Horrorclix Anyone???

fellow clixers,

i was reading some articles and the complete rules and errata for the new game released by wizkids, horrorclix.
i'm a fan of horror/suspense/thriller movies and this game really looks promising.
so i was wondering, if there are other individuals in our community who wants to try this game.
few questions though, supported na ba siya ng neutral grounds? was it released here yet? let us know what you think. please post whatever you feel requires expression on this thread.

I,for one, am willing to try this game out, pero baka hnde kung wala ako mahanap na singles, kase im only interested in the uniques, and the ZOMBIES

Pero puro good reviews ang naririnig ko about it, especially when it comes to brick coalation, at mga sculpts and stuff. Kaso hndi ko lang lam kung worth it 300 bucks for characters na di mo kilala, as compared to hclix...

Same here. Here's a thought, if the color coding for the Horrorclix dials are the same as Heroclix, maybe the figs could be translated to Heroclix rules. This would be just for fun. At home, when I didn't have enough figs for two teams, I mixed some old Mage Knight figs in our teams para makapaglaro kami ng kapatid ko.

At least the Horrorclix figs that some people already bought wouldn't become mere paperweights or decorations.

has anyone noticed that the crumbling masoleum map only has 11 blod spots, where do u put the 12 victim, and if i just have a bad map can u tell me where all the other maps have their blodspots.

Stone was based on Raymart Santiago, an actor who plays a superhero, Stone, but in reality he didn't know that the role he was playing would all be true. :laugh: Tapos Wetworks was fun in the beginning, kya lang nung umalis si Whilce from Wildstorm/Image pumangit na yun story. Sa umpisa, Major Player si Joel Alonday aka Grail. Di ba yun symbiote/nanobot armor nila gives its host yun wants nila physically/mentally. Grail's wants was to be the best martial artist, ang power nabinigay sa kanya, yun inner energy niya bumalot sa katawan niya. Kaya super powerful siya pero walang makalapit sa kanya. When whilce left nakalimutan na siya and humina yun powers. Sana I-relaunch nga ulit yun, with Whilce at the helm ulit. Para may heroclix na pinoy tayo. :laugh:

Yeah, but it doesn't look good for Grail. I've read some preview pages of the new Wetworks and I think Dane and Mother One are the only original characters left. :cry:

But, the new title is worth a try, as well as the WildCats and Authority books both written by Grant Morrison, WC drawn by Jim Lee, and the GEN13 relaunch with Gail Simone doing writing chores. :classic: :classic: :classic:

YES! i am definitely going for Horrorclix when it comes out. buying a brick, and i'm hoping there will be venue sanctioned tourneys too later on. i hope we can get enough people to play this game. :)

Don't worry, a lot of maps have the same problem. Mine does too. The 12th victim starting location is at F-14. If you have any other questions, just ask. :grin:

arthur, the blood spots on the map serves as "starting positions" for the victim tokens..very important ang mga ito kasi you're figs we'll need the victim tokens para mas lumakas sila..
if talagang may community like the one we have right now with heroclix lalaro talaga ako...
i also have my eye on another game (card game, para maiba naman sa clix) and if i wouls have to choose, i'll choose that game over horrorclix...
pero masyado pa maaga para magsalita ng tapos...

Hey guys is there any news when the Aliens VS Predators set of Horrorclix will come out here? I've seen some of the stats and previews of them and honestly speaking if it comes out here i'm playing for that alone. bwahaha

I'd prefer it if they made an Underworld set that was compatible with both Heroclix and Horrorclix just like the BPRD set. We don't have enough Indy. :cool:

-pwede magexceed army mo sa starting position provide i lalagay mo sila adjacent to other monsters in the starting position.
-pwede ka sumira ng portal(objects toh) and other objects by making an attack roll and getting a result of atleast 13.
-hindi ka pwede sumira ng walls. hehehe

well eto un mga nabasa ko lang naman so if may mali dito or something post niyo naman para alam natin lahat hehe

eto pa questions ko:
1. does a victim have to break away when adjacent to a monster?
2. can monsters destroy a portal or object as part of a frenzy?

btw, dun sa scenario examples na kasama ng rulebook, the format was 100pts pero 2 actions per turn. maybe sometimes the players can agree to increase number of movements per turn kasi ang daming figs na kasya kahit low pt format. just a thought to quicken the gameplay a bit. :)

-victims do not need to roll for break away ang alam ko, and they don't stop movement pag adjacent sa monsters pero they can't go through spaces occupied by monsters.

