Since our discussion thread is already 900 plus pages long, and the topics there are so varied, I've decided to start an isolated comic book thread.

This is where we discuss what we read, what we want to read, or any big news regarding comics and our heroes. Anybody who reads comics, collects comics, or can't but would like to be updated regarding the stories anyway.

Simple rule #1: NO CLIX DISCUSSIONS HERE. We have a lot of other threads for the clix. This thread is for the inspiration of Heroclix to take center stage... the heroes and their comics themselves.

Simple rule #2: If you're going to read this thread, expect SPOILERS. We discuss what we've read, so someone's bound to reveal something in the stories. No complaining that we've revealed the ending for a comic you haven't read yet. Don't flame us for finding out that so and so died in issue #umpteen before you read issue #1. If you don't want Spoilers, stay away from this thread.

Anyway, right now my pull-list in CATS consists of the following:

:cool: Is wildCATs still any good? I use to collect the original series with JimLee then Travis Charest. I also collected the original Wetworks, Arthur says there will be a relaunch. I stopped because of all the crossovers that surfaced then. It made the story confusing. In the case of Wetworks, when Whilce left, the story took a different direction. Who are WildCATS members these days?

WildCats will be relaunched as well. So the roster may go back to the original team, plus a few new additions. After the Captain Atom: Armageddon series, the Wildstorm Universe seems to have reset, hence all the relaunches, including Wetworks.

Rumored Roster: Grifter, Zealot, Voodoo, Warblade, Maul, Void, Spartan/Jack Marlowe.

Dunno if the newer characters will be there right away, like Ladytron, Majestic, Agent Orange, and if Lord Emp will be back in human midget form.

The relaunch looks good, if we were to base it on the creative team, Jim Lee on art chores while Grant Morrison writes it. I'm pretty excited about it.

My guess would be Freddy the kid with the stilt, who turns into Captain Marvel Jr. But it could be Black Adam, or Mary. I haven't read that issue. I want to buy it, but the budget won't allow me. I'll wait for the trade on this one.

Start calling Cats or Filbar's... WildCats relaunches this month. I haven't checked if Wildcats is this week or the next. Not sure about Wetworks though. Anyway, for release dates, www.dccomics.com will be helpful. Just click on the Wildstorm section. ;)

In case you're interested, Gen 13 is also getting relaunched, with Gail Simone writing the book and Talent Caldwell on art chores.

well si captain marvel is now considered the new wizard ata he is the with the all white and hooded costumed guy sa infinite crisis. he turned that way when he said shazam sa last part ng trials of shazam para magtransform bakc to billy batson, but to his surprise he's wearing an all white costume and has long grey hair hehe:p

Ok itong thread, at least even if i don't buy comics regularly, medyo ma-update ako. I used to buy Hulk (of course, but now trades na lang) and WildCats, and other titles like Stone, Aria and other Marvel and Wildstorm specials but expenses between kids, DVDs/CDs (my ex-hobby), Heroclix and toys made it impossible for me to shell out dough for comics anymore. Now, I only read comics electronically but I miss the feeling of flipping through the paper pages of awesome art and engaging stories of Jim Lee, Whilce Portacio, Peter David, Jay Anacleto, etc. But if there'll be a relaunch of WildCats with Jim Lee as artist, i'll probably check it out. :)

Wildcats will relaunch this september 20 and i think it will be really good with jim lee as the artist and morrison as the writer. same date ang relaunch ng wetworks but whilce will just draw na lang with this one.

alam ko meron pero mas maliit yung format, ala reader's digest ng marvel...parang kasing laki yata nung mga manga comics.

try mo sa "comic odessey" sa rob place, baka may back issues sila dun.
(best comic book shop in my opinion, kasi if you get 10 titles sa kanila, may discount 180 pesos becomes 155, 240 becomes 210. plus bagged and boarded lahat ng comics libre. unlike sa iba na may additional charge or wala talaga)

I've just read Astonishing X-men #16 and ang galing ng character development ni Kitty, funny si wolverine, one of the funniest defamations of a character in Marvel.

Question: Si emma rin ba talaga si Perfection na nagreveal as the white Queen? A lot say that all of the Hellfire Club members could be manifestations of Emma's subconscious. Kasi di ba lahat sila from Emmma's past at patay na yung iba.

