I decided to make a thread for all the games people, for whatever reasons, are not playing. I know there are games like Zelda and Final Fantasy and Halo that everyone flocks to and loves, but there are a few buried treasures out there that sadly get overlooked in all the hustle and bustle. Feel free to talk about any game you've found that some people may have overlooked, but I'll get things started off with one that I'm playing right now that I absolutely love.
I started playing Okami (http://ww2.capcom.com/okami/) about a week and a half ago and it has me absolutely hooked. For those who haven't heard of it, it's largely based on Japanese folklore where you play as Amatesaru reincarnated into the body of a wolf. Your quest is to restore Nippon and renew everyone's faith in you by kicking some demon butt and restoring various aspects of nature.
If you've clicked on that link you can see how beautiful the game is and the soundtrack is great. Try to go out of your way to see it in motion though because that's where it truly shines. From a gameplay perspective it's more or less a lot like Zelda with some highly original additions. What it does mimic it does so well that it's almost as good as playing the best 3D Zelda games. The obvious difference is that you control a wolf, although Amatesaru handles so nicely I may be a little spoiled before giving Wolf-Link a shot in Twilight Princess.
So, in short, go get this game! If you're even considering it, you should give it a shot. Its been getting great reviews and I'm a good 28 hours into it with no end in site. I'm sure everyone's game budget's are a bit thin this time of the year, but everyone should make some room for Okami. With the studio who produced this masterpiece, Clover, shutting down, this may be your only chance to play Okami! Maybe, if it manages to sell well enough, Capcom will do the right thing and reassemble Clover for a sequel. If not, the magnificent original will suffice. I hope anyone who hasn't heard of this game will give it a shot.