-yes i believe pwede ka sumira ng portal when frenzying kasi close combat attack lang naman ang kailangan mo bigay sa monster, but smashing tombstones however di ata pwede kasi to smash a tombstone you need to give a monster a close combat action.

Greetings, I would like to address my question to king arthur our death one champ. Oo nga pala congrats. Its regarding the slaying section in the rule book p24. It states that when a monster slays a victim it becomes blooded and gains frenzy. Is this apply to all monsters even though its not written in their power cards? If so does this also apply to all guardians and humans who saves a victim? Is this blooded thing continues or you need to slay/save a victim to re activate it? horror clix free play today was a blast.

bossing joel, arthur, charlon, cons, elvin, xandi and myself were there at ng galleria for a gruesome and bloody horror clix time. humabol pa si pareng JVX but, alas, we were already having dinner in chef d angelo then. but he did join us for some trades and high spirited Ho-Clix chat.

highlights of the day include charlonie's Reaper who could actually perform a frenzy attack thru walls (in heroclix lingo, he can charge while phasing). cons' triple vampire hunter threat with their martial artist evasive tactics, arthur's indestructable fiend, and the evil evil leprachaun (the little ba$tard) slashing monsters with his bloody shillelagh.

####. May nalaman lang ako (pero not sure to), you cannot use two cleaver symbol powers when frenzying (or attacking), so hindi pwede yung ginagawa kong penetrating agony. Which means mas olats pa si reaper (Ros for short). :( - maximum of 1 dmg against vulnerable invul monsters, 2 dmg against vulnerable toughness characters, and 3 dmg against vulnerable no reducing monsters, instead of 3 damage lage.

Tsaka Nicky buti di mo ginamit si Mummy, apparently, hindi victim ang huhunt down mo, MONSTER ang kailangan mo patayin to turn your dial haha patay na siya ng mga turn 4-5.

Sabi may LE's daw dito? Grabe kase yung Mad Monk, Parang Wolverine with autoregen (autoregen being pag umabot siya last click, balik siya sa starting click) with Invul pa.

i was playing the vet. slay 1st victim to transform him into mist so that he can phase to an opposing monster, slay another victim to get him back to his monster form. sure, i can stay in my normal form the whole game, but where's the fun in that? hehehe.

actually, some of the figs in the first expansion are rip-offs of established horror characters. gusto nila may representation sa HoClix without having to pay the license fees. syempre pinaka obvious na si vampire hunter and ghostfinders (tama bang isa pa sa kanila black guy??).
Chainsaw is definitely a copy of Leatherface from texas chainsaw massacre. Leprechaun is a generic term, but it had a movie franchise a while back. Mr. Fright might have been inspired by the Gentlemen from the buffy series.
Chtulu, avatar of Chtulu, brine witch and Deep One are all characters from HP Lovecraft. Nosferatu is a generic term for vampire, but the clix design is influenced by the 1922 silent film.

just a few observations on our gameplay so far.

yung description ng tree of the damned sa FAQ is this:
"If a target of a ranged combat attack is adjacent to a Tree of the Damned, the Tree of the Damned acts as a
space of blocking terrain when determining the line of fire."
So blocked yung LOA only if the TotD is in the way.
chineck ko na din yung description sa tombstone. ganun din pala: "if a target of a ranged combat attack is adfjacent to a tombstone, the tombstone acts as a space of blocking terrain when determining LOF."
mukhang kelangan talaga naka harang pa din yung tombstone in order for LOF to be blocked.