According to the preview of #18. the final arc of the AXM, the Xmen will never be the same again. I'd be dissapointed if emma becomes a villain again, And will Cyclops never again wear his visor?

may rumors din myke na si mastermind yung isang emma, actually ang pagkakaalam ko, naging strip club na ang hellfire "club" sa run ni grant morrison (assault on weapon plus), tapos nag iba na naman sa arc ni claremont, at yung ending nung arc, si sebastian shaw nahospital tapos si sunspot na yung black king. tapos itong astonishing iba na naman. baka nga imagination lang lahat ni emma yun.

tapos yung cover ng bagong astonishing, nandun si cyclops na walang visor. siguro nga hindi na sya magsusuot nun...mawawala nayung appeal nya...parang kalaban nalang sya ni mask rider black, yung may panira sa mata...haaay.;)

I keep forgetting to buy the trade of AXM :disappoin Looks like Joss Whedon has been doing a lot with the Xmen... I have to start finding trades. I only have issue 6.

Anyway, even if I haven't read it yet, I can at least safely say that I'd be disappointed as well if Emma became a villain again. I love the character as one of the good guys.

Guys eto din try nyo eto naman ang sa opinion ko the best comic shop. Druid's Keep along magallañes sha sa may robinson's market forgot the name nun village near it. All comicbooks dun are priced na 50php is to $1 so un di mo na need ng membership and bulk buying to get cheap comicbooks and they also give free plastics and backboards. dun ako kumukuha ng 52 before 100bucks lang kaso la lang stopped 52 kasi di sha friendly sa budget hehe. hopefully mageexpand daw ang druid's sa robinson's boni ata.

Ano na yung sa Marvel Civil war, medyo dragging that's why i stopped getting it.

Uncanny X-men "Rise and Fall of the Shiar empire!" the 3rd summers brother (Gabriel Summers/Vulcan) rushing headlong into the very heart of the Shiar imperium.

Emma Frost is just right as the head mistress of Xavier's, kaso ever since House of M, medyo tyrannic siya sa mga students na naiwan. She has guts that Jean Grey never had ( my own opinion lang)

Looks like 2007 will be a great year for Jhun to get back into comics... Just read an article in newsarama about the followup to Planet Hulk. Their big summer event is gonna be called World War Hulk and is set to be bigger and more action packed than Civil War will ever be. I've heard a lot of good things about the Planet Hulk storyline and I really wanna get it when it comes out in trade. Looks like I won't be able to rest after Civil War if World War Hulk will follow. :(

Okay, i'm confused now, i thought the stepford cuckoos aren't supposed to be that strong, i mean c'mon, Emma Frost can't handle the phoenix force, she said so herself in Phoenix Endsong, so how could the students whom she originally had under her be powerful enough to handle the phoenix. I mean there needs to be three of them to use cerebro.

But since they brought back their other two sisters...maybe. hehe so hindi na 3-in-1 sile, 5-in-1 ulit. They were freaky like that always finishing each others sentences:cross-eye

I just read the latest issue of All-Star Superman... And it was effin' awesome!!! :classic:

As always, Grant Morrison's writing doesn't disappoint. This issue had Clark Kent visit Stryker's Island for an exclusive interview with Lex Luthor who's in Death Row. I don't want to spoil too much of it, but it had some great moments in there.

Frank Quitely's art is beautiful, but there were some panels or pages that I didn't like for some reason. I can't put my finger on it, but the art in this issue didn't captivate me as much as in the previous issues.

I never really was a Superman fan. I'm really more of a Batman fan than a Big Blue fan, but this title is one of my favorites now. Every issue that comes out doesn't disappoint.

