The scores are basically reflective of 2006 performance plus to a lesser extent games played, years playing, etc.

From now(including 9/16 & 9/20 tourney) the scores would move up or down depending on tournament performance. But, when I say tournament performance it does not mean where you rank in the tourney but rather who you beat and who you lost to. Bye wins and losses will not be reflected in the scores. (no cheap wins).

Raping newbies also will be less valuable. You don't earn as much point when you beat the #### out of a newbie as opposed to beating say Jayvee, Charlon, Marco or Patrick (sorry guys for putting bountys on your head).

Some of the stuff in the rankings require a lecture, so I will be skipping that but if you do have questions. Don't hesitate to post them.

Again just to clarify mr prof sir...what age are the "younger" students pag ikaw ang nag rate? and tutoo po bang may mga batang students na willing to go and do "lahat-lahat" 4 a quick buck este good grades pala?:p
I plan to teach kasi sumday kaya gusto ko pong makaiwas sa ganitong mga tukso po sir...Sana matulungan nyo ko, and mabigyan ng numbers ng mga kaawa awang estudyante na mga ito:p (joke lang po)

Galing ng strategy a ratings, kahit di ko naiintindihan :p whats great here is the consideration of who you beat, and lost to parang sa Magic : the gathering standings, if ur on top of the list and lost to anewbie, newbie gets more points right compared if he wons over just another newbie.

And its really clever that cheap wins like raping newbies and byes are less valued :cool:

The standings are INITIALLY based on the overall performance for the year up to september 16 (startign jan). After which the rankings are updated based on tournament performances after sept 16.

YES, the rankings are similar to ELO rating ng chess, we have own twist on it but clixmetric ranking parallels ELO rating. The MAJOR difference being teh presence of DICE in our game. Chess is played with perfect information while heroclix has a degree of randomness in it.

Inactivity will affect your Clixmetric ranking but hindi pa sya kasali at this point. There are still stuff i'm trying to figure out how long an inactivity will kick in.

here's the deal. check out the BR thread. di lang yung CTX ang included dun sa last adjustment ng ranking. PLUS all this guys have HIGH rankings. anytime that they suffer losses, their rankings would tend to slip.

CASE in point. Charlon went 2-1 nung CTX. Good!! for most of us maybe but since Charlon is the #1 player before CTX, that lost doesn't help his ranking.

Relax, Prof Dawg, we're just making an observation. we appreciate the fact that youre making the rankings (thank you po). but i hope that doesn't mean we can't even comment on it. in fact wala nga akong question e. :p

i do have a general idea of how the system/computation works, but it does reveal certain... inequities, for lack of a betterword. case in point: people who don't play anymore get to maintain their clixmetric points, whereas those who play run the risk of going lower with each game, right?
like you said, the clixmetrix computation system is a work in progress. i hope these comments can help to perfect it, if you feel it needs some tweaking.

hmm...i was probably in lecture mode. sorry about that.

to address your observations. people who don't play may maintain their ranking ... for a while. a decay of the clixmetric point is included in the system. unfortunately the system is only about a month old. not long enough for anyone to lose any points due to inactivity. i will be trying to install a quarterly decay of the rankings(for those who are inactive only)

points awarded for tourneys are usually used for the POM and possibly the POY. what is important sa rankings ay yung 3-0 record mo during the tourney. the HCX rankings natin ay based on the Won-Loss record and the ranking of your opponent.

just to clarify.

unfortunately, it's a difficult proposition when a VETERAN player comes out of retirement/semiretirement to play again. i can't possibly give him a newbie ranking because it would severely be unfair to the veteran players. kaya ang entry level ng "comebacking players" ay usually 1300-1500.

i know that may seem unfair but it's not as bad as you think it is. look at GatX's ranking. problemado din ako nung umpisa kasi at the start of the ranking, medyo bihira nang maglaro si Gat. his actual ranking based on the tourneys would have been only in 1200s. but that $uccks, he is definitely better than that ranking. so i had to give him a DIFFERENT entry level ranking. something closer to his skills. buti nga he decided to play again, kasi i was able to SEE that the ranking is working because at this point, HIS ranking is more reflective of his actual SKILLS (tnx gat).

