Have you ever experienced purchasing a booster then end up with either a LOT of BAD figs or a WHOLE $h!+load of Rares+Unique? Share your Booster Experiences!
I had my share of bad ones, like having RE Wizard and other cr_ p for Sinister...

When I first started buying clicks, Infinity Challenge and Hypertime, I never pulled a unique from a booster... :( But I got really good figs, like my first IC had vet Magneto and my first Ht had Batman E. I got good REVs from the boosters I bought kaya ok lang. My first Unique was in Critical Mass, Captain Marvel... :laugh: Pero yung naging swerte ko sa LEs... 7 fellowships (3 in a row at one time), 7 LE Wizkids Prizes, and 1 Galactus Give-away from Wizkids... It pretty much balanced out. That's why I'm here to stay... I LOVE THIS GAME! :grin:

Advice ko sa yo, member ka din sa wizkids site, then participate sa mga polls nila kahit lame siya, also be active sa forums... You'll get noticed... also play more games, bagging fellowship is not hard as it sounds. Just play for fun and your opponent will vote for you.

No one in the pilipins can touch my losing streak: 22 boosters of legacy, 0 uniques (pero may SR, Todd Rice pa tlga). My 23rd booster yielded an Ares woohoo. My 24th had an SR (Wildfire).
My 2nd Loser set was FForces, 24 boosters, only one unique - Baron Mordo, but I also got 2 sr's, Sue Storm and Ben Grimm :)
Plus, in the marquee, I pulled the pink menace himself, Nimrod yehey
Of course, once you've had your downs, you'll get some ups (labo). I pulled every unique in mutant mayhem (except Black Queen and Giantman), including 3, yes 3 Loki's, from around 20-30 boosters...
Recently, I had great luck with Collateral Damage, my first three boosters all had uniques in them. Orion, Dr. Psycho and another one.. forgot. My Brick got me Adam Strange and some others, but more importantly, rare vets like Supes, Emerald Empress, Mary Marvel, Red Tornado, etc.
So my advice? Stick with singles putek. Ngayon lang ako natuto hehe

ang yayaman niyo naman! ako bumibili lang ako ng booster depende sa toss coin hehe yeah umaasa ko sa piso kung may maganda ko makukuha o hinde, so far di pa ko binigo ng piso ko. hehe pag di ako nag toss coin lagi panget nakukuha ko. sa CD lang ako bumili ng brick sa kasamaan palad puro pulpol nakuha kong unique at walang matinong Vet fig except for supes

Now, now Arthur... Jim Lee may have created them, but he's just the artist. It's Grant Morrisson's Wildcats now. The writer would always get credit/ownership for the book/run before tha artist. Unless of course the guy's name is Alex and his last name is Ross. ;) But we're getting off-topic a little here.

a looooooooong time ago.... My bro and I bought split a case of CJ, Cosmic Justice..... it already opened the box after customer bought.... got only 6 uniques... 2 Amazo and 2 Superman S.O.D., Son of Darkseid.. Eclipso and.. I think Lex Luthor. :-| not too bad... at least 8 uniques...
My 1st loser set was Unleashed... a case (48 boosters) + around 25 (gatx, youngest bro, and me) boosters got all uniques except KC SUPES!! :angry:
Legacy... bought a case too... got double ARES and KC HAWKMAN and...sorry....forget...except KC GL, Flash, Red Robin, Oracle, General Zod, and Mongul.
3 months ago... I had a very very lucky to buy my own a case of CD. it was complete!! UNBELIEVABLE!! :cheeky:
and now... I really can't wait to buy a case of DC Origin!

ako naman, i just started with the sinister expansion... around 10 boosters and the best booster had a wolverine U and spiderman E but na balance out naman by two jack o lanterns! hehe malas sa boosters.. but i might try the the brick of supernova para ma beef up ang collection ko! haha may balita ba kelan ang release?