binasa ko na rin ulit yung rules. i think yung ginagawa natin na move-slay victim (get blooded)-close combat attack di ata pwede pag hindi pa blooded yung monster beforehand. kasi yung definition ng frenzy sa rules is this:
"When a blooded monster frenzies, it gets two actions for the price of one. Give your blooded monster a move action. When the move action has resolved, it can make a close combat attack as a free action."
So requirement is that the monster is already blooded even before making the move+close combat attack. the move is pre-requisite to the attack. Yung sa atin, when the monster slays a victim, dun pa lang sya magiging blooded. but since he can't move again after slaying, we can't use the frenzy power. Pero pag blooded na sya beforehand, pwede nya na gawin yung move-slay-close combat attack: "A blooded monster can frenzy in such a manner that it moves, slays a victim at the end of its movement, and makes a close combat attack against an adjacent opposing monster."

may naisip ako dahils sa Q ni ecchs. kung may monster ka with blooded power, he is not precluded from slaying a victim while he still has the blooded power. so if he slays a victim while he still has the blooded power, he becomes a "real" blooded monster. in the event he gets damaged while slaying another victim during frenzy, he can still make a close combat attack because he is really blooded via the victim, right?

“When a blooded monster frenzies, it gets two actions for the price of one. Give your blooded monster a move action. "The Order of the Dragon"

Background- In the grounds of Transylvania, a group of vampires discover their dark past; they are the last members of a forgotten order and the last of the Draculea family, Vlad the Impaler's lineage. Each wanting to claim the hidden wealth of Vlad III and earning the title of the next and last remaining "Impaler", the vampires turn on one another, summoning ghosts and demons, aligning with known psychopaths, and even stitching-up undead fighters to pit against the rivals to the throne in bloody combat!

Objective- Each player aims to defeat the other player by KOing all of the other player's figures, or by KOing the other player's Vampire Enforcer figure. If both Vampire Enforcer survive the slaughter, then victory is determined by points.

Army Size- Two player game; 300 points; 3 actions; each army must consist of one, and only one, Vampire Enforcer figure of any rank. No figure that can rescue victims may be played.

Time Limit- 60 minutes
Map- Any map, just remember it's still in Transylvania.
Setup- Standard set-up. Each player contributes 6 victims into the pool, and may use up to 6 plot twists.

Special Scenario Rules
1. "In my veins runs the blood of the Impaler!" - All Vampire Enforcers begin the game on their green starting line. All Vampire Enforcers are considered bloodied and therefore may use the frenzy ability. Lastly, all Vampire Enforcers cannot be affected by plot twists.

2. "Death...by impalement!!!" - Vampire Enforcers may choose to impale victims, as a different form of slaying (therefore, plot twists may still be used to aid the Vampire). Impaled victims are not removed from the game (they remain on the square where they are impaled), instead, place a special marker on top of the victim token to indicate that it has been impaled (place your Vampire Enforcer in any adjacent square after impaling). Impaled victims are considered HINDERING TERRAIN for movement purposes and BLOCKING TERRAIN for line of fire purposes.

The heirs of Vlad revel at the sight of these totems, therefore, Vampire Enforcers gain +1 to their damage value and +1 to their speed value for each victim slain through impalement (Subjected to the rule of 3). Players also receive an additional 30 points for every victim impaled.

3. "You were brought here from hell to protect ME!" - All Vampire Enforcers gain the power MASTERMIND (for heroclix players, you probably already know what it does).

MASTERMIND - Each time this character would be dealt damage, you may instead choose to have all the damage be dealt to a single adjacent friendly character with a lower point value than this character. If a character is KOd by damage dealt using this power, it is considered to have been KOd by the character that originally dealt the damage (from Marvel Heroclix Danger Room PAC)

Nah! I'm not really a great MW player, I'm just lucky with my die rolls. If you want to see the best MW player in the Philippines, check out clixboy a.k.a. atlasboy. :cool: 'Sides since Horrorclix came out, I'm thinking of retiring from MW for a second time. Time to shift my attention to a game that my entire family can play.