I think the problem with All-Star Batman is that it gets delayed waaayyyy too often for a bi-monthly title, and the way that Frank Miller wrote the story isn't suited for a title released as infrequently as this. He decompressed the story so much that it took them 4 issues to get to the friggin' batcave. Either that, or Batman drove really slow back then. I like the title, don't get me wrong. that's true, She used to a "hound" from the future. with facial tattooes. Since Excalibur pa yan na tinatakpan nya ng illusion ang tattoes nya. Tama the Phoenix Force na nasa Cuckos was the same one that first came to JEan Grey, then to Rachel . Then manifested again in Jean . After her death came back to resurrect her. Hehe, you guys are close, but the reason why she no longer shows the Phoenix effect is because she no longer has the phoenix force with her. Somewhere in the Timestream the Phoenix Force left her( After she left Cable's real timeline)

Yung Firebird symbol sa Eye niya is similar to Jean Grey's. When Jean started manifesting the Phoenix Force qualities (After the 12 saga, the search for cyclops) that appeared. It may be that Rachel Grey is becoming like her mother , I mean Jean Grey= Phoenix force now. One thing's for sure she's still really powerful:grin:

I'm pretty sure Thor is pro-registration. The Shield agents referred to him as codename lightning, or something similar. In the last pages of issue 3, they called in codename lightning, and down came Thor. They say someone dies in issue 4, could Thor be the killer of this soon to be dead hero??? :rolleyes:

Just read the entire Phoenix:Endsong. In Conclusion, ISa na lang, merged into as same being ang Phoenix Force and Jean Grey, which also explains na wala na talaga kay Rachel ito, The force left Rachel after fighting a power absorbing villainess in Cable's timeline na nawala na, She felt the Phoenix abandoned her. In new X-men it manifested again with Jean.

While Jean dead, and the Phoenix scattered into pieces in the Galaxy, theyre somewhat in this so called white hot room where they are pulling their pieces together, hibernating, incubating, sumthing like that.

The Shi'ar made an experiment of summoning the Force even without a host in order to eliminate it forever. But its not time yet for the Phoenix to live yet, kaya hindi sila magkasama ni Jean Grey.

In the ending , because of showing and making her remember all the people who love and cared for her, made her strong at will, focused and in control of the Phoenix as in-one with her. Then she went back to hibernation again. Meaning in time she may rise again. As the story implies.

Warsong: Is it possible that Jean maybe involved in this and she maybe coming back? Still malabo pa talaga sa ngayon. If she's in one with the Force. What is the Phoenix doing with the Cuckos. Yet, on one of the panels, the voice seem to have come from Jean's grave. But Jean's body wasnt recovered right? Ang daming tanong, speculations, clueless about warsong, what do u think?

Glad you liked it. Actually, Jim Lee calls it a "soft" reset. It'll incorporate a lot of the concepts and stories already established into something new. Looking forward to it. I take it some of you have already picked up Wetworks #1? How was it?

I may be a DC fan, but I will say this for Marvel... There's more to them than just the X-Men.

Brian K. Vaughan's Runaways is a title I'm planning to get, at least in trade.

As I posted much earlier in this thread, the Hulk books are really good with the current Planet Hulk storyline and the upcoming World War Hulk coming next year.

I hear She-Hulk is also a good read.

As for back issues, find a writer that you like and browse for his/her old trades. I'm looking for Kevin Smith's Daredevil run.

Right now, may halong comedy. I think in the next arc it will focus more on action naman.

Runaways is about a group of kids in the west coast who find out that their parents are all part of a super-villain group called the Pride, who are bent on world domination or something like that. Since all the heroes are in East Coast New York, there's no one there to stop them. Well, Wonder Man is in the West Coast, but for some he reason, he doesn't count ;). So it's up to the kids to stop their own parents, they run away from home and band together to stop the Pride and any super-powered threat in the West Coast. It's a fun read, half-serious and half-comedy, a la Joss Whedon's writing.

The art is nice, but it's definitely not painted like theose gorgeous covers.

Or since nakainternet ka narin, try searching for them and downloading them. The web is full of comics, both scanned and online versions. Examples of online comics are POWERS by Brian Michael Bendis and KABUKI. Then you can lose yourself in the INDY scene web sites. As for downloadable ones, you can go to torrent sites and download them there. That's how I read House of M, hehehe. There are always ways for fans to get access to comics aside from buying comics. Sure, it's piracy, but remember, it's still an option.

