HCR Custom Clix Contest - Semi-Final Voting (Pt 2)

At the beginning of this month, the HCRealms Artisan's Guild came together for the 1st Annual Custom Clix Contest. The contestants were each asked to enter a team, much like the Danger Room starter set, that consisted of a pre-built, comic-accurate team.

They created their new sculpts, matched them up with dials that WizKids had produced so that their new creations would be 'tourney legal', added Feats as necessary, and submitted their creations in hopes of winning PayPal gift certificates and LE figures.

Now, it is up to you to help us determine the winner.

All that we request is that you please take a moment to take a look at each of the entrants below. Look at the mods themselves and, of course, take a look at the team builds. Then, pick the one that you like the best and cast your vote.

A note on voting: Due to constraints on the number of options allowed in each poll, voting will be divided (as evenly as I can) into two different divisions, or 'semi-finals', for the first round. Polls for the first round will close in 7 days. At that time, the top 6 vote-getters -- three from each division -- will advance into the 'finals'.

That was my second one and I had to debate which to pick from. Which Soldiers just gave it the win.

Had to go with the Invaders by rctpool. First of all, I always loved the characters and comic. Secondly, the work was wonderful. Creating Toro from Cosmic Boy was not only a wonderful idea, but the work was wonderfully executed as well. Using Robin for Bucky was a stoke of genius, as was the unusual step of using the Skrull for Cap. Just great work all around.

Probably would have gone for the New Avengers by kardsharker316 as my runner-up. Loved the work on the Ronin mod and he did a great job with the Iron Spidey as well.

And props to machineman for such a kick-arse Superboy-Prime mod. Man, he looks as evil as he is in that comic.

Great work by all, and kudos to all the entrants again for some amazing work. :cool:

This group was a lot closer than the first one. I really thought the Invaders, Avengers, and Secret Six were equal. I chose the Secret Six because it looked like there was more work involved, since none of the characters have appeared in Clix before.
New Characters > Older characters we've seen before.
Kudos to everyone that entered, though, this is some impressive stuff.

I choose the new avengers as really liked the look of the new spiderman as it looked like a lot of thought went into the design of the character. It was a tough race as all looked great and hopefully these will find their way to wizkids. congrats on all the clix builders.

Invaders here. But I was dissapointed in a lack of Union Jack and Blazing Skull (both of whom WK desperately needs to make).

hey i like the S.S.S but hey any advice for some one who wants ta make the new x men. they are elixer x23 mercury hellion rockslide dust and surge. i have ideas but would love to hear others ideas and also i was just told jubilee is in the next set i said before i wasnt sure on a different post but she is as far as the bosten convention is letting us know any way let me know im starting easy with rockslide. he's the thing but grey and he detatches his limbs so im using fantastic forces thing paint and a dial with 4 range and duel target thanks!

I chose Invaders but it was a tough descision because of the Infinite Crisis sculpts. If they would have had one more that looked just as good then it probably would have swung my vote.

It was a tough choice between the Invaders and the Soviet Super Soldiers for me, but in the end I had to vote for the Invaders.

i dont get how the voting is set up. i voted on the superfriends. then this new one came up and i cant vote on any of them on th ehome page voting scare. it jsut shows the results so far. wazzup with that?

The choice was hard, but there are three very good reasons why I voted for the Soviets :

- They're communists !! :laugh:

- Most of them don' have their figs yet

- but probably the best reason : there is Darkstar among them, and she's needed to complete the Champions !!!

WOW, yet another tough decision...and I don't think it's going to get any easier. Again, you all did such a great job and you make it very difficult to decide.

Even though the inclusion of a medic pains me, I can write off the fact that the Invaders were battling it out in WWII so it wouldn't be unheard of...and I've always loved the Invaders. I try to keep nostalgia out of the decision but in the face of a seeming perfect tie between entrants I have to take other things into consideration (team build, etc...). In this case I have to give it to the Invaders. Other than the medic, I see myself playing that team. :)
