Yeah, this should be real cool. Funny, we play and Doom is nowhere to be seen and the actual Sinister Six are away too. Regarding set up, since you are home, you set up first. However, you choose sides, decide who goes first and get 2 HOs.
Basically, you decide everything but the penalty is you set up first.

I know, I was thinking the same thing. It's a shame that we're playing during the pre-season while we're using our plebs, but I'm still pleased that we do get a chance for a grudge match. If I had've known I was facing you I certainly would have included Doom, Tasky, and most importantly of all Stilt-Man! :p

I'm so glad to be on a different map also. Seemed like I always had the same two maps all of last season.

Yeah, the grudge match should be fun. And HA! Stiltman would have been soooooo insulting. He SUPPOSED to be a member of this alternate team.
I really wish we could get access to some of the other maps out there. The map pack maps get a bad rap, but I really liked them visually and I always enjoyed playing on them. In fact, I have a real simple and fun scenario that works pretty well on the Danger Room map.

Sinister Six Turn 1:
Free) "Okay boys, this is the place. Spread out." Kingpin checks leadership, roll is -- 1, fails.
1) "You are NOT in charge here Fisk. Nor are we the only ones come seeking Tesla's Device. Let us see who dares oppose me. Come on Puppet." Green Goblin grabs Puppet Master by the scruff of the neck and flies to O-10. He tosses Puppet Master into the bushes at P-9.
2) "It was Jameson what let them to us, I tell. Oh, but they'll pay. Especially Jameson... Mu-Hoo-Hoo-HA-HA-HAA...." Scorpion leaps to P-13 and stands astride the dumpster there.
Free) "Ghab-draghhhla-muuhhhmm... Hey, I'm kinda thirsty..." Venom perplexes Hydro Man's movement to 8.
3) "Ya know, I think I heard something in THAT building. I'll check it out..." Hydro Man sloshes to Q-19.
The rest of the team stands upon the lonely campus lawn and eyes one another suspiciously.

Story Post:
The Wizard looked around at the latest incarnation of the Frightful Four. His team had been recruited by Doom himself for the new season of the League, and he had every intention of usurping Taskamaster as Doom's right hand man. His team had fared okay against the West Coast Avengers, barely pulling out a victory despite his own clumsiness, but he knew this was the true test. Doom had been ranting about the Sinister Six ever since they had fought against Phoenix. "If it wasn't for them I would have claimed the power of the Phoenix for myself." He had kept saying. If the Wizard's tema within the team could humiliate the 6, then it would surely put him in Doom's good graces.
MinionsTurn 1:
1) Wingless Wizard picks up Klaw and flies to F14, placing Klaw at G15.
2) Whizzer runs to I15.
3) Rad-Man walks to G14.

Glad you liked the story post. I was going to do something similar for the last game but didn't get around to it. But for you, I had to make a special effort. ;)
It's so hard to work out a time with the time differences. Depending where you are in the States, I'm generally about 8 to 12 hours ahead of you. I should be online for the next few hours at least though- I'm at work on my Saturday job, and i can get online a lot more in this one than my weekday one.
Otherwise my time online is just when I can manage it. Next weeks going to be all over the place for me. But I am hoping to finally set up the internet at home again next week as well (although my wife is extremely reluctant about it ;) ). So there is hope.
If we aim to post a move everyday, and maybe two when we're both on. we should have no trouble getting through in the two weeks. It's always a bit of a struggle though.

Also, looking closer, Pete cannot create a barrier in any of the J spaces, as they are 8 squares away. Pete has a 6 range.
I think you'll need to correct your turn before I can go.

Ah you're right. I print out the map and pencil in the positions, and didn't spot the V written in pencil over the bush. We'll just make the attack against Venom instead. He still misses anyway.
As far as Pete, I was sure it was 8 range on him, but the Wizkids site says 6. I'll have to check my own figure when I get home. If you've got your figure there and you're certain it's 6, then Wingless Wizard will just take a 0 move action and push instead of Pete making the Barrier.

1) "Time to teach you morons the error of interfering with my plans. And nothing teaches a lesson quite like pumpkin bombs! Ah-Ha-Ha-Haa...." Green Goblin seizes Puppet Master and performs a running shot to K-12, dropping Puppet Master in K-13. He lobs a pair of pumpkin bombs (EE) at Radioactive Man and Klaw. 10 AV (9 + 1 for perplex) vs 15 DV (radio; 14 DV + 1 for hindering) vs 16 DV (Klaw) vs 17 DV (wizard; 15 + 2 ES/D) vs 16 (Nighthawk), needs a 5 (radio), 6 (klaw, nighthawk) and 7 (wizard). Roll is (6, 3), hits everyone. Note that I rolled three times, but I guess the first two were too detailed in their descriptions, as this caused 0 rolls of 2d6, for a big fat nothing. 2) Whizzer runs to K13 and attacks the Goblin. AV of 8 vs DV of 16. Needs an 8. Rolls a 6 (3+3). Ugh. He ends his movement in E13.