HoClixers, i have question: :)

if i'm using V Nosferatu. assuming i'm already at the 3rd click from the green line. the powers at this click are vampiric and snack, pero wala na yung transform power.
If i slay a victim and activate my snack power, that will bring me back to click 2 which has the transorm power. prerequisite of the transform power is to first slay a victim. but since i had already slain a victim on the very same turn, can i already transform that same turn?
i would certainly like to think so, otherwise lame duck talga sya. hehe. what you guys think?

"The Order of the Dragon"

Background- In the grounds of Transylvania, a group of vampires discover their dark past; they are the last members of a forgotten order and the last of the Draculea family, Vlad the Impaler's lineage. Each wanting to claim the hidden wealth of Vlad III and earning the title of the next and last remaining "Impaler", the vampires turn on one another, summoning ghosts and demons, aligning with known psychopaths, and even stitching-up undead fighters to pit against the rivals to the throne in bloody combat!

Objective- Each player aims to defeat the other player by KOing all of the other player's figures, or by KOing the other player's Vampire Enforcer figure. If both Vampire Enforcer survive the slaughter, then victory is determined by points.

Army Size- Two player game; 300 points; 3 actions; each army must consist of one, and only one, Vampire Enforcer figure of any rank. No figure that can rescue victims may be played.

Time Limit- depende kung madami pa oras 60 mins
Map- Any map, just remember it's still in Transylvania.
Setup- Standard set-up. Each player contributes 6 victims into the pool, and may use up to 6 plot twists.

Special Scenario Rules
1. "In my veins runs the blood of the Impaler!" - All Vampire Enforcers begin the game on their green starting line. All Vampire Enforcers are considered bloodied and therefore may use the frenzy ability. Lastly, all Vampire Enforcers cannot be affected by plot twists.

2. "Death...by impalement!!!" - Vampire Enforcers may choose to impale victims, as a different form of slaying (therefore, plot twists may still be used to aid the Vampire). Impaled victims are not removed from the game (they remain on the square where they are impaled), instead, place a special marker on top of the victim token to indicate that it has been impaled (place your Vampire Enforcer in any adjacent square after impaling). Impaled victims are considered HINDERING TERRAIN for movement purposes and BLOCKING TERRAIN for line of fire purposes.

The heirs of Vlad revel at the sight of these totems, therefore, Vampire Enforcers gain +1 to their damage value and +1 to their speed value for each victim slain through impalement (Subjected to the rule of 3). Players also receive an additional 30 points for every victim impaled.

3. "You were brought here from hell to protect ME!" - All Vampire Enforcers gain the power MASTERMIND (for heroclix players, you probably already know what it does).

MASTERMIND - Each time this character would be dealt damage, you may instead choose to have all the damage be dealt to a single adjacent friendly character with a lower point value than this character. If a character is KOd by damage dealt using this power, it is considered to have been KOd by the character that originally dealt the damage (from Marvel Heroclix Danger Room PAC)

Suggestion lang po! :cool: Why don't we limit the merc guardians to field agents, Bishop L. and priests. Tapos Bishop L. has to be on the Occult side of his card.

Field Agents seem to be natural mercs. Priests naman, depending on your religion, or if you are from the Philippines, talagang nabibili yan mga yan. Bishop L. may tailor made darkside siya eh.

and to fulfill being thematic, imagine mo na lang hindi si buffy yung fig mo. Si "Faith" yun. alam naman natin si Faith nabibili yan e..... (not in that way; i know how your mind works bro. hehehehe.) so if anyone wants to field in the Slayer, bring it on (in my opinion). hehe. :)

Special Scenario Rules: Victims do not turn face up when chosen or moved, all faced down victims have 4 move speed, for movement prevention plot twists that require gender such as mezmerized, trip etc... roll 1d6 on a result of 1-3 the victim is male 4-6 female. victims only face up when about to be slain or rescued or when are adjacent to monsters.

