Should have some interesting comments here. :) I'd give it an 8. I was actually happy with the film in general (though I didn't care for the fight with the father in the end).

Before he won Oscar for Brokeback Mountain, Ang Lee actually did something bad! And not just bad, "I keep this movie in my bathroom...not for watching though" bad.
What?
Oh yeah...3.5/10
Hulk vs. Soldiers was pretty cool, everything else sucked.
Badly.
4/10
Eh, while Ill probably go on record in saying that Hulk is one of my least favorite Marvel films (above the ranks of X3, Blade Trinity, and Elektra and in the same level as The Punisher) it wasnt a horrible film nonetheless. I didnt need all of those comic panels everywhere (its a comic book movie, I get it, I know who The Hulk is, move on), and there wasnt nearly enough Hulk action as I was hoping, but the Hulk action we did get was done very well (though the final battle with Absorbing Dad was a bit blah) Overall it was an OK film, a bit disappointing for what I was expecting, but far from a horrendous film IMO.

i liked this movie. the action was cool. stan and lou's cameo was awesome and aside from having the absorbing man[ who if i am not mistaken, is a thor villain] completely messed up was great.

I feel like weighing in here because the Hulk really isn't a bad movie. It is well directed, well acted and overall a pretty good film...the problem is that it was marketed as an action film and it slowed down quite a bit in a few scenes...so it wasn't well received for the most part. But this movie took itself seriously enough and I managed to forgive some of the inconsistencies with the comic. The action scenes are mostly great but I have to concede that the finale against his father was just so-so and as much as I loved the way the Hulk himself looked, the special effects were not quite seemless and didn't compel me as much as say the Spiderman movies or X2.
Rating: 8
8 out of 10
I really liked this movie. It was the first comic book movie where they had a really powerful character and they portrayed him as REALLY powerful. The destruction was just a lot of fun. The sequences were also planned well, they made me feel the anger. I remained interested in the story throughout the movie and I thought Nolte was a good villan. I don't understand why everyone knocks this movie, I thought it was really good, particularly given the subject matter.

Not enough Jekyll/Hyde Man/Monster stuff that's at the heart of the character.
I give it a solid 7.5
Admittedly not the best movie ever, but lots of fun action and destruction. It didn't go into Banner's character conflict as much as I would have liked, and what's up with Absorbing Man?
Overall it was good, but not exceptional.

Wow. Um.....bad. Really, really bad.
First off, the Hulk dogs were done poorly. The pace of this film was so bad, even *I* fell asleep watching it. I usually don't get bored with films, as even with a bad film, you can look at how the film was made to enjoy it. This one took far too long to get going, far too long to move anywhere, and while it was cool to see the Hulk tear through the military, no dialogue or any memorable music there weakened the scene horribly.
I didn't get the whole "Ang Lee is an incredible director" even after seeing "Crouching Tiger;" which is a good film, but nothing that hasn't been done prior. And with him being the man who did the motion capture, there were times the Hulk really did appear to be a small framed asian man trying to look strong and menacing.
At best, I would give this film a 2.0; but it doesn't even deserve that. 1.0 out of 10.

Ouch. While Ill agree that the film was disappointing, I certainly wouldnt say its the worst piece of garbage Ever put on film, with absolutely nothing of worth to it whatsoever (which is basically what a score of 1 is)

I liked the movie, but it was really more of the Hulk fan in me. But seriously, this movie was terrible. It's not nearly as bad as Elektra, but its bad.
I'll give it a 3.0

some people giving a 8 is also ridicilous... IMHO.
seeing the Hulk smash some tanks was the only good thing about this movie.
the old TV-serie did a better job of showing a frustrated Banner.

Thou forgets your own point system. If I really wanted to be mean, I could of given it a .25 and still actually scored it.

Hmmm. Well, when you put it that way.
Yeah, still 1. Hulk totally sucked compared to what it could of been with some real thought behind it.

Well, keep in mind a 1 Rating doesnt just say it sucked compared to what it could have been, it says it sucked compared to a heaping pile of dung covered in urine. When you give something a 1 its saying you feel its the worst film youve ever seen, with absolutely nothing good about it whatsoever.

Really bad... Between the fight with the dogs and the ridiculous cut to make the movie look like a comics board, I dunno what was worse... I'd give it a 2 just because of Hulk's crashing tanks...

Ok. You point? I still think it sucked beyond compare. Hell, the cheesy Captain America movie was better than this!

Some good and some bad. Casting is good. Special effects for the most part were hit and miss with CGI- but overall enjoyed the movie. Would have liked to see more between Banner/Hulk Persona issues as compared to the Father/Son confrontation. Interesting that not 1 Hulk villain was used. Score a 6.5
I'll give this one a 7.5/10. I had heard such horrible things about it that I had expected a horrible movie. However, when i saw it, I was pleasently supprised for it was much better then it had been made out to be.

there are 30 interesting minutes in the middle but hollywood please don't change things and create new characters just cause.

My rating, and then my rant: 6.0/10
This is a film that doesn't even work as a metaphor for itself. The acting, directing and special effects were all fine...but there was ultimately nothing interesting about this story.
Stan Lee created the Hulk and told stories about the dangers of science, and the conflict between rage and reason.
Bill Bixby and company took the Hulk and used the character to tell stories about isolation and injustice.
Peter David took the Hulk and explained him as a damaged psyche that could never be fixed.
Ang Lee took the Hulk and made a story about some guy with mutant dogs....of all the possible directions to go, Lee opted for a *hint* of some of Peter David with a really watered down Hulk vs. US Army story, culminating in a weirdo Absorbing Man battle....finally closing the film with a nod to Bill Bixby. This film was just a waste of talent, and a waste of my time.

The idea was good, but you don't base a comic book movie of of a 1970's television show.
The CGI at the end wasn't enjoyable - hard to watch.

Actually . . . after a second viewing (to compare to the new Incredible Hulk), I actually like this movie a bit more. The shots of nature make it seem like the Hulk is a natural being and not some scifi monster (and also correlate to the whole nature vs. nurture for Banner - did his father do something to him on purpose from the start to damage his psyche, or was Bruce destined to become the Hulk).
Really, the lines "Puny Human" and "When I feel the rage taking over . . . losing control . . . I like it" are just superb. If they just added a, "HULK SMASH" when he's fighting the army or his father it would have been awesome.
And why is everyone knocking Hulk Poodles and the comic-booky wipes and split screens? I thought the style made it more dynamic and showed you why this is a film based off a comic book and not a novel or tv show. While Hulk Poodle's were kinda eh, it provided an action sequence early on.
Though I will admit, Incredible Hulk had more action (despite having the same amount of "Hulk-Out" scenes . . .)
If only we could get a merging of both films: Ang Lee's psychological bits with Incredible Hulk's more combative action sequences with an Abomination. Why did Nolte have to become Absorbing Man? Why not become an Abomination . . . damn starfish.
Anyway, I'm changing my vote to 7.8 out of ten. It's missing some great stuff, but it also has some great stuff. I thought the pacing was just fine and the climax with the father was necessary, but the CGI just got out of hand (a black bubble . . . the hell?)

I actually liked the comic panels, it was a cool addition to the film.
Another movie I saw on opening night. Hulk being my favorite character, I really enjoyed this movie. Aside from the 'Absorbing Dad' LOL, and the fact that Hulk grew to like 18 feet, I really liked all the rest of this movie.
'You know what scares me the most? Is that, when it happens, when it comes over me, and I totally lose control.....I like it'
I still get chills from that line (got them just typing it in fact)
Solid 8.5/10
Oh, and the tank throw/destruction scene in the desert = pure awesome.
