While on a mission investigating a connection between Intergang and a radical terrorist group, Menagerie and Batgirl simply... vanished. As the rest of the team sought a way to track them, they encountered a DEO field team tracking an unknown energy signature. Seeking an audience with DEO Director Bones, the Elite hoped to combine their forces with the DEO to figure out what was going on... and instead, were in the perfect position to thwart an assassination attempt on Bones. Wanting a little payback, Bones agreed to the teamup, and soon he and the Elite were headed to an Intergang safehouse, where their records on the energy signature were being kept.

But the Elite were shocked to find resistance waiting for them in the form of The Society. With their only hope of finding their teammates on the line, they charged in a forked-flanking formation, Green Arrow going to get the disc while the others tried to trap the opponents between two fronts. With the aid of Manitou Dawn's commanded spirits and the awsome power of Coldcast, the Elite were able to retrieve the disc and withdraw, taking a few casualties... but telling The Society that the Elite are not to be messed with, and leaving Deathstroke fuming for revenge.

Now, with Vera Black's cybernetic arms malfunctioning due to Jinx's mojo, the Elite have used Intergang's own research to track the energy signature to to outskirts of Las Vegas, where they find and rescue the captive Batgirl. But Menagerie is nowhere to be found. Before they can search the area for her, a powerful force makes their presence known... and the Elite have no chance to retreat. It's fight or fall time as The Justice League Elite face...

... The Justice Society of America. Having been caught on the scene of a building used for criminal purposes (and a dead guard dog, due to Coldcast getting slightly jumpy), the Elite decided that no amount of talk would get them out of the situation in time to free Menagerie. They would have to hit the JSA hard enough to make them pause, and then head for the hills to go find their teammate. Unfortunately, due to some chronal anomalies (most likely caused by time-travelling JSA foe Per Degaton), the fight quickly went from a good plan to a total blunder as the Elite were met with equal force and quickly dismantled.

It was only when the JSA saw that one of those knocked out during the fight was DEO Director Bones that they realized something strange was goign on, and upon reviving their mistaken foes, they learned the truth... they had been tricked into arriving here in an attempt to slow down the Elite. With many apologies on both sides (sincere and insincere), the two teams parted and a DEO task force descended on the house to search for clues.

With time running out, the Elite followed a lead to an oil tanker making port in Seattle and, deep in the bowels, found an operation designed to try and replicate Menagerie's powers. Fleeing the ship, the Elite decided that they would need to hunt down Intergang and ensure that no terrorists could be given Menagerie's awesome powers...

One week later.

After tracking a trail of leads across the globe, the Elite discover the location of another Intergang research facility. They launch a raid, and in the ensuing chaos set Intergang's bio-weapons division back five years. But a brilliant, twisted Intergang scientist at the facility was also working on dimensional technology and blasted the Elite with his dimensional rifter, intending on tearing them apart. Instead, the team was sent hurtling through the dimensional barriers, falling through the cracks of reality for all time...

"So if these crazy cultists finish their ritual, they'll summon something form between the cracks of reality?"
"Astute as usual, Big Red."
"And we're not stopping them because?"
"To interrupt the ritual would cause five seperate hells to notice and invade our world."
"... right. Well, they better finish soon, my leg's getting cramps from hiding here."
"It sounds like they're almost... they are, they're done. There's the rift, and... my god, are those people wearing spandex?"
"Oh, look. A walking skeleton, two demon-women, a shaman, and Robin Hood. Well... let's go beat 'em up and save the world. Again."

Disoriented, the Elite tried to figure out what had happened to them. But within moments, they were attacked by the strange inhabitants of this world: demons, fish-men, psychotic ninjas. Talk wasn't an option, as the Elite sprang into action, holding their own until Director Bones, moved by Green Arrow's heroic self-sacrifice in an attempt to protect Batgirl, let his emotions take over and lead his team into certain death.

And then, their bodies turned into whisps of energy and faded away...

A flash of light, and four figures tumble to the ground. With a groan, they pick themselves up and dust themselves off.

"Die. Brilliant plan, Dawn."
"We're still alive, aren't we?"
"Bones won't be when I get my hands on him. Where is he?"
"I don't know. Where's Ollie and Vera?"
"... Coldcast? Good to see you. Ollie was just with us. Bones, too."
"Wait, you guys went somewhere? We all just got hit by that dimensional gun a moment ago. You haven't--"

"YOU THERE! YOU HAVE ENETERED A RESTRICTED AREA! THROW DOWN YOUR WEAPONS AND PREPARE TO BE JUDGED!"

"... here we go again."
