So, basicly, you're saying no AST points for Manitou Dawn this game either, huh? :)

Player 2, turn 1:

Judge Dredd knows a thing or two about taking on undead demonic creatures, so he silently motions for the rest of his squad to take out the demonic hellspawn. (you didn't just hear that)

Dredd runs over to C24 and gets a trajectory on Coldcast to ensure he can't get the drop on the rest of his squad. (attempt to outwit RS) His movements catalogued, Dredd has Coldcast's number. (rolled a 1 for white noise)

Judge Anderson follows Dredd's lead and heads to B24. After mentally assessing the opposition, she telepathically alerts Robot to Manitou Dawn hiding behind the patio furniture. (attempt to perplex damage on Robot, rolled a 3 for success).

Having recieved the message, Robot calibrates his targetting computer to zero in on Dawn's location (perplex his attack, rolled a 5) however, the onboard systems have a short. He'll have to figure that out later.

Picking up Judge Hershey, Robot makes a daring race seemingly straight towards the demonic Batman. However at the last minute he veers off course and takes a shot at Manitou Dawn.

(Transporter move/attack to L22/M23 and taking a shot at Dawn. 8 on 14, he gets a 5, 2 for the hit and 3 damage)

Manitou Dawn falls to the ground in a heap. She seems barely able to catch her breath.

Judge Hershey jumps off the back of Robot's skycycle to L21, braving the wrath of Batman, although no Batman this world has ever seen.

Robot, being at L22, is adjacent to Menageria at M21 and so cannot make a ranged combat attack on another figure.

Right? Or are double-bases immune to that rule?

da-Craig-O
10/13/2006, 18:18
I'm sorry. I had Batman marked at M20. In that case, I would have put Robot at L23/M23.

Does that work? Or do I have to redo or something.

Hershey would then go to L22 in that case.

EDIT* In other words, No. I would not have put Robot next to Bats, nor can he shoot while adjacent to an opposing figure.*

As much as I hate having Manitou knocked into useless ness, I see nothing wrong with that move -- it prevents needless re-rolling. :) I'm okay with it. Turn 2 coming up.

------------------

"****, they're fast," Menagerie shouted, "Dawn's down! Coldcast, get out here... my nanobots are malfunctioning..."
"I can't see! Keep talking, I'll find you by ear."
"Follow the screams?"
"What screams?"
Menagerie reaches out and casually brakes Hershey's arm, generating a Coldcast-summoning scream.
"This is the last time you get to call the battle plan, Coldcast..."

------------------
Begining of turn) We'll pass on Coldcast's leadership. We won't be using it.

Free) Menagerie attempts Outwit on Judge Dredd's Outwit (diagonals reference says I've got line, and he's barely within range). Roll is: 4. Couldcast's still blinded.

1) Menagerie pushes for close combat attack on Judge Chocolate, 9vs14. Roll is 4,6=10, hit. Super senses: 1. Hit for 3. Menagerie +1SA and takes a click.

2) Push Coldcast for move action to, pick up Batgirl, fly to N21, drop Batgirl in M22. Coldcast takes a click.

3) Pass

End of turn) Clear Manitou Dawn.

10-4 good buddy. Batman has been a-healed I say. Praise the lord!!

Player 2, turn 2:

Hershey radios into Dredd, "Dredd, it appears that we are facing more than one 'bat' here. I suggest we focus on taking down the bat-people first. They kind of freak me out here."

Dredd: "Sounds good Hershey. All officers focus on bat-related perps first."

Hershey, still gripping her injured arm, decides to plant a side kick into Menagerie's solarplexes to return the favor. Robot tries to advise Hershey to go for the head, but she doesn't seem to be listening. The blow lands on target, but not as effectively as it could have. The Leaguer grimaces in pain from the blow.

Meanwhile, Arwyn moves in towards the house in a flanking manuever.

------------------------------
1. (free) Dredd call 2000 A.D. team ability on Bat-Team.
2. (free) Robot tries to perplex Hershey's damage, but fails the white noise roll with a 4.
3. Hershey hits Menagerie for 1 damage.
4. Arwyn runs to J17.

Ding, ding!

Player 2, turn 6:

Judge Anderson tries to telepathically contact Robot to have him attack Manitou Dawn. Seems she forgot that he is a machine and he can not hear her.

However, Robot has summized the same strategy and Dawn takes a blast to the hip that knocks her to the ground, unconscious.

Robot: "Pardon me, Coldcast, but is this your mother?"

