I know when I in, I drop all my players and pick up brpthers for fun. Like the Giles. The Youngs. The Uptons. etc etc. Its my victory lap!

That's fine if you're dropping players that virtually no one will want, but when you start dropping All-Stars or above average players is when it's uncool.
Do you see how that can totally skewer the results of the playoffs or championship? Like right now, if I were to make it to the finals, either of the two teams I could face have a higher waiver priority than me, so they can grab those great players for the championship and I'm still stuck with what I've been playing with. I'd totally understand if one of those guys was in my position as well. And the thing is, who's to stop any of us from picking them up?:ermm:

Actually, I have already written those players down on a notepad to make sure I dont pick any of them up. If I am going to make moves, it is going to be for the other guys that have been FA's all year. All of his team is still his team as far as I am concerned. If the other players get them, thats on them.

I wont be that guy....

Not that it will matter with me since I'm about to lose, but I won't be picking any of them up either.

I guess we aren't going with the keeper format for next year then?

as commish in another league last year, one of the players dropped all his players in tha championship weeks of the season since he wasn't playing anymore. I felt it was in the best intetest of the league to put the players back on his team and lock it so he could make no further moves. The championship should be decided by the teams and the players they have had all/most of the year, and the waiver wire gems they have picked up.

It it completely lame to drop your team at anytime IMO

No, we'll reset next year. This season was a fiasco, and I'll do better next time.

(Good Lord, I've been doing a lot of apologizing in recent weeks. Sorry about that. GAH! Did it again! sor.....erm. Nevermind.)

Sounds good. I put them on Waivers just in case there was a slim chance of nabbing one of them after you guys went after them, because I didn't want to be at any more of a disadvantage. I will definitely go remove them right now. Thanks!:)

Well, my ### is kicked.

SDMF decided to pick up all of the guns from the Losers team. Now, Carlos Lee, Texiera, Tim Hudson, Brandon Webb, etc. will finish me off today.

Good to see sportsmanship run wild.

Great season folks, I had a pretty good time. I hate to see it end this way, but I will be around for the next season.

That's the lamest thing I've ever seen. What a loser. Like Bonds, there will be a huge asterisk if he ends up winning this league...

Who's team is SDMF anyways?

Gacy's Clown

I think the only thing that can be done at this point is for him to either drop those players, or the commish remove them for him, or just flatout lock his team and bench those players.:ermm:

I'm sorry, but I really didn't know that I was breaking some kind of unwritten rule. I saw that the players were available, so I picked them up. I really didn't think it would be that big of a deal. I really figured that everyone would be scrambling to pick up the extra players. That's why I put out so many waivers out. I really thought I'd only be able to pick up one or two of the guys I put waivers on since I was low on the waiver order.

I just want to point out that the reason I gained so many points today is that Verlander and Westbrook both got wins today, and netted me fifty-three points. The guys I picked up from the Losers have netted me all of six points for the week. Granted, if I won because of the points that they gave me, then I'd understand why you're upset. But the long and short of it is that I'm winning that week by over forty points, and the guys from the Loser's team that I picked up have given me all of six points. So, you really can't say that I beat you by picking up those guys. I guess what I'm trying to say is: I really didn't gain an edge this week from those players.

Front, can you change my team back to what it was? Also, you make the change retroactive for today? That I wouldn't gain anything from the moves. I would just pick up the guys that I dropped, but the waivers wouldn't go through until Wednesday. The moves I would need are:

Drop
Mark Teixeira
Brian Roberts
Carlos Lee
Tim Hudson
Brandon Webb

Add
Kevin Millar
Aaron Hill
Andre Either
Joe Saunders
Kenny Rodgers

I'm sorry, guys.

I agree. I already PM'ed Front to change me roster back where it was. If he doesn't have a chance to change my roster, then I'll bench all of players I picked from the Losers.

I also wanted to apologize for the infraction. I never meant to cause this much of a problem. As a sign of good faith, I went ahead and benched Carlos Lee for tonights game. I have benched the rest of the guys for the rest of the week, too.

I wish I had checked this thread on Friday when everyone was talking about just how lame it was for the Losers to drop his entire team.. Then, I would have known just how big of deal it is, and I would have canceled all waivers. As it stands I really had no idea that it would have been a problem to pick up the extra players.

I am sorry, guys. :nervous:

Sorry about that! I hate that I knocked you out only to get bounced myself. I know I like to see the person that knocked me out win the whole thing to reduce the sting of it:) .

My bats were amazing yesterday, along with solid enough pitching. Today, however, no shot!!!!!! They failed me at the worst time. Unfortunately, that is the way my season went. Score 200 one week, score over 400 the next.

Streaky, streaky, streaky!!!