Ah, but here's the catch. Not everyone in the government or even in SHIELD is squeaky clean. There's always someone who's gonna turn out corrupt, or would use that info to his own advantage. To have a file on the secret identities and specifics of a hero fall into the wrong hands would be quite dangerous. They may have no plans of publicly announcing that info, but let's say someone stole that info? With the general public knowing the government would have all the data on the superheroes, villains and big bads alike will start targeting the government or start buying their way into the government to obtain that data.

well they sorta kinda ripped it off already, basta that's my view hehe well parang bigla na ko naboringan sa Civil War ewan ko bakit and since nasimulan ko na sha collect kailangan tapusin hehe. Infinite Crisis was way better sa tingin ko lang ha hehe.

That's understandable because this series was not as elaborately conceived as Infinite Crisis. IC had sh*t thrown at us from space, the magic realm, the villains and the heroes themselves. So many different "mini-crises" all merging in the end into one big mother of a crisis.

CW focuses on just one thing, and I'd imagine if you followed all the tie-ins, all talking about more or less the same thing, you'd get bored eventually. It's good, don't get me wrong, but it just doesn't compare to IC in my opinion.

Maybe next year's World War Hulk might compare to IC, but we'll just have to wait and see. I read somewhere that CW, Planet Hulk and Annihilation will all boil down to one huge event next year. Or at least, the after-effects of each would. We'll see if the hype is true.

Quesada is up to something with regards to Spidey's marriage. He once said: "You can't have Spidey as a father" That's why the Parker kid got killed/aborted/whatever during the clone saga. Confusing to read at first, A lot reacted on forums that it "sucked, blowed chunks , save ur money, shame on you Marvel,etc..."

yeah i was disappointed too a bit, kasi nga magulo pagkakapresent ng panelling at di madaling maiintindihan ng average readers.

It may seem like its about the origin of the cuckoos and not about a story of Phoenix, but.... its only #2 3 more to find out.

My speculation is the Phoenix is planning to disinfect the three in one and maybe save them from the Weapon plus program.

I turned out in #2 that the cuckoos were just 5 of the hundreds of copies made by the Weapon Plus program which create monster super soldiers.

In the 1st issue, a shard talked to a Cuckoo, then the 3 were somehow lured to the graveyard where Jean , and their 2 dead sisters are buried.

A voice (black word bubble) is talking to them, then suddenly the cuckoos flew but not intently and the voice said "no, its not time yet, wait!"

After that the voice was silent for a while. Then when the cuckoos wre separated , Each were fighting a teacher, as they were about to strike their power... the voice again screamed "No!"

The Phoenix raptor manifested with the three in one.

Then, the dead sisters Esme and Sophie left their graves, saying " our sisters need us..." I think it wasnt the Phoenix that raised them but the its the Weapon plus program tech that activated them to rise , go to Cerebra to be able to talk and awaken the three in one about their real purpose and then transferred data about their program and the location of the "the World" where the weapon plus base is.

Celeste thought it was the Phoenix (the "fire")that raised them and that they will become like Jean before, Dark Phoenix destroying the world. But Sophie (one of the dead)said "it isn't what the "fire" we brings.. we have a different destiny to fulfill."

So they went to the Weapon plus location by the transferred data from the 2 dead sisters.

Beast confirmed that what made the dead cuckoos walk and talk were the nanotechnology which Wolverine found on the bones of an arm he cut off from one of them.

Emma also said that even though the sisters manifested a Phoenix fire it doesnt feel like the real Phoenix that is awakened . Meaning that the Real Phoenix is not actually hosted by the Cuckoos as many will first interpret ,only a voice in their heads.

what is uncertain here is that how did they manifest a Phoenix raptor, fly and shoot flames, is it part of the weapon plus program ?

and many other possibilities, what if the program made in their tech the Phoenix raptor ability, which they could have copied from Jean when she was alive. And why were the cuckoos so similar to Emma's looks? It is also possible that they patterned the image of these girls to her.

Much will still be revealed. Pak said that this storyline is about understanding Jean / Phoenix and their future. So the cuckoos origin is not the main story here I think but a thing or mission that the Phoenix needs to resolve.

