This movie was bad. Really bad. I just can't believe how hugely, mind-bogglingly bad it is. I didn't buy the original Ghostbusters on DVD for ages because it came packaged with this nightmare (I finally picked it up with the Bill Murray triple-pack of Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day and Stripes). Lame plot, lacking in action, and not all that funny either. I've seen worse movies, but not many.

Well, while Ill certainly say that GB2 was a far cry from the original Classic Comedy that was Ghostbusters, Ill also say its not on the same level as some of the worst trash ever but on film either.
GB2 was entertaining enough, we saw the whole gang back, we saw how their lives changes since the first film, saw how NYC basically took them as hoaxmasters and disavowed the GBs themselves. Then when a new supernatural threat emerged, our heroes were needed again and rejoined to combat this new evil in their own unique fashion.
Sure the Vigo villain was a far cry from Zul the destroyer, Annie Potts secretary become a cartoon character, and Bill Murrays charm was heading into the annoying level, but overall it wasnt a Horrible film. A failure when compared to the first GB, but not a bad film on its own (reminds me alot of Jaws 2 in that respect)
All in all, a mildly entertaining film deserving of a mildly entertaining overall rating.

(God, anyone remember the year this came out, how many other huge movies came out in the Summer of 89 - Batman, Lethal Weapon 2, Indy Jones and the Last Crusade, and a good deal more)

I absolutely loved this film. It was scary, it was sweetness, and funny in places. The only thing it was missing was a SMOKIN' hot possessed floating Sigourney Weaver.

Funny movie, not as good as the original but good enough to entertain me.

I'm divided on how I want to vote for this movie.
Technically, I know it wasn't a good movie in a lot of ways - it definitely suffered sequelitis in many spots - and definitely doesn't hold a candle to the original.
Here's the thing though: unlike many sequels, this one had actually advanced our characters. The people we knew from the first one had for the most part grown and changed and developed - really, who would have envisioned Sigorney as a single mother after having just watched the first movie? - and we saw how quickly the populace forgets heroes. That and I'm one of those folks who tries to catch whatever Peter MacNicols shows up in, even to the point of watching portions of Numb3rs just because it's cool to see him in it. :)

Umm, based on his description, I'm pretty sure that ReZourceman was rating the original Ghostbusters...

Except the original did have a floating Siggy Weaver in sheer dress....please note that I avoided the words "SMOKIN' hot" as, well, she never did much for me. :)

5/10 Theres a lot that I just don't like about this movie and never really did. One of those things thats ALWAYS annoyed me were the small differences, the way the particle beams looked different, the way they wore the traps on their belts instead of hooked on the packs, and that damn two logo. That was just silly.
All in all its a passibly enjoyable movie but it just doesn't hold a candle to the first. Hopefully if this new animated movie they're talking about materializes it'll be good.

It's got Bill Murray in it....That says enough for me.....8...Even though I will admit the logo was stupid