Yeah, I've found that most people know very little about R and E Green Goblin thanks to the mega press the LE gets. They are seriously pretty good. Oh, and Puppet Master Objects!

Okay, both explosions are increased by +1 damage due to the critical. So Radioactive Man takes 4 clicks, so must roll impervious. Roll is -- 4, it fails. The impervious still reduces damage by 2, so Radioactive Man takes 2 clicks total. Klaw, Darkhawk and Whizzer all take 2 clicks. Wizard takes 4 clicks and is KOed. Green Goblin gets 1 SA and 1 KO. Venom gets nothing, 'cause again, he was no help.
Green Goblin takes 1 click for the push.

That's ouch alright. Yeesh.
I'm pretty sure the Crit damage only gets added on once at the end though thesedays. They seem to keep changing that rule though so I'm not entirely sure. Can anyone else confirm which way it is now? I'll go check myself either way.
Even if it is only one, that still hurt a lot. Ah, well, I'm sure that Paste Pot Pete can take out your whole team by himself. ;)

Hmmmm, yeah, I don't know. I thought that's how it works. I'll check it too in the morning. Pretty tired right now, need to go to bed. By the way, I forgot about knock back. Let's see, I think Klaw is knocked back to E-17, Radioactive Man to F-15 (where he hits the wall and ignores it because of toughness), Darkhawk goes nowhere because Whizzer is in the way and Whizzer himself goes to C-13. I think that's right.
Oh, and looking at it again, I missed some damage for Darkhawk. He actually takes 4 clicks (3 if you are right). Sorry, pretty late here. I need some sleep...

Looks like WakandaMan's right, based on this post from the rules forum, citing the Icons PAC:
"A critical hit with this attack (Energy Explosion) automatically hits the target(s) and any characters adjacent to the target(s) and deals 1 additional click of damage, even if a character would be hit multiple times by the attack."

Cool thanks CB. I thought that was how it works thesedays.
With multiple knockbacks like this, the characters furtherest out get knocked back first, which means that Whizzer goes to C13, and then Nightwing goes to D13.
So I've got 3 to Nightwing, 2 to Whizzer and Klaw, and 1 to Rad-man. Not as bad as before, but it still hurts. Man, I'm really peeved that Imissed both of those first two attacks against Gobbie! :p
Minions, Turn 4:
1) Calypso moves to E11.
2) Nighthawk throws his HO at Venom. AV of 7 vs DV of 15 +1. Needs a 9 to hit. Rolls a 2 (1+1). Calypso will re-roll that. Rolls a 9 (4+5). Hit for 3 clicks, -1 for Toughness is 2. 1 SA for Nighty and 1 AST for Calypso (she really should get a DFD for that as well ;) )

Still, considering what you said about the knock back, Radioactive Man has to be in F-14 now. Klaw still goes to E-17. Since RM is in F-14, let's assume you put the barrier in G-14 instead of F-14.

Two things: I have Venom on 7 AV now instead of 8, and also Calypso would have PCed that attack. Not that it matters with that awful Blades roll....man I hate it when that happens.
Man, I don't like these 2 week games. Much too much of a squeeze. I hope we can manage a couple more turns. Sorry I didn't get on yesterday, I had a very full on day.

Well, I suppose I could take another turn, but I think that would be unfair, so I won't. Good game. It ended up musch closer than it likely would have. Had we gone the full fifteen, I think Green Goblin would have been making Venom a big pot of stew outa your whole team...

Oh, we're ready. I'm looking forward to it. It's funny, but I'm looking forward to starting each new season as much as I look forward to a new set coming out. I'm amazed by that. We REALLy have something going here.
Of course, I have no idea who you're gonna field, so I'm just not gonna worry about it. I'm focussing more on my guys and what they can do. We're getting to a point where I'm pretty pleased with my guys. They can be pretty dangerous, and hey, I just love spider-man villains -- especially the Sinister Six.
Time to earn some respect this season...

As for the best time to play, well, that's usually real late -- after 11:00 PM Pacific. If my opponent can handle it, I can usually get in 2-4 hours at that time. I really shouldn't stay up that late, but hey, what can I say. I'm just stupid like that.

Great game! You really slaughtered me. Looks like the Wizard is going to get destroyed by Doom for his incompetence. ;)