And me plano sya para sa kanila, maybe save them or spare them for what the weapon plus program intended. A dead Cuckoo also said , and "it" (the fire/ phoenix) is pulling you away(from what they were programmed to fulfill)

i'm really starting to like indy heroes ha, interesting mga stories and take nila as to how heroes should act and stuff and struggles nila sa everday life. I suggest you guys try reading Invicible and The Authority cool stuff talaga.

Just play the City of Heroes game. The comic isn't that good.

DC tpbs??? Kung kumpleto ka na sa mga classics, like the JLA Morrison tpbs, or Bats, Supes, and GL stuff, try out Wildstorm. Wildcats 3.0 by Joe Casey is a good read. Tom Strong is nice as well.

Oo nga pala, the Green Arrow tpb by Kevin Smith is on my most wanted list, as is the one by Brad Meltzer.

Kung wala ka na talagang makita, benta mo nalang ung mga Infinite Crisis mini-series mo tapos buy the trades. It looks nicer on a shelf. hehehe :p

Just read my latest pile... Here's what I think of the comics I just read... And as a warning for those who haven't read them yet:

SPOILERS ON

Justice League of America #2: This issue builds up more mysteries and also ties the plot threads from the issue together. In the first issue, somebody steals Red Tornado's body, Black Lightning is investigating the slums re: missing villains, Vixen is called to a seedy bar by someone posing as The Question. In this issue, it turns out the missing villains in the Black Lightning plot are the ones who lured Vixen to the bar in order to get her totem. Apparently, they also had a hand in stealing Reddy's body. Who's behind all this? Fat chance in hell that Brad Meltzer will reveal that anytime soon. I'm really pleased with the book, and Brad's writing is as good as I remember it in Identity Crisis. This issue leaves me totally hungry for more.

Civil War: Frontline #6 & 7: Okay so in issue 6... Ugh... Never mind, for some reason I'm not very enthusiastic about this title anymore. It's still a good read, but not so good that the story sticks in my head.

Fables #1 Special Edition: If you see this 25 cents issue in your store, buy it! For just 30 pesos, you get a reprint of the first issue of a very good Vertigo series, and a preview of the upcoming hardcover graphic novel Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall. This is a clever and funny re-imagining of the characters we all knew and loved as kids. Snow White is the deputy mayor, Beauty & the Beast are on the verge of divorce because Beast's curse is coming back, Prince Charming is humping half the girls in the state, the Big Bad Wolf is now a human and is also a detective... Personally, I'm going to get the first volume in tpb as a gift for myself in the holidays.

Worldstorm #1: The Stormwatch PHD story is cool, as it introduced the members and re-introduced some old ones from the first series. But the real gem for me is the Tranquility story by Gail Simone. I was a fan of Simone's Villains United, and Tranquility, at least the story in this book, is still keeping me as a fan. I like the concept of a nice, peaceful town, where all the old superheroes and ex-supervillains go to retire. I'm looking forward to the first issue of the actual series now.

yep gian's right although it almost has nothing to do with the spectre, it's where hal jordan gets back to life, and andun din ang origin ni parallax and some explenantions on how he became parallax, they even had an explenation why hal had grey hair while other heroes didn't. and andun din si sinestro and the remaining corps members before green lantern recharge. dun din bumalik si guy gardner. really a good read you should get a copy sulit. i believe ang trade copy niya is hardbound lang pero i'm not quiet sure.

oh yeah got a copy na of wildcats 1, if your expecting na action packed and stuff, it's not and sobrang nakakabitin, ewan i was disappointed kinda, kasi sobrang bitin ang story niya for a bimonthly title. but nonetheless jim lee still did a great job sa artwork, he did a kick as job sa new look ni mister majestic.

Have you tried showing it to people other than glasshouse graphics? Yeah, Marvel may not buy your inks, but for Vertigo books, or Image titles, they might like your inking style. Do you have a website or seomething were we can see some of your scanned work? :)