Look forward to next season though, for sure!

Thanks, Front. If you need additional help next year, please dont hesitate to ask. I work online, so I can take the time to update as necessary as you would like.

Gacy and Charaxes, good luck in the final week! Hopefully your playoff bound starters dont see too much rest heading into the final week!

I realized it was his entire team, but I still didn't think anything of it until today when I realized that no one else added anyone. So, I came on here today to see what was up, and saw that everyone chasing after me with their torches and pitchforks out.

To be honest, I was so disappointed in myself, I was almost in tears. I mean, I had such a good year in this league (I was in either first or second almost the entire season), and I really was disappointed to see it end with me being "that guy".

I'll tell you what, this has been a very bad week for me. Both on and off the diamond... :(

I think you are being harder on yourself than you have to be. Nobody was chasing with pitchforks at all. In fact, I dont think anyone was terribly rude about it, at least not in my opinion.

I went in with the lead this morning, and watched it fade away to nothingness quickly. I had just figured that if it were to come down to a nailbiter, that I was toast with the new guys you had added. After watching Harang go from pitching a gem to failing utterly in one inning, I wrote my season off and came over to congratulate you and Gacy on fine wins, and wish you luck heading into the next week.

It is a decent thing to do to drop the added guys, but I wouldnt have been offended one way or another. My skin is a lot thicker than that. I am, however, not foolish enough not to know when my butt is kicked, either:) ! That was why the first statement was that my ### was kicked, good sportsmanship or not;) !

It'll be sore for a day or two, but i'll live!:disappoin

It seems to be fixed and in the process of being rode off into the sunset. I sincerely hope you two have a great week of baseball!

I know that I take things too seriously, and that I worry too much about what people think about me, but it really seemed like you were claiming that my picking up extra players from Loser's team is what allowed me to beat you. Not only that, you seemed to claim that I single-handedly killed good sportsmanship, and that I ruined the league for you. I know that's just me reading too much into the comments, but that is how I read your previous post. To be honest, though, the only post that I found excessive was Gacy's. I mean, calling me a loser and that it was "the lamest thing that he had ever seen." Not to mention the fact that in that post, Gacy compared me to Barry Bonds! Talk about the ultimate insult! ;)

Yeah, I was kinda harsh there, but I think it's because I was dealing with cheaters in a football league all weekend. My apologies. I was telling my friend today that I thought the team was yours and you definitely didn't seem like someone who would do that. It's great to see I was right. Don't take that stuff I said seriously and good luck this week!:)

Yeah, I'd definately like to play again. I didn't do too bad for someone who didn't have any clue what they were doing (at first, at any rate) and I think changing the pitching scoring will bring more emphasis onto the bats.

Okay, my team is pretty much back to normal. Of couple of guys who were on my team were picked up by other teams, so I have no shot at getting them back.

And for as much carp I was given for picking up players from the Loser's team, I couldn't help but notice that I wasn't the only one to do so.

I am so over this.

Wow, you are dumb on a legendary level.....

Everyone else's games dont matter. When you dropped your guys, there were four teams left in contention. It mattered about others picking your guys up for the people left that had something to play for. If you noticed, the only people talking about it at all were the people left.

Now there are two left, everone else is playing for the hell of it. Even most of those people arent even paying attention any longer.

Now that I have explained it, maybe you can give your caps lock a breather.

Yeah, I'm sure it was wasn't intentional, so that's why I didn't name names of who did it. Even if I did email them, and they dropped the players again, I still wouldn't be able to pick them back up until Saturday. Really no use to me then. I double checked and Aaron Hill was the only person I couldn't resign. And I think that Yunel Escobar is a suitable replacement. No worries.

Is there anything more frustrating than non-active teams?
If you are not going to stick out the season, don't waste the others time by signing up. I hope somebody takes not of who the non active teams are and make sure they are not included next year. There are lots of other peeps who would like a chance to play.

Oh trust me, BK. I'm keeping track of who participated and who didn't. The league I run next year will be smaller and will not include those who did nothing all season.

(I'll be honest, after the first week of the playoffs, I did not make roster moves myself, as by then, I wasn't "advancing" as it were. But up until then? Yeah, I wanted to win.)

But those who started then did nothing or little/next to nothing? No, we don't need them.

Ok,

Time to see who wants in for this years league. I want enough lead time to shake out the bugs.

1st and foremost= No DH. I'm going to set it for two "utility" players and leave it at that.

2nd=wins for pitchers will go down from 10 points to 5, with a loss counting as -3 points.

And I'm scaling back this year. First 9 to respond with a team name is in for the next league. PM me your email address, team name, Real name; I'll send out invites.

Any other suggestions?

Maybe starting a new thread?

Done and done.
