So, our next film, Classic or Crud, Hit or Miss, what say you ALL?

Our next film open for discussion, and ultimately an Overall RATING by you all:

X2: X-MEN UNITED
5OYraHke6I4

Let the discussions flow. Likes, dislikes, classic film or overhyped trash, and DONT FORGET to place an Overall Rating when youre done.

Its easy, just give a Rating from 1 (Jaws 4:The Revenge) to 10 (Jaws), and thats it. Course I'd love to have you all give reasons as to why you feel it deserves this Overall Rating, and more than encourage discussions with us all about them.

So, what say you all?

My favourite of the three.
When I first saw it the first scenes blew my mind.

I have to say that Nightcrawler loses a lot of character in the German translation, though...

8/10

Probably the best of the X-Men movies. While I found the X-movies were so-so in many places - they just seemed overly "forced" or "corney" in many parts (the music was a large part of that - proof of why a great score can make a difference) - X-2 was decent in most scenes...as long as they didn't include Jean (yeah, I know that shoots the ending) or Storm...or included more Cyclops (wait, he was barely in this movie either...geez!). :) Seriously, Nightcrawler was great and I thought Pyro stole the show in many places. It was darker and the plot was overall very workable. While far from my favourite super-hero film - that honour is a tie between "Superman I" and "Superman Returns" - I was more than willing to watch this film again when it came out on DVD and certainly didn't feel like I wasted a ticket at the theater on it (unlike X-3).

Score: 8/10

Definately the best of the 3. 8/10

I *really* didn't like how Scott was killed off just to appease Halle Berry's ego. (Waa, Waa. I'm not in the spotlight. Waaa)

Don't worry, it wasn't just that.

Word is the killing was a flip-of-the-bird to the actor for agreeing to be in "Superman Returns" (which, ironically, he was offered in part because Singer felt like Cyke had gotten short-shrift in the X-films).

Best comic book movie ever.

10/10

(I realize that the Sin City and V for Vendetta fans are going to go nutso over this post. It's just my opinion, don't make a big deal of it. Thank you.)

Definately my favorite of the 3 X-Men films, X2 was a truly incredible comic book movie and overall film. Great characters, story, action and emotion (something X3 sorely lacked), with terrific pacing, a phenominal beginning and an amazing ending. I couldnt wait to see what was coming next after this excellently made film......unfortunately, I was incredibly disappointed when I did see.

X2 - X-MEN UNITED - 9.25 / 10

But you did get to see what came after this - another Singer comic-book film (hey, X-3 was so different than the other two I barely count it as part of the trilogy). :) Just pretend that you didn't go see X-3 and, instead, Singer made "Superman Returns" as the third part of the trilogy - even totally switching the X-Men to one super-hero and having no X-characters, it's still better than X-3. ;)

This was a good movie. They did a nice job with the characters. I could have wished that Xavier had more of an active role, but that left room for Magneto to shine.

10/10. Best comic book movie I have seen hands down.

I was very disappointed in X3 ( Still enjoyed it, but jeeze, the precident set by X1 and X2...it didn't come close to living up to that ) but it was still infinitely better than Superman Returns, which quite franky, bored me and had a ton of weak plot devices in it. I was really looking forward to it, too. *sigh*

I actually didn't see this one (I can't believe you're up to 91...there are so many I need to rate).

I chose this one because I think it's the greatest comic book film ever made. It's perfect and compliments the first film quite well. There are a number of unforgettable action scenes and of course the character developement for such a big cast is impeccable...few directors pull that off as well as Bryan Singer. Unfortunately, the movie's greatness serves to expose how bad X3 really is.

Rating: 9.75

Okay I know this is slightly an old thread, but I thought it was important :p

I consider it the second best of the movies (by a hair), if only because they messed around with the characters alot while not making most of them any better (although I actually like the movie pyro better than the comic pyro) and Jean's "death" led to alot of the bs that happened in the 3rd movie.

One if the top ten best comic book movies ever. Action movies tend to bore me but this one was great even on a second and third viewing.

8 out of 10

X-men two was alright, but it wasn't that great.

The best of three. More action and better character development than the first and better everything than the third(which isn't saying much).
I give it a 9.

best comic book movie (superhoer based) IMO, and the best of the three.

I really enjoyed it, although its not that interesting of an X-men movie over all. And I love the nods to Star Trek 2: Wrath of Kahn, one of the greatest scifi movies ever and the best thing to happen to Star Trek ever.

Best of the X-Men franchise IMO. The whole story was good from start to finish. Stryker, Lady Deathstrike, Master Mind, and the opening sequence with Nightcrawler was amazing. The way Magneto escaped from the prison was genius. I love this movie. One of my top comic movies.