Alam niyo guys... ako din nagtry pumasok sa comics industry before... me and my buds almost went into producing our own... We even enrolled in LEARN sa mega before, under Whilce Portacio's guidance... kasabay pa namin dun si Lienel Yu (Wolverine, Superman) and Gerry Alanguilan (X-men). Dun namin nalaman yung strengths namin... After that I tried to apply sa isang comics group dito sa pinas before and I showed my Ideas, sabi nila ok daw akong digital colorist and character design...:disappoin Bad trip lang ninakaw yung designs ko. Nakita ko na lang sa comics nila yung character ko, at yung iba yung armor and weapons designs ko ginaya nila. Anyway, wala na comics nila. Buti nga. :angry: Pero ok din kasi naging stepping stone ko ito papuntang Animation. Mas nagustuhan ko pa ito kasi gumagalaw na yung mga drawings ko. :cool: Anyway, if you need assistance, i'll be happy to help. :grin:

Ang tip na binigay ni Whilce Portacio sa penciling is to have your own style... kahit hindi proportion o exagerrated (Rob Liefield), madaming line hatching (Jim Lee) or mukhang anime (Joe Mad) basta may style ka. Kasi dun ka makikilala. Sa inking naman ganun din, pero mas ok daw kung yun stylus o speedball o brush pen ang gamitin mo para mas may dating, yun bang thick and thin lines. Sa coloring, learn more about lights and shadows... :p Oki doki...

i too have original characters in my mind... and of course stories too... 10 years ago my college classmates and me tried to create a studio in our shop sa school namin TUP manila. printing kasi major namin kaya you know walang problema sa printing at post press. pre press lang ang problema pero di rin nag click, until now nasa classmate ko ang mga portfolio at stories namin...

just count me in.... remember i work in a multi million printing industry...the inks, the machine, the paper to be used...:)

Actually nung bago pa lang ako, I did apply sa PASI (Phil. Animation Studio Inc.) and I passed. Ang exam nila si Rogue at Biker Mice from Mars ang pinadrawing skin. Pero mas maganda yung napasukan ko non, sa Toon City, Kala ko nung una, Filipino company to, yun pala Disney TV. :p Kaya dun ako nagstart. Now, na sa Top Peg Animation ako... Mas madami yung hawak namin shows now... iba't iba, disney, warner bros, etc... Nkgawa ako sa Kim Possible, Static Shock and Tarzan... May local pa kaming ginawa, yun excerpts sa VOLTA, Tutubi Patrol and coming soon na itong JOBERT. (Free Plugging) :knockedou If you plan to work as an animator, may animation training ka dapat. The excerpt is on my site (check the sig, under illustrations) kaso it's sort of a 2-night plate so minimal lang yung nagawa kong drawing. Nyahaha. The 'spoof' cover I didn't even draw, I penned it lang sa photoshop, kanang kamay pa! (hence the krappy representation of a hand, left handed ako BTW)

identity crisis really cool story bro, infinite crisis a reboot on DCs universe well kinda may tie-ins din sha, kaya nagka civil war sa marvel para makasabay sa dc haha. jade(jenn lynn hayden) died sa rann-thanagar war(tie-in ng infinite crisis) so she passed the power of the starheart na binigay ni kyle sa kanya back to kyle, he has an all new costume and power, thus ION sha ulit pero di sha ganun kalakas as dating ion. yep ION is out issue 7 na nga lalabas this week eh hehe

Well, when if you read the very first post in this thread, I did say that you should ALWAYS expect spoilers here. ;) We discuss the stories in this thread, what we've read, and speculate on what's coming up in the next few months.

But, in fairness to those who haven't read certain stories, let's try to make the "spoiler" stuff as vague as possible so as not to ruin it too much for those who want to read the actual thing. We all spend a ####-load of cash and wait for a month or two to read a comic book for 5-10 minutes. I understand how spoilers can be a big letdown.

Personally, I'd buy it. Any tpb for 500 is ALMOST a must buy for me. If it's a thick tpb, I wouldn't care if it's black & white. As long as I can read my 500 peso tpb longer than the usual tpb, I'm quite content. You should give it a try, or buy it then trade it for some figs worth 500 with darkjacen, who's apparently a GL fan. ;)

Sale na ba yun? hehe Personally, ang pinaka sulet na TPB e yung sa titans, wait for the sale and they're just 399 each! Ganda pa ng storya. So far yung etong 4th tpb pinaka sulet tlga, yung the future is now...

