great funny movie with a lot of backstabbing.
i give it a 8/10.
I remember seeing this movie with a group of friends when it came out. We were supposed to see another movie (cant remember what that was) but then we switched at the last minute to this one, which I wasnt thrilled about (as I wasnt so much into "english comedy" back then)
Ive got to say I loved this film. I loved Kevin Klines Otto (which was actually my nickname since I was a kid), and Palin, Cleese and Curtis was all excellent as well (dont know if its me, but Ive never seen JLC sexier overall in any other film)
Great story, loads of double crossing and plot changes, very funny, and incredibly well done. I didnt want to see this film before, but now I cant wait to get its SE DVD in my collection.
A Fish Called Wanda - 8.75

So no one but the three of us have seen this movie? Surely all you Monty Python fans would have been pulled towards this one in your travels.

I haven't seen this in ages, although I do remember "Kkkkkken's cccccccoming to kkkkkkill me." Fortunately, I just checked this out from the library today, so I should be able to rate it in a few days

Yes seen the movie, but it has been awhile. Judging by ho much I remember of it a solid 7. Remember recommending it, but don't remember why? (not a good sign- senility or just an average but forgettable film)

Darn, Grinner already beat me to one of the best lines in the whole film. :)
Honestly, it's precisely because it's actually not "that Monty Python'ish" that I liked it. It was British humour but of a somewhat more "high brow" taste - though it definitely stooped to the vulgar at times (not unlike Shakespeare - catering to both demographics) - and wasn't just stupid for the sake of being stupid. :) Don't get me wrong - I enjoys silly/stupid humour or I wouldn't get a kick out of films like Rat Race, but a bit more "subtle" in the silliness is more my taste.
Lots of back-stabbing always make a movie get a little extra "bump" in the points, I feel and the characters in this were pretty wonderfully done. One wonders how such a talented group went wrong on their next endeavor - what is it about "Wanda" that works so great but fails for"Fierce Creatures" ?

Kevin Kline was hysterical in this movie. Heck, everyone was. But his whole bit to overreacting to JLC's "seduction" of Cleese was awesome.
Especially when he followed her into his house.

Ah, Kevin Kline as Otto/Harvey Manfredjensenden - one of my all time favorite film characters. It isn't often that the Academy recognizes acting in comedies, but they got it right on this one. Sad that they couldn't give awards to the rest of the cast as well. Cleese is, of course, brilliant as a repressed Englishman (what other kind is there?) and Jamie Lee Curtis is just plain hot. Even though I've seen the jokes countless times, they still crack me up - an enthusiastic 9.25 from me.

I love the little scene where Cleese's wife actually rattles his cover name right back at him and hardly misses a beat.

This is a great movie. A wonderful cast that has some terrific chemistry. A bit over the top but that's part of it's fun. Kevin Kline doing comedy is always fun to watch, and never moreso than here. 9 out of 10.
Finally watched it again and lmao. I can't believe how many hilarious parts I'd forgotten over the years. This one's going on my "gotta buy" list.

I saw this movie so many times in German, because my sister was sitting her university German exam, and I just sat down and watched it with her. It was much more funny in english lol.
I quite liked this movie, although I dont usually like films of this type. There were quite a few laughs, but unfortunately no stand out funny bits for me.

John Cleese is always genius and the performance by Kevin Kline was truly great.
The movie was a bit too slow for my taste, though.
And Jamie Lee Curtis is just so horribly, horribly ugly.
7/10
Oddly enough, while Im not a big fan of Jamies overall womanly appeal, she has never been as attractive to me in any movie Ive ever seen her, as she was in this film.

Saw Fierce Creatures before I saw this one, which was also very good and worth watching. It sparked me to see this one and I loved it and added it to my collection.

I named my Fantasy Football team after this movie.
