just as much as it is a thematic league, and everyone should be able to draft anyone they want.
I WILL agree, however, that the LoSH probably don't need to be everyone's thrift store for wildcards........since we have a LoSH team. Calculator doesn't bother me, because nobody is running a Calculator squad (society doesn't count, IMO, because there are a TON of figures, which you can see from his roster, without the calculator TA, but are thematic for the society). But I think if you're grabbing a LoSH character just to hope that MSU spends the points and increases your draft points, you probably shouldn't do that anymore. He's already fretting about whether to get Brainiac 5 back, I doubt he's too appreciative of his roster being neutered in the process.

We did however want to encourage theme play so we didn't see a bunch of LAMP teams, or some other type of team that people usually don't want to play against 6 times in a season.
After encouraging it, we found the vast majority of players in the league like theme a lot. So we gave theme another little nudge of encouragement with the morality rule.
However, it still is a Fantasy League.

The Brainiac 5 pick was part of a deal I had going with The Vision. But then that went sour because of the likelyhood that you were going to draft him. (For 60 points, he's worth it).
Because of that, I tried to make an alternate deal, and that involved drafting Saturn Girl. Because honestly, there's not much in that price range that's still available and attractive as trade bait.
Anyhow, sorry for being the cause of your discouragement.

Well, if you want a goal, next year Cur (or whoever has those LoSH members at the end of the season) is going to have to cope with letting them go until the draft. If you win the Super Bowl, you can keep your whole team if you want. So next season, you could flip off everyone in the league and assemble a true-blue LoSH team without needing the consent of anyone, and you'd likely have all the recruit points neccessary to do it, too.

So, now I've got to be a little wiser on that ;)

Funny story.
I got pulled aside recently to talk about my productivity. A typical person does well over 100 items a day.
My manager pointed out one day where I did about 20. And it seems to me it was about the time, I don't exactly, but around the time the first draft pick was about to be started.
She asked if I had an explanation, and I looked her strait in the eye and said, "Not a good one." And left it at that.
So, now I've got to be a little wiser on that ;)
Its stories like this that make me glad I will be in school for another couple years and all my wasting of time will only get me in trouble when grades come out.

Now they've switched me to writting letters. Kinda hard to write a letter while doing this. But I just work fast, and then do this, thus becoming an average worker instead of an exceptional worker. They don't mind that.

Since there are only 3 Indy players, I'm going to get excited for their 4th round draft picks (which were posted almost a half hour ago)

Well at this point, I'm almost positive I'm not playing from work, guys. I've tried everything and anything to be able to get into the units section here at HCR, and to no avail.
Well, I've got an offline figure manager that I use. Let me find the install files, and in the meantime you get me your E-mail and I can send it over to you. That's an offer to everyone in the league. I can save the game files and whatnot...it's really pretty useful, like the offline Maps that I have.
Yeah I could be exceptional if I wanted to..but then work would get boring REAL fast and I'd probably not be happy...so I do this while working...and work is SO much better. ;)
Well working the phones, while allows for more gaming, is a torture worse than anything I've ever known.
So it was a promotion to work letters.
But if I finish my letters too fast, they put me on the phones. So slowing my production down with doing this league is a nice way of balancing out my universe.
See, the reason why no body cares whether the Indy guys are drafting thematically or not is because no one has any clue what a thematic Indy team would look like.
Indy 1: "This Rasputin guy ... I know he's in Hellboy, right? Is he a good guy or a bad guy?"
Indy 2: "I don't know. I'm just piling up a bunch of guys with 'Judge' in their name and hoping they were friends with Judge Dredd."

I am a little discouraged, which is why I have been back and forthing with a couple of people (and thank you to them for their good ideas!).
Seriously, I thought this was going to be all themed with a little flubbing here and there and some proxy here and there. Iceman425 sold it to me that way back at WWEast so that is why i got excited and wanted to join. Did not expect the competitive KC GL's and KC Flashes.
Tis ok...I am a little down, but not out. It will be sad when my little LoSH team makes Alan Scott cry home to his mama. :laugh:

Oh yeah this season is gonna be totally different and totally crazy...especially with 17 DC teams...4 of which are villains...which means 13 teams have to choose from the limited DC pool of figures we have...makes it hard to be REALLY thematic...plus there are those of us that also like to be competitive...with so many people, it's hard for everyone to be all thematic...we're all different..the more people, the more diverse choices people are gonna make...

Do yourself a favor and pick up the Hardcover Editions of the trades. They are only 35 a piece and each of them hold 3 trades and tons of extras. It is possibly my favorite read.

Ah yes! We get that here. Our Reps have two gears: Dead and Panic. Usually they sit around and do nothing like zombies but as soon as a client asks something of them they switch into panic mode (generally because they haven't actually been keeping up with daily items so they have no clue as to what the client is asking).

When this happens, will I have access to the new Supernova Thor? I ask because I noticed that there is a DC team using the new GL Aliens figures based solely on their previews being on line.
If so, She Hulk certainly becomes a more appealing draft.

Yep, you'll have access to any version that's at the same price or cheaper than your current version.
She-Hulk is on the Fan 4, Vision just went over to the WCA.
I believe we won't allow access to the Supernova characters until all the characters have been previewed...since the GL Corp have all been previewed, we could draft them...Turtle can let you know for sure...maybe if they're all previewed before the mid season draft we could use them? I think that's what happened in season 1

That was just a coincidence, we implented the new rules once they had been all been previewed to us.
I had asked the Wizkids site if there was anything else new to the rules with Danger Room, and they had said no, so we then implemented them.

Yeah, he still wears the bucket. That's actually where the Worldmind LIVES now, so he takes it off when he doesn't want to listen to it.
Although, in the recent annihilation comic, he is wearing an army vest along with his costume, which is cool.

R - No Affiliation - His early days.
E - New Warriors TA - With his "Gravimetric Pulse" at the end of the dial.
V - No Affiliation - Worldmind.
LE Richard Rider - Spider-Man TA - His growing up and teaming with just about everyone. Somewhere between E and V.
