I made a boo-boo in the magazine. It is to be noted that the bystanders are by PUUKA. I forgot to put his name in the credits. Please give Jason lots of rep for the work he does

Great job, as always!

I have too much stuff on my plate right now as it is, but after I get more settled I should be available to contribute.

I found a misprint. ;) Its in the article about LoF. The writer is talking about Spider-Man shooting Vulture when its Electro in the example picture. ;)

But, still a interesting article. :)

Great as always, the Line of Fire article was interesting and informative. Yet I still prefer my string though for weird lines of fire.

Good job.

I was somewhat disappointed by the Mark Tuttle interview, but that wasn't the fault of Bill Rock...Mark Tuttle's answers just seemed so 'canned'....I think we did get the scoop on the "Origin" set tho!

I love Inspiring Command, and the article was pretty good...but I missed that you were only mentioning un-retired figures until (I saw the choices) the explicit mention of unrestricted towards the end...I would have loved an explicit 'shout out' to some of the original Infinity Challenge figures that were previously overburdened with Leadership (Captain America and Magneto especially)

A nice choice in graphics, and here is an extra "Willem Dafoe" player tip: Every once in a while toy stores have the "Spider Man" parachuters from circa the first movie...one of the set is a near-perfect scale Green Goblin in full movie Armor...its trivial to mount on a surf-board for use with existing Heroclix dials.

A typo that is 100% my fault. The title of this month's Between the Pages should be Spider-man and His Not-So Amazing Fiends...not Amazing Friends.

Another great issue all around though!

I was somewhat disappointed by the Mark Tuttle interview, but that wasn't the fault of Bill Rock...Mark Tuttle's answers just seemed so 'canned'....

I was disappointed that we had a question that we pretty much knew the answer to already, the Wildstorm one. And the question is kinda phrased weird in blending Wildstorm and Vertigo. Those are two seperate imprints and Vertigo was a DC offshoot, never its own company.

Ah, well. 19 out of 20 ain't bad.

Thanks for the issue!
I thought the interview was pretty good. I mean if you think about it. He didn't even have to do it but he did.

It seems odd that you make this for a massive amount of people. With only a small percentage thanking you for it.
WHATS UP WITH THAT PEOPLE!
This is the real world where getting something for free is very rare.

As always, I'm honored to be on the mailing list.
Keep up the great work.

Another great job from Rock and the boys.

Now, let's get to speculating, people. Next DC set is Origin (Feb release) and I think Mark's answer to Rock's question is intriguing. Rock specifically asks about Martian Manhunter, Doomsday and Hawkman remakes. Mark doesn't answer directly (because, really, he can't), but does say that he thinks it "will make you very happy." I think both Martian Manhunter and Hawkman fit an Origin theme, Doomsday not so much. Plus Martian Manhunter has a current mini happening which bodes well for the character's inclusion. Thoughts, hopes, doubts?

Interesting character concepts. I like the transporter token.

I gave it to him more for the move and attack ability and the L/C. That seemed to be his whole thing, scooting around on his board and shooting, leaping over things, up buildings and such. For the selection, I was going for characters that weren't overly powerful enough to get a figure, but that we could expect in a BST. The point values are based on the calculator floating around here, so if some seem under/over priced, blame it :)

As always, great job! I'm very thankful to receive this very cool 'mag', the only one dedicated entirely to HC. Keep up the good work!

If I may though, a couple of notes on the "This Month's Combo" sample team:
...take an action with the 2 Clayface figures to pick up an object... Next turn...go after them with the Lockjaws carrying everyone.
Unfortunately, if the Clayfaces are holding objects, they can't be carried anywhere... which kills the whole Lockjaw/Double-Time strategy. As an alternative, though, since they have Plasticity you could have them break away and go grab an object as necessary after the team has trapped the opponent's big piece.
...boost up OMAC's attack value to lend the Clayfaces a 10 attack.
Once again, no can do. Bat-Enemy only allows the sharing of unmodified attack values, so if OMAC uses its Perplex to make its attack a 10, it can only share its natural 9 with the Clayfaces. Also, you can't combine Bat-Enemy and Perplex to get the Clayfaces a 10 either - since Perplex must be used before and not during actions, if you use OMAC's Perplex to modify a Clayface's attack from 8 to 9 before the action, then during the action try to replace attack value using Bat-Enemy, you effectively replace the modified 9 with another 9. So the best the Clayfaces can get from OMAC on this force is an attack value of 9 tops.
If you're willing to lose the versatility of Perplex on that force (it was only really there to boost the dismal attack values of the Clayfaces anyway), for a great improvement in attack value consider Mutant Mayhem's veteran Silver Sable. With her wildcard TA, she can share her impressive 11 attack when she's adjacent to the Clayfaces. She also has Leadership for the possibility of extra actions, Mastermind to let the Lockjaws take damage for her and keep her attack value high, Stealth for protection from ranged attacks, and some Blades/Claws/Fangs down the dial after her 1st click of Energy Explosion. With her 53pt cost, the 6pts left over could be used to give her the Lucky Break feat, which at the very least can keep a critical miss from taking away her nice AV.

