Khaaaaaaan!
7.5/10
After the horrendous tragedy that was the first movie, who would have expected this movie to have been so great? One of the two best Star Trek movies of all time.
At the time this came out, I was just starting to drift into Trekkie-dom. Heck, this movie influenced my cross-country nickname being Spock.
I went to this movie in the theater more times than any movie until the Incredibles, which is make even more surprising considering it came out the summer before my freshman year of high school, so I didn't exactly have lots of money ;)
9.5 out of 10
This is my all time favrotie Trek film (my second being Star Trek VI). The perfect blend of action and suspence, darkness and humor, a perfect villain for Kirk who actually has ties to the original series, KHAN.
The story, the characters, the villain, the pacing, the special effects, the music (James Horner did an amazing job on this one), were all top notch. I highly recommend this film to all who have yet to see it, incredibly well done and the first and best of the EVEN numbered Trek films.....you know, the ones that dont stink. :)
Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan - 9 / 10
Khaaaaaaan!
That pretty much sums it up right there:
hair rug; check!
chubby; check!
bulging eyes; double check!
hammy overacting;
check! check! check! (gimme a few more checks please?
God I love Captain Kirk.
This one had it all, Spocks death, Doohans miracles, Bone's emotionalism, Mr Roark, including a great Starship battle. I think someone mentioned the good music......
Oh, one last thing;
Movies with polyester are either really good or really bad....... this is one of the good ones.
edit: a good solid 9 rating.

Undoubtedly the best Star Trek film of all time, but also a fantastic film unto itself. The superior quality of Wrath of Khan is one of the things that drives me absolutely batty when it comes to the films that came after it. With WoK, they discovered what worked. Take a great episode from TOS, show us the ramifications of the events of that episode, and don't pull any punches! Universal used this formula with perfect results to create WoK, and then THREW IT AWAY!!!!???? The result of course was a series of films that ranged from lackluster (Search for Spock), to surprisingly good, but barely a Trek film (The Voyage Home), to complete garbage (The Final Frontier). Even after TNG took over the film franchise, the filmmakers never went back to the winning method. The closest they came was First Contact, and there they seem to have taken the info we learned of Zephram Cochrane from TOS and threw it out the window.
Glad to see the love for my favorite Trek movie, but...um...guys?
You forgot to give it a rating ;)
HA, yeah I just noticed that as well. 2 very thought out and well written posts for this film, and NO rating. Whazzup guys, lets see some digits on those posts. Lets here some for the Kobiashi Mauru (sp??) :)

D'oh!
9/10
I'd give it a perfect ten, but I've never liked that part at the beginning of the film where Spock tells Kirk, "..in any case, logic clearly dictates that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." followed by Kirk saying, "Or the one." It makes perfect sense when they repeat the exchange in reverse at the end of the film, but at the beginning the dialogue seems incredibly forced and ill fitting. It was painfully obvious after watching it only a second time that the writers were just looking for somewhere early in the script to put it, and that scene seems as good a one as any to them. The death scene with Scotty's nephew was a bit much too. Why didn't Scotty bring the boy to sickbay instead of the bridge?

Best Star Trek movie, easily. Some great action sequences. The acting's a bit over the top, but fun. Not a perfect movie, but a good ride, 8.5

9.5/10 especially for that time but STILL good today one of the best Star Trek movies !!
Like Wyldstaar said : why didn't they make more movies like this ?
Even TNG didn't follow through after the AWESOME First Contact...
It's amazing to think back on this film and see that the entire "Star Trek" franchise after ST:TWoK is a result of the success (critical, financial) of this film.
It's a 3.5 star movie that deserves a 9/10 HCR.
This film was firing on all cylinders: character arcs, FX, music, pacing, and yes...even the acting, especially from the non-ensemble cast members. The Star Trek franchise never had such good supporting performances again, except possibly in First Contact.
Two things I always enjoy when watching ST:TWoK are (1) the "Tale of Two Cities" versus "Moby Dick" dialogue, even tho it can seem very bluntly applied at times, and (2) Captain Kirk never loses...the guy is a force of nature...and in this film, more than any other...the rest of the characters are forced to accept this and must sit in awe of this fact.

Little bit of self-realization, I think this is why I like Danny Glover's performance in Predator 2. The hero takes a severe beating (emotionally, physically) but there is never any doubt about who is the top dog.
10/10

10/10 This is quite possibly one of the greatest scifi movies of all time, not to mention quite possibly the greatest piece of Star Trek ever.
I've never been a big Star Trek fan but this one of my favorite Star Trek films. Ricardo is awesome as Khan.
7.5/10