Another thing i would like to address is the contraction of the rankings. the top guys are losing points despite good performances. this doesn't mean that they are playing badly, it's just that the rest of the guys are getting better.

hopefully, with the GPA(games played adjustment), some of the issues would get addressed

And actually, maganda yung move ni Glenn to grant players like Chong a high entry level. Otherwise it would be really funny to see a player like him cause havok on the rankings. (coz they'd be "raping" one vet after another)

Since our dear friend Mikey has migrated to the US. We will temporary(he might decide to comeback) retire his Number(heroclix number). He will maintain his points BUT will not be part of the Official ranking. Meaning may opening slot sa TOP TEN next month.

Also, some clarification. People with a ranking of 1500+ get penalized for inactivity(e.g. not playing in a month). If ur score is less than 1500, wala ng penalty.

Conrats to Gian, Harold, Geoff, & Tony. For moving up the ladder.

Ok, tama na muna kabastusan. Lots of changes happening in just one month...A little changing of the guards happening from the 6th spot onwards. The Top 5 hasnt changed. Here are some notables
- Judge Gatxilla the Hun falling from 6th to 8th place maybe due to the Marvel Heroes loss to lower ranked players and inability to win the big games after Clixmaggedon. Here's hoping he wakes up from his slump to get back near the top.
- The Great Mindreader slipping from 7th to 10th...better start playing Sir and show us again why you are considered one of the finest.
- A great leap from 21st to 13th was accomplished by the Avatar of International Trade and Industry Lord Candy. Lord Chitorrero and Dr Hell Andok also showed significant jumps due to great performances on the major tourneys.
- But the biggest story came from the ATC Judge Ecchs aka Lord Recluse: jumping from 12th to 6th!!! Awesome jump into the top ten players Kind Sir. Congratulations!!!
- On the lighter note: the Kiddie Anton aka "Shazam My Back" stays on top of the Girly Boy Xtriker for the Nth time!!! Better show some spunk kid...maybe you should learn some more Ninjitsu lessons from your Lord and Emperor Ipihitmopato :classic:

Anyways, Thanks for the Clixmetric Dawg...we appreciate the effort you put in this every month. Yup, Mikey, Ill play more...this month nga lang talaga madalas ako mag judge even sa Galeria due to Judge Gatxs early departure or absence sometimes sa Venue...(Its a valid personal reason really - so no choice din ako at times but to Judge on Saturdays too). I love playing at Regala Towers though...by the pool pa un with swimming longkatuts :p .

Great jump for some people notably
- The Lord Almighty Jesus chris from 36 to 26!!! Hindi na mapipigilan itong taong (is he even human or god hehhe) ito from really improving and winning tourneys!!! Good going Champ!!
- Next we have the Semi-Newbie Harold Soon...from 28th to 21 = A real improvement. Yeah!
- Chito rerro who continues climbing the rankings by being 18th from 21st while having fun doing it..
- The Lord Recluse, steady as an arror from 9th to 7th Wow!!
- Sir Eliot Back on the Top 5 from the 7th last month...The Overlord Joel A.
- And Chong making his way slowly but surely to the top...in my book he deserves to be there.
- Charlon and Javey magkapatong pa rin..:p .uhhh, man action by Stardust hehehe.. Nice going guys, keeping your respective places.
- and of course, entering the Top 10 from Number 16 last Month: Arthur Destiny!!! Galeng talaga pre. If only Gatx wasn't on top of you mas prestigious sana ung posisyon mo ngayon hehhehe(j/k): But Good Going Gaiking Arthur D2!!

THERE are some minor changes in the INACTIVITY rules. BEFORE, if a player is inactive for a while. POINTS are deducted from his RANKING. NOW, i simply remove him from the list (temporarily) until he becomes active again.