1.Surprise Surprise!!! when a monster slaying/rescuing a victim with the exterminator archtype roll 1d6 on a result of 4-6 the slaying attempt fails, and the exterminator victim deals 1 unavoidable damage(sadista ba?) for each victim on the map that is not slain/rescued.

2.Mimimimimi monsters who choose not to slay/rescue adjacent victims must roll 1d6 and get a result of 6 to break away.

Background:

A mysterious plague is spreading across the country of Africa. Killing hundreds of people and all manners of living creatures in a matter of months.Diabolical creatures and monsters of every sort are all aware of this situation, and they fear it. For only in a matter of days their main source of food which are the humans may all be infected with the disease and die . Thus, they have taken it upon themselves to take actions to prevent and neutralize this disease from spreading. Hunting those disease carriers and destroying it before it is to late.
-------Unaware that these plague carriers is among them,---------
and even they are not immune to their plague.
Thus, in the end for all their hunting , it may all be
to late.



Special scenario rules and conditions:

1. Each army must contain at least 100 points of zombies (noted on their cards)
2. Zombies have the instant ability of disease/poison on all their combat dials ( On the beginning of your turn deal 1 damage to all adjacent monsters/figures) but with a twist. Zombies can affect friendly monsters that are not zombies. Meaning they can affect friendly or non friendly monsters except zombies. Zombies do not affect each other with the this ability either yours or your opponents.
3. Victims adjacent to zombies are instantly slain. No plot twist can be use. If a victim is slained in this way , move the zombie where the victim is previously located.

Army build:
-victim pool should contain 5 females and 1 male
-must have at least 2 zombies and 2 male guardians.
-all zombies are automatically blooded.
-when zombies perform a frenzy action give them +2 to their movement speed.
-when zombies deal at least 1 damage to non zombies characters the target character becomes a zombie.
-male guardians have the special rape ability.


*RAPE: when this monter rescues a female victim heal this monster of 1 damage.
*The following are considered zombies and guardians for this tourney:

Win conditions:
-wipeout opposing army

oh eto lilinawin ko na ha, meron daw nagaccuse sakin nandaya ako sa horrorclix...

regarding coldspot, ginamit ko daw un card twice. un pag gamit ko daw eh ginamit ko both abilities ng cold spot. simpleng english lang yan eh meron OR so meaning either 1 of the abilities lang pwede gamitin and wala naman nakalagay recylcable un card. at NEVER ko ginawa yan dahil un nga napakasimpleng english.

so kung mandadaya kayo gulang wag niyo na ko idamay.

edit: wala pala or ang cold spot so pahiya ako dun hahaha. pero di ko pa din ginawa yan nakakairita lang kasi pinagdidikdikan pa na ginawa ko napakabarbero.

Well, Arthur...i was there and in fairness to the guy who said that: he did not accuse you of cheating;)

I for one, will vouch on ArthurD2 as a clean, honest and competitive friendly player who has NEVER Cheated (at least Intentionally to the best of my knowledge, well maybe his gf but thats a different story hehehe) in ANY Hero/Horrorclix game!!!..Ako pa nga ang nandadaya dyan sometimes on free plays eh heehehhe..pero free plays lang ha? :laugh:
Anyways, as i see it...it happened (I wasnt there actually, just heard when) at a very early stage of a Horroclix tourney wherein nangangapa(no pun intented here) pa tayo on how the cards work.
...the figs din were a bit confusing and I also made a boo boo on the starting click of my 4 Razorvixen Exp...hereby earning me the monicker as the Horrorclix Cheat by no less than Judge Javey himself (but all for fun nontheless) :cheeky:

Anyway, to make the long story short...this is for sure but a minor player to player misunderstanding.
Now it doesn't matter who said who...but the real story here is no one accused anyone of anything and the guy simply could not cheat even if he wanted to...he's that clean. The guy may have said that but i'm sure he said it in a good way or sense or just to prove a point.
C'mon guys...iilan lang tayong players ng horrorclix and a commotion like this will not make the community we're trying to build any stronger than any of us would want to.
Well, i know you both...you'll rise above this and learn to settle your differences. For the game we're trying to build...we all have to try and get along. :)

Nightmare boosters wiped out at NG Galleria last saturday. Heroclix players got into a frenzy and went on to a buying spree. Meron nakuhang mga SRs like Dominatrix,Zombie Lion,Zombie Dorothy,etc. Overall ok yung mga Nightmare figures. Meron mga giant figures with special rules. This wed baka magrestock uli ang NG ng Nightmares sa Galleria(fingers crossed). Si Charlon pala took a chance in buying a Freakshow booster and you know what he got? Wacko Jacko(chase figure)!