I'm not looking for a "pat on the back" or anything, but NO ONE ever seems to comment on my "Themes like a good idea" article. Does that mean that nobody has any nitpicks with it, or is it that nobody cares? I KNOW I'm not the only theme team player out there. Should the lack of talking about it concern me or not? Any suggestions?

I know you do Bill, and believe me we appreciate it. I'm basically wanting to know if our messages are being received by the masses. Speaking for myself, I enjoy your articles. I always try to use a theme team when I play and have used your articles as a basis for setting up some teams. I haven't used an exact team from your article, but as a relatively new player, I'm finding them very helpful.

Theme teams are always my passion :classic:
you're not alone on this one.

I most frequently play with my Mutant characters, and team them up with other characters that they have been with in a certain comic story line or event.

I agree. Though I love the custom pogs (thank you for all your hard work) I would much rather see chameleon as a sculpted fig than a pog. He deserves to have such powers as stealth, perplex, outwit, shape change and probably some others that I can't think of this late at night. Rocket Racer? Sure, let's give him a sculpt too. He couldn't be any worse than some of the pre-existing figs that we have.

Just read it, and have to say another great issue, all! I really enjoy the theme teams section, as I myself enjoy trying to field competitive themers. Gonna try to give some relative feedback here. I know some of you are looking for it so here goes.

The interview was okay, while the answers were typical non-spoiler answers for the most part, they were hopeful of things to come. So I'd say the interview was pretty good and I agree with most of the questions asked.

The inspiring play didn't really catch me this time, but the other ariticles in past issues were good.

Mox box was interesting, and strategically well thought out, and I like most of the Spiderman villains so I'm happy with it.

The limelight, well, lime having a bit of a joke there with a green character, but truthfully I always thought the Green goblin was pretty good to start with, though the article was good, I'm just not sure I'd need to dust mine off. Nice strategic thinking though, the only thing I'd disagree with is pushing, unless theres a medic around the corner or you have one of those can't pass it up opportunitys pushing usually isn't a good idea.

I'll be honest I liked the combo of Clayface E with entangle, but two of them with three R lockjaws rubs me as way too cheesy, and would probably suck alot of fun out of the game. With the wide range of feats and pieces that have been made at this point, even just the current ones there shouldn't be a need to play a team with that many dupes, much less with the same purpose. It would feel like a game of checkers, except only one side would be getting anywhere.

The LOF article wasd good, not the most interesting part but worth a quick read, and Bullseye being pictured brought a bit of a smirk to my face.

The themes like a good idea was good--I liked it, but lately I've been seeing way too much ICWO on theme teams. I mean I can see that it helps, but some teams just don't have someone like oracle to depend on. With the variety of feats and bfcs there should be other ways to boost the figs that better reflect the charaters, or even in some cases fin another figure in with them. Also wanted to note that this takes a pretty good look at the individual figs and breaks them down pretty well.

Dead weight was pretty amusing, particularly in the beginning.

Liked this fix clix 101. Very good. Would have been better if there would have been a way figured out to remove the glue residue on the clear plastic from the preivous figure though.

Clix wish didn't really grab me this time but still interesting dials.

Haven't read between the pages just yet...

scenario of the month was pretty good. Though the mag is beginning to feel a little spiderman heavy from sinister. I'd like--although it would be tough--to see someone work out a way to have Spiderman face several of his enemies in one game alone and be "able" to win. though it would take a lot of feats and rules. Spidey always ends up getting ganged up on and usually gets out okay, I'd like to see a way to do it.

Standing around was something I really liked and would like to incorperate into future games I play. It'll take some getting used to but this will definitely improve gameplay in my oppinion. Almost anything can be abused, so the mentioned warnings could almost go without saying. Though well thought out, and inventive.

Lastly I just wanted to say that so far all of these have been pretty good, the articles are well informed, informative, and often amusing. Nothing has come off as condenscending and the mags have a very friendly feel to them, overall this has been a great magazine and should be acknowledged as such. I would even like to see Wizkids maybe work something out with an exclusive magazine preview every once in a while, let you guys show a figure early like other magazines.

Good stuff thanks.

I'll echo the comment about ICwO...It's so common and trivial (like Thunderbolts) that I have a lot more respect for team building ideas when I see it is left off the field.