I told him the same thing. He wouldn't listen. I thought he was exaggerating but turns out he actually stepped on the V Joker for real. Too bad, he could've traded it off for something good instead. :ermm:

well sa event last saturday, out of the 3 supernova boosters (2 for the game and 1 extra) nakakuha ako ng vet surfer and unique red ghost. problem is pangit na yung mga iba.. haha so walang okay na supporting cast si surfer.. pero in fairness masarap gamitin si R skrull with R ape igor! nahirapan yung iba tamaan.. ang daming moves na nasayang! haha

pinaka malas ko is yung clob' time booster, pulled only 1 unique, got a lot of thors, dooms, blobs...tae!!
pinakaswerte ko is the mutant mayhem, nagagawa ko kc in a day 4 uniques in 4 boosters, sa ibang NG branch, 3 of 3, sa iba 5 of 5...hehehe..
i suggest that you get 2 bricks per set & buy some boosters...my suggestion is you collest the whole set so that you have a lot of selection in building your team, hindi yung puro stuperman icons vet or puro sue storm o kaya hawkeye lng alam ang gamitin...

My brick seems so craptacular beside cons' Brick. Grabe cons ibang klaseng swerte mo, pati apat na uniques mo ang ganda! Buti na lang hindi mo sa sealed nabuksan mga yan ano? Kundi "Gold" na ang last name mo hehe
Anyway, the coallation is pretty ok for the bricks. Got a brick and a half siguro, and as of now, I got an RE or V representation of everyone EXCEPT FOR FRIGGIN SHAZAM.
Green Lantern/Sentinel has the worst sculpt EVER. Buti na lang at Hawkman has the best sculpt EVER.

Just got the best booster I've EVER had yesterday. Nakakatawa lang kase before even thinking about buying, sinabi ko kina art at javey na gusto ko talaga makakuha nung Wizard Shazam ewan ko baket. Before opening the booster na kinuha ko lang sa display (there were only 4 boosters on display sa g2) pinabless ko muna sa dalwang pari: si arthur at javey wahahaha

Had the funniest thing as well.
Bought the last brick I to complete my Origins budget limit. After a so-so brick my gf wanted to buy 1 last booster, sher picked a booster from the stands at NG virra, when I saw another booster na sa tabi ng pinili nya ung taas nya tuklap at walang glue ung flap. Pinilit ko un ang kunin nya... Lo and behold! e2 laman.

I don't know why, but I've been terribly lucky in boosters, ESPECIALLY at the two maquees I've played- MSupernova and DCOrigin.
During the SN Marquee last December, I have been saying that if I get Thanos then I wouldn't need to buy any more boosters. And luckily I did pull him. Those were the only three SN boosters I ever purchased.

And last Saturday, I was bragging about pulling Mr. Mind and Johnny Quick that day, and saying that if I did pull them I wouldn't need to buy a brick. Thank heavens (or hells)! I did. The only wish that wasn't granted was pulling an E Supergirl but I pulled a V Hawkman that Ecchs was willing to trade him for a R and E Supergirl.
Thanks Ecchs! (and to Geoff, Ricochet and Tony for the figs as well)

I still haven't pulled the Flash, V Wonderwoman, V Raven, V Batman and V Superman from Icons though. They're the only figs from Icons I am still missing.

I'd go with sureshot. Sometimes you'd get a booster with nothing good at all, as in nothing. Better use of funds if you just want some pieces

Sure Shots din ako dati... but when a new set comes out now... i'd like to buy 3 boosters and get the rest through tourneys and the singles market... I've been successful with this way ever since... superman vet, hyperion vet, Hawkeye vet, etc... got those big guns all via booster... it's more satisfying than getting one for P300...

i was reading early POST in this thread about strategies, "luck" and gimmicks(tossing coin b4 buying ... geez art) when buying boosters.
IMHO there are two schools of thought when a NEW SET is going to be released. BUT both involve some basic research. Research?? Well you really need to figure out how many figs of the incoming set do you REALLY WANT to have. If it's ONLY a handful of FIGS, then the best strategy WOULD BE to skip buying the booster/brick/case AND just purchase(trade for) the figs u want OR if ur a FAN of the SET. Buy at least a brick (especially ngayon medyo maganda collation) then SIMPLY trade for the figs u want.
At any rate play A LOT, you can get some nice figs on the draft.

I agree. That's what I'm doing with this current set, buy a brick, and then trade/buy singles from there. I did the same thing with Supernova, but looking back, it wasn't a good strategy for that particular set. I was after the Surfer and the Thunder God, and my brick gave me neither. Not even a rookie. I ended up getting those pieces through sureshot purchases.