Meron nga din pala akong nakikitang TPBs sa national bookstore, ang gnda sobra ng art and medyo makapala (mga around standard 192 pages or so) tpos ang gnda pa ng papel! for only 150php! I think title e EDGE or something, pero puro indy comiks nasa loob. The only reason di ko pa binibili e kase laging walang 1, 2 lang lage meron, I think hangng 20+ na yun sa ngayon.

Personally, I'd buy it. Any tpb for 500 is ALMOST a must buy for me. If it's a thick tpb, I wouldn't care if it's black & white. As long as I can read my 500 peso tpb longer than the usual tpb, I'm quite content. You should give it a try, or buy it then trade it for some figs worth 500 with darkjacen, who's apparently a GL fan. ;)

Got a copy of Ultimate Power a crossover of the Ultimate fantastic four and squadron supreme, so far i liked it ok sha, and greg land's art is nice im a fan na hehehe and it's written by bendis ok naman siguro story di pa naman ako na fafail ni bendis. 1 thing though is the ultimate fantastic four just teens talaga? there's a part na sabi ni reed 18 lang daw sha. if that's the case coll naintriga tuloy ako sa ultimate fantastic four.

Actually, since konti palang sila, we can have them as Uniques instead. Maybe two of the characters per expansion, hanggang makumpleto sila. Or we could at least have a Unique of the one that died, was it Gert? I couldn't remember because I only read one issue, and the rest from comic reviews only.

There are some fat heroes, like the New Warrior Microbe, Legion of Superheroes' Bouncing Boy... Gert from Runaways, and... um... uh... Power Girl has fat bxxbs... ;)

Well, superheroes were always designed to be "perfect" in a sense, that's why they all look like alpha males and fhm models. It took awhile before creators created heroes who didn't look perfect, and made them more human and relatable to the reader when it came to looks.

Guys, I picked-up Wildcats #1, Wetworks #s 1 & 2 and Deathblow #1. For me, they're all worth reading and very promising but I like Deathblow, my fave Team7 member, the most. If only my budget will allow, I'll also buy the other Wildstorm titles. But between heroclix, hulk figs, kids, and now comics, my wallet can only take so much. Wildstorm Rocks but Hulk Smash!!!! :)

I hear ya. I'm actually interested in Gail Simone's new Gen 13 and Tranquility and a lot of other titles... but that'll leave me broke.

Wildcats #1 is good. I'm glad that it still incorporates all the concepts that were established in Wildcats vol.1, version 2.0 and version 3.0. Looking forward to the next issue, but I hope that Jim Lee and Grant Morrisson won't let this bimonthly book become too late.

I was browsing for some Fables tpbs in Bibliarch/Fully Booked earlier this afternoon. I found two volumes, vol. 5 & 6, and cursed because I wanted to get the first volume. I wasn't really into reading stories STAR WARS style anymore (read the latter part/finale, then read the first part that preceded it/prequel) and I was thinking really hard if I should get vol.5. After 30 minutes of browsing the other books, I finally decided to get volume 5, and as I was about to leave, my eyes caught a book in the lowest shelf. It was yellow, and the moment I saw that single streak of blood on the cover, I knew what it was... WATCHMEN. Sorry, Brian Willingham, but I'll have to buy your Fables books some other time. Right now, it's Alan Moore for me. Can't wait to get off work so I can read this bad boy.

I just read, Green Lantern Rebirth and Recharge! I couldn't find the TPBs but i did find the issues per piece. WOW! ganda pala ng story ng rebirth. How Hal turned human again etc (Won't spoil it all) Recharge is actually a nice read too, more on a Macro perspcetive of the whole Green Lantern Corp. Nice! Thanks Arthur and Gian for giving the suggestion. It was worth it;)

Arthur, Watchmen is one of the definite must-reads not just for comic readers, but readers in general. I'm done with 8 chapters and i am telling you, thsi is alan moore at his best. This is what most people try to compare their work to. When Identity Crisis came out, you'd hear people say "This is the next Watchmen."

well i don't DL nagpapaburn na lang ako hahaha. and mostly un mga pinaburn ko is un mga titles na di ko na naabutan and di ko kinocollect. mejo masakit na kasi sa bulsa un comics tapos everytime na may lalabas na bago mahirap pag desisyonan kung sulit bilhin hehehe.
