New additions to existing teams- Suicide Squad

Hi all.

Well, we had quite a few people vote on the Defenders thread (Thanks to all).

Keeping with the same spirit but changing universes Lets take a look at DC's Suicide Squad.

I think its a great idea- Have criminals trade prison time for dangerous work. I've based my 5 choices on charaters I actually know.

Ok, I am picking out 5 members that *I* would like to see make it into the world of clix:
1) Javelin

Yes the poll is pecuailry closed. And I have to say I am suprised in who made it on your list. I mean Javelin had all of what 2 appearnces before being killed and Silent Majority had one. I am just suprised that core peopel like Nightshade or Nemesis didnt made as well as lengthy mebers like Lashina/Duchess, Major Disaster(series 2). Heck I would put in votes for King Shark and knockout as well as intersting memebers

well, count vertigo would be great in clix form. i really think the power selection available would suit him well.

he can start with a decent d/v with e/sd changing to super senses. perplex would be a must moving to probability control (and maybe some outwit to give him the honor of being the SS brilliant tactician, using his vertigo effect to give his own teammates a tactical advantage).

his attack numbers probably wouldn't be too spectacular although mid dial incap and an end dial pulse wave would be fitting. i'd prolly give him a low (1 or 2) damage and a high range (8-10) with multiple targets to represent his vertigo effect messing up his opponents.

i don't see him warranting any move and attack powers, but force blast would prolly be accurate

so basically i see him with a flight base, two targets, 8 range. depending on numbers prolly in the 75 point area.

opening with 17 d/v e/sd, 9 a/v, 2 dmg perplex
mid-dial force blast, 8 a/v incap, 16 d/v combat reflexes, 1 dmg probability control
end dial 17 d/v super senses, 2 dmg outwit, 10 a/v pulse wave

at the start he's just harrassing people, trying to help his teammates but staying out of the action himself, then when he takes a hit he uses his vertigo effect to try and keep his attackers away from him and/or stun them, and when he's really hurt he turns up the volume on his vertigo even hurting his own team if he has to.

AntedoX, we're of the same sensibilities when it comes to the Count. Good work.

I, too, like ES/D, Senses, Incap, Pulse Wave (and, to a lesser extent, Explosion), Outwit, and Perplex to represent his powers. I'd also make an LE Count Werner Vertigo with Leadership, CCE, and maybe Mastermind to represent his rulership of Vlatava.

As far as team abilities go, there's two ways to go, imho.

The Rookie (from his Green Arrow solo villain days) should have no team ability (and no flight), with the Exp and Vet gaining flight and being Suicide Squad. Or, if you wanted all versions to have flight, the Rookie and Exp could be Suicide Squad, with the Vet as Calculator, to represent his time with the Squad, the Secret Society, the Injustice Society, and Checkmate.

As for the poll itself, I think Javelin and Silent Majority should have been switched for different characters. Maybe Black Orchid and Major Victory instead?

Agreed. I'd definitely like to see Major Disaster and Nightshade (although to be honest I'd be looking for their JLA and Mystics versions, not the SS ones).

I don't know, "none of the above" will be a tough contender to beat.

Yep, I'd expect ol' Boomerbutt to take the lead, but you can't have a Squad wish thread without him. (I'm still chapped we got Boomer Junior first!)

But as far as the poll goes, I'd have a hard time deciding between the good Captain and Count Vertigo, because from a clix perspective, the Count would bring a HUGE amount o' mojo to the currently under-represented Squad. Heck, the Flight alone would be a boon, but all the other stuff--Perplex, Leadership, Incap, Pulse Wave, etc--would be golden.

I'd definatly want to see Ben as a clix soon, past that Count Vertigo is top of the list too. I barely remember Javelin being on the team, so he's no priority (Punch & Jewlee would be good, Rick Flag or Slipknot too). As for the Silent Majority, he lasted longer with Force of July than the Squad and Major Victory is a better squad choice. If you're looking just for the next Madrox for the squad then the villain Multiplex whom they used against Firestorm would be him.

If I could have voted on this poll, I would have selected Black Orchid, Rick Flag would have been my second, Captain Boomerang my third. Captain Boomerang is the only one we'll probably ever see though.

Well I a lover of the squad, I would have to say Bronze Tiger, Boomer, Rick Flag, and COunt Vertigo is must. You don't have the squad without them, period. I Duchess would be ok, a brick maybe with range due to her toting a large machine gun often. But on this poll I would still have to vote for my boy Bronze Tiger.

"Suicide Squad" really ought to be the bathroom reading material for set designers, and I mean that in a GOOD WAY...so many characters (especially villains) went through "Task Force X" that it's practically a no-brainer to make the Experience version of most REVs a Suicide Squad member.

My spins:

Count Vertigo is a must, especially in terms of bringing a TAXI to the squad. His tenure should also qualify him for more than just one of his REV to be on the squad.

Captain Boomerang has a long history with the Flash Rogues as well as with SS...but given that his powers are extremely fixed, I'd be happy with another Unique (but the dad, not the son)

Bronze Tiger is a classic Batman Enemy that also made it to the Squad (see also Deadshot).

Nightshade, now starring as a Mystic in Shadowpact would be another great REV.

Duchess/Lashina is just one of the Female Furies whose time will come.

My most requested SS figure is Amanda Waller. She deserves a Mastermind-full dial with some Perplex and Outwit (and definitely end-dial Toughness) I'm not sold on Leadership, but she can have a single first click of it.

My off-the-wall request is for a remade Penguin. He did a short stint on the Squad, but if we get stuck with another REV, it would be nice to mix up the monotony of the character to have a cheap version of a 'support' type character for the squad.

It's gotta be Bronze Tiger or Rick Flagg, how can you not have the team leader whose father was the original Suicide Squad leader (Flagg), or the man whom Waller wanted leading the team from the begining (Tiger)? Plus Tiger has the advantage of being a hero with no affiliation (R) Batman Villain (E) and SS (V), sweet.

I submitted this poll and had the poll shut down 1 week later. Imagine my surprise that it got posted AFTER I closed the poll :cross-eye