IMHO there are two schools of thought when a NEW SET is going to be released. BUT both involve some basic research. Research?? Well you really need to figure out how many figs of the incoming set do you REALLY WANT to have. sandman(the comic book character...) is sooooo cool! i wudv loved to pull one.. kaso 4 lng na boosters nabili ko.. sooo true enough sa current unique ratio(1:4).. me isang origin unique ako and no rare vet.. oh well.. singles na lng till makuha ko na lahat ng JSA pieces ko for my JSA/JLA/Legion crossover.. wooohoooo!!

Sa origin mahirap makuha si shazam, supergirl and martian manhunter on the same brick. especially the vets, in fact yung brick ko didn't have any Vet of the three. I got R shazam, RE supergirl and E mm. NO M'onel pa. I'm basing my conclusion on a single brick. Just to simplify the computations. Per booster yung computation ko ng brick, kasi di magkasing dami yung cases. Depende sa bibilhin mo. Mas mura yung per booster price kung case bibilhin mo.

depende sa dami ng bibilhin mo art.. there is a pretty decent chance you'll get a full set of commons sa isang brick(me mga ngreport na kumpleto daw sa isang brick..) full uncommons and rares in a case or three bricks..
yung SRs yung.. erhm ehem.. HOLY SH!T!!! me mga tao sa realms na naka tatlong case na ndi pa rin kumpleto.. maraming bricks and cases kasi na me same kind of SRs sa loob...

on perfect world YOU can get the full SET of COMMONS and UNCOMMONS in a brick. about half the RAREs and 3 SRs. CHASING the SRs are the real problem.

no getting SRs is not the same as origin's and s.nova's chase figs, getting SRs in the avengers set is easier than chase figs.

Bought two boosters today. I have to say, I really love the packaging! Of course, I don't feel it justifies the bloated price increase. Anyway, here are my pulls:

I'm quite happy with all the Common figs that I got. Then again, with the exception of Guardsman, doubles won't be welcome if I buy more boosters. Dragon Man looks cool... Really huge, but I hate the fact that the fig is so soft... I'm happy with Wiccan, but I don't like Falcon at all. Hopefully if I join the marquee this Wednesday I get to pull at least 1 SR.
Actually, the rarity of the SRs is still 1:3. Same sa post-AW Uniques distribution. The problem is buying a pack. Buying 3 AW packs is equivalent to only 2 Avengers packs. So do the math.
True mas mahal na cya ngayon. But for less frequent buyers mas ok ung collation nya, for frequent buyers medyo masakit.

Bought a brick last night, got 3 SRs (Wasp, Quicksilver, The Colonel) and 8 Common & 3 Uncommon dupes. It's an ok brick but I'm not happy 'cause I didn't get Hulk! :(

In order to get more mileage out of your brick purchase, you can try opening one booster a week from your brick. That should last you close to three months. :)
Seriously though, you are right with the idea of going for a few boosters and then hit the singles market. If you are gunning for sure ways to snag some SRs, and a head start to completing the C/U/Rs - buy a brick. If you just want the rares and uncommons, individual boosters are the way to go.
People are going to wind up buying a brick worth of boosters anyway if they want the Heralds and a chance at Galactus.

Actually CD and most of Origins had better sculpts and better material. Avengers is more like Hypertime and Infinity Challenge but made with slightly-hardened Play Doh.

hmmm i believe nakaka 8 boosters na ko since last sat tas un quicksilver SR ko and wasp SR traded for ah bunch of rares and uncommons with joel and cons, and kaya ko nabuo din talaga kakatrade lang haha the color coded tags makes it really easy to trade eh.

Well tataas talaga un price ng SR's kng wala rin mashado nagbubukas. Which could eventually drive the price of singles higher lalo na kung biglang hindi magbitaw mga naghahawak ng mga figs.

LAMENTS on the SRs of the Avenger set will be UNFORTUNATELY repeated in the Justice LEague set. Hopefully di masyadong TRIP ng mga TAO yung Justice Legion set(composing most of the SRs)

Hello everyone, I've been inactive for the past few months. Work is just way too much!
Anyhoo, so far bought 2 Invasion boosters and pulled 1 SR for each namely Impossible Man? and SR Super Skrull Avengers.
Still thinking about purchasing a brick though, not sure if it's really worth it.
