Now that we have the glorious ability to edit our posts, no matter how old, I thought it would be a good time to make this thread.
Here's what you do: Post your DS Friend Codes, and I'll keep track of them here in this post as new ones appear. It's your one-stop shop for portable online lulz.

How is FF3 online?
FF3 really isn't...online, persay. Basically it lets you use NWF to send mail to other FF3 owners. Like, letters you write. The only reason to do this is that by sending letters to X amount of wifi users, you can unlock a secret area, and the Onion Knight job class, which I believe is the pinnacle of the warrior-type jobs.

Haha, ReZ is what I entered on my DS.
I'm surprised at the difference in the DS online modes since launch. I get a full lineup of competition now when I log in, almost immediately.
I'm still OK at MKDS, too. So far the only players I have trouble beating are the Snakers.

Heh, we should get more DS owners to just post here. :cheeky:
Yeah, after taking a big financial hit, I'm starting to recouperate and rebuild. I'm trying to build up my Wi-Fi games again. (The next I'll be getting will be Mariokart DS and Metroid Prime Hunters)

Since learning to play Metroid with the stylus, I can offically declare it the best DS game to date. It takes advantage of EVERY aspect of the DS: The two screens, the pure horsepower, the touch screen, the local multiplayer, and the online multiplayer.
Oh, and it uses the microphone.

Updated with Tetris and Castlevania for me. ;3
my wife has a ds, and is playing final fantasy 3.
it'd be nice if she could get that onion knight class.
does she need to buy some sort of special add on for her gameboy or is it already set up to do this?
anyone feel like helping a ds illiterate out?

Huhwhat?
You mean an add-on for the DS to make it go online? Yes/no.
The DS has wi-fi capabilities built in. All you need is a wireless router (that's on their approved list at www.nintendowifi.com), or in lieu of that Nintendo sells a USB dongle that plugs into a desktop computer to allow online access. The router is better, though, since it's the same price and does more.
Also, you need broadband internet access. I've heard of the DS running some games on dial-up, but I don't know how well it works.

I'd say it depends on the game that people have. Currently, I have the following:
Animal Crossing: Wild World
Mario Kart DS
Final Fantasy III
Metroid Prime Hunters
Pokemon Diamond
And in some point in the near future, I'll pick up Custom Robo Arena and a few others .... it'll depend if I want to continue to purchasing HeroClix or not.

I keep a notepad document on my desktop with all of my FCs and info in it so that I can just copypasta it when the need arises. Which is really stupid, that I even have to do that. Just like the Xbox, right?

We're quite into boiled sweets.
Sherbet Pips = Slightly fizzly nice tasting sweets, that kinda froth up a tiny bit...like sherbet (Hence the name) and are very small.
Rhubarb and Custards = (Suprised you hadnt heard of these) ....Well...quite obvious...Rhubarb and custard flavour boiled sweet.
The shop near me do loads of finest hand made sweets...its really really awesome!

The game data itself is stored on the game card, so you could play the game on any DS.
HOWEVER...
Once you go online with the game, you CANNOT use another DS to go online with that specific game card. The individual game and DS are treated as a pair, so they only work online when paired together.
That's why you could sell a game to EBgames or where ever, and the next person to buy it would be able to see your game saves (if you didn't delete them), but they couldn't go online with your Friend Code, impersonate you, etc.

Okay, so my brother plays diamond and saves his game on the one save slot. If I got another DS and put the same game cartridge in, then I would not be able to start my own new game, his would still be on there?
Evil moneymaking scheme. I wish I'd thought of it :P

If there's only one save slot, then yeah.
It's just like any video game before the Playstation/memory card generation. The saves are on the cartridge, not a memory card or hard drive that's attached to the console itself.

Well, regardless of whether you added me or not, you're still going to pretty much contact (PMs, AIM, e-mail, smoke signals, etc) me if you want to play with me with any of those games listed. For example, I did not post the FFIII friend code since that is only really needed to unlock the Onion Knight job class, so it really becomes more of a gameplay factor. This is as opposed to some of the others like Castlevania (I'll get it in the neartime future) where both players can play or those with a Rivals list like Metroid Prime Hunters or Custom Robo Arena.

Marvel Vs is actually out now? Huh. Been so busy with PokeDia and *breathe* Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! 2 that I forgot to check. Should probably import that and remember the good old days.
Oh, right, codes. Er, don't play Mario Kart because I'm a dirty snaker (adapt or lose, sadly - actually I've probably lost the knack a year later), don't like starfox online, doubt anyone has Jump Ultimate Stars or OTO2, which leaves Poke that I'll add here when I have a 6 man rumble squad to go.

I've got an idea that might make managing this FC crud a little easier.
I say everyone make an entry in their HCR Journal entitles "DS Friend Codes", and you enter in all of your FC's for the titles you own. Then you PM me with the link to that journal entry, and I'll edit the first post of this thread with your handle and the link to said journal entry. That way YOU can keep your FCs up-to-date, and everyone else has a one-stop place to go and get access to FCs.
Of course, you need to remember that a FC is useless unless YOU are added to the other person's buddy list, so make sure you let them know you're adding them.