Considering na masaya mag laro nang casual HoClix games, in comparison sa Heroclix, baka good din in the long run yung action pack type na release. So instead of a collectible game, expandable game nalang siya. Although if they do go the action pack route, magandan kung 3D map and terrain yung game.

I don't think HorrorClix will ever gain the popularity that HeroClix has here in the Philippines. But I'm always up for a game as long as di conflicting sa schedule ko. I enjoy the game a lot, especially the Plot Twist aspect where you can still surprise an opponent in the middle of the game.

I bought at least 14 boosters of Nightmares na and so did Eliot(siya ata nakaubos ng isang case eh,plus a brick pa of Freakshow!!!).
Got Dominatrix, Zombie Pirate, Un Zombie na maid and Grendel lang...plus ung red Unique pala sa Freakshow. But the more important thing is that the figs I got na nons are sooo cool like the Archangel, Nesi, cheerleader, etc!!!

I've had a 500 pt freeplay yesterday against xandy's team led by athena and mad monk. Ang lakas pala ni mad monk! Invulnerability till his dial goes to hourglass at rage sa final dial where he resets the dial to the beginning! I was able to bring his mad monk to the hour glass dial twice but my monsters finally lost steam when the mad monk resets to the beginning dial the third time :disappoin
Still it was a good game :cool:

SADLY, hoclix suffers from the SAME malaise as MAGE KNIGHT. LACK of FAMILIAR character. ALTHOUGH some of the FIGS are analogous to EXISTING horror genre characters (Buffy,etc) OR movie characters (Predator, Aliens) IT does have enough characters to HOLD interest for the MAJORITY. The GAME itself is SOLID. Unfortunately NOBODY collects DOG SOLDIERS and its ilk. GOODBYE HoCLix! snifff

Dreamblade is another miniatures game made by WOTC.
But unlike Horrorclix that will still have action packs, stop production na ang dreamblade (kaya 50% off ang boosters and starters :) )
Maganda ang dreamblade in terms of gameplay and strategy (and prizes).
The downside is you might have a hard time finding players of dreamblade (there's only a handful here in metro manila and some are in cebu)
If you play heroclix at NG Galleria on saturdays I can prolly bring dreamblade stuff so you can check it out (haven't played it in months kaya hindi ko na matandaan, have to brush up on the rules again hehe :cool: )

I also play DB. The figs are pretty and its a simple game with a lot of depth. Maganda sa DB you don't need a lot figs for your warband, kasi almost every game is different due to the spawn points.

Meron akong mga singles na HoClix from the base set, pero I doubt you'll find them worthy enough to buy. I can swap them for your FS na singles if you like, para wala kang cash out.

Get one (1) DB starter and a booster of each set. Tapos nun, trade trade ka nalang until you have a 32 piece collection. That's all you'll need for DB. Pat Chua played DB before, so you might be able to swap some of your Heroclix stuff for DB with him.

There are two minis version of Drizzt:from the archfiends set and the Legend of Drizzt box set that includes Wulfgar and Icingdeath
Bruenor is included from the Desert of Desolation set
Wulfgar is included in the Night Below set
Artemis Entreri and Guen is included from the Underdark set
As of the present sila pa lang ang me minis version.

If you're not that picky about versions, Good buy na ang Legend of Drizzt na box set :)
Bruenor will be easily available once DoD arrives (God knows when :sleep: )
But artemis and guen would be a challenge since Underdark is an old set