As Robot holds up an issue of Penthouse from 1983, Coldcast seems to have forgotten all about protecting Menagerie's flank. Dredd senses the opportunity and strikes her with a billy club, having learned his leasons about playing with electricity.

Anderson: "What do yo think love, stick by you, or get in close? I just can't decide.....I guess I'll stick by you."

--------------------------------
1. (free) Judge Anderson tries to perplex up Robot's attack to 10. She fails.
2. Robot tries to hit Manitou Dawn. 9 on 17 because of defend. He rolls a 2, 6 for the hit and KO.
3. (free) Robot tries to outwit defend on Coldcast. Success.
4. Dredd on Menagerie. 8 on 14 w/ TA bonus. He rolls 2,6 for the hit and 2 damage.
5. Judge Anderson moves to N23.

Turn 7
(pssst, I updated Anderson's location in the recap for you... I figured you didn't want her to stay where she was after you gave her the move action.)

"I can't believe you fell for that!"
"I can't believe that robot has a badly photoshopped picture of my mother!"
"I can't believe you two are still resisting arrest!"
"SHUT UP!" *SMACK*
---------------------
1) Menagerie attacks Dredd, 8vs12 (Assuming injuries don't apply immediately... otherwise, 7vs11, but same difference). Not going to bother with BCF, 'cause I know I'd roll a 1. Roll is: 6,4=10, hit for two and Dredd is down. Menagerie +1SA, +1KO.

2) Coldcast RCE on Anderson, 8vs15. Roll is 5,5=10, hit for three and knockback into the edge of the map at N24 for another click. Damn, I shoulda gone for Robot. but no, I think, what're the odds of my getting that 10 I need? Coldcast +1SA, Map Edge +1 AST.

Nope, injury penalties don't apply unless the fig is in an injured state upon entering the game.

Dunno if you meant for knockback damage, but he's immune to knockback, due to his double base.

Hrm. Decisions, decisions... do I go for the near-definite kill, or the chancy big wound?

I know... let's do one, and if it doesn't work, do the other!

Free) Menagerie drops Willpower.
1) Menagerie pushes to move to M22 and takes her click.

Free) Menagerie attempts to Outwit Robot's ES/D. Roll is a 4, no good.

2) Coldcast pushes for RCE (overkill?) on Da Judge, 8vs12, roll is 1,5=6, hit for three and a definate KO. Coldcast +1SA, +1KO, 1 click of pushing.

The ball is in your court now... you need to knock out both of my guys for the win. I have to rest next turn. So if you want, you get two turns of uniterrupted attacks. You can knock out one of my guys in that time.

In the interest of preventing any more injuries, I will gladly accept a surrender at the end of your next turn (to let you get in one more stat).

Peers

Look at it this way: By the time you finish off Menagerie, Coldcast will be back onto RCE with a higher attack value -and- you'll be hurt more from pushing. That's if I decide to stick around. By the time you finish Menagerie, I can be on the other side of the board and waiting for you to show up in my sights.

But, I'm sure you're right. What're the odds of another injury in this game? :)

Turn 11.

1) Menagerie pushes for another swing at Robot, 7vs15. Roll is: 5,6=11, hit for two, and Robot's ride is taken out from underneath him. Menagerie +1SA, no pushing damage due to willpower.

Free) Menagerie attempts Outwit on Robot's Perplex. Roll is: 3, Robot's processors are screwed up as Menagerie learns to obey this world's physical laws.

Free) Coldcast considers his options. De-throned, Robot's still a formidable hand to hand fighter. If Coldcast goes on the offensive, Menagerie's definately taking a hit... but if he stays, will his powers be enough to fend off Robot's newfound need to get up close and personal and protect his teammate long enough for her to finish things?

2) Coldcast... pushes to phase up and then down again, taking a click of pushing damage and switching his powers into offensive mode.

Turn 13.

Hey now, hey now, if Menagerie wasn't a flyer, I could've very well tried to outwit Earthbound so I could avoid those combat reflexes... which, well, doesn't really apply much to this situation.

So... now I have to hope I don't roll the fifth injury of the game, huh? What scares me is they were all critical misses... I've yet to see a critical hit during a game... well, one I've taken part in.

1) Menagerie ranged attack on Robot, 7vs14. Roll is: 2,3=5, swing and a miss.

2) Coldcast sighs as he has to play cleanup and makes an RCE on Robot, 9vs14. Roll is: 5,3=8, hit for the KO and the match.

Good game... I think we were pretty evenly matched, but the map played strongly to my stealth advantage. Robot's a pain to go up against, too... pity we both go so many injuries out of this.
