I know that this will break DTM's heart to start off like this, but as much as I like the first two Indy's I really don't care much for the third one. The dialogue is the weakest of the three and the story just falls flat for me, I am all for fighting nazis but something about these nazis just seems too over the top and campy. It is still a lot better than a lot of other films, don't get me wrong, I just feel it is weak as an Indy film.
7 out of 10
Break my heart? Im ready to give you a medal for being the ony guy on HCR whos even posted on this thread (sheesh, who would have thought an Indiana Jones movie would make the sounds of crickets chirping going on 2 plus days now)
Anyway, while I more than appreciate your reply and rating here, I very much disagree with your score, personally. I easily consider this to be the 2nd best of the Indy Trilogy (behind Raiders, which is a Perfect 10 Classic in my mind)
Loads of fun, we get to see Sallah and Marcus back, meet Indys father, and get to see Heaps of Dr. Jones' origin and background (why the nickname Indiana, why is he afraid of snakes, why the bullwhip and scar on his chin, what inspired his classic archelologist/action hero attire, etc.) Sure it had the Nazis back again, but during that time period it made a bit of sense for them being the villains (supposedly Hitler really did tear up certain areas to look for religious artifacts).
Very cool story, great to see the gang back together, fantastic John Williams score, and just a great and highly enjoyable action/adventure film. Not as good as the first Classic, but a better film to me than the unnecessarily dark and grim Temple Of Doom (which I of course liked, but not as much as the other two)
If I gave Raiders a 10, and TOD a 8.25, than Ill settle for The Last Crusade as a 9, I think.
I like it better than the first one in fact (not much...). There are all the good things that were already present in the first movie (Nazi villains, powerful religious artefact, and lots of fun ), and adding Sean Connery to the mix was a brilliant idea. Seeing Sallah and Marcus back (as you stated, DTM), was also a great pleasure.
9.25/10.
So not alot of Indy fans on HCR then?
I give it 9.5/10.
Sean Connery and Harrison Ford are a great duo in this film.
huh? I liked this one a lot but there was only one small problem;
It seemed to be more lighthearted than the others. Even though it has one of my favorite quotes from the 3 movies:
"nazis. I hate these guys."
This one seemed to be very similar to the first movie.
I liked it:
9
CURRENT HCR MEMBER RATING:
INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE - 8.75 / 10

Looks like today's the day I get to revisit a whole bunch of statements I made in previous threads. In the Raiders of the Lost Ark thread, I voiced one of the major reservations I had about this movie (that of Marcus being reduced to little more than a clown). Sure, it's got its fun moments, but you get the impression that the players are sort of going through the motions. The truck scene in Raiders ratchets the tension all the way up and keeps it there, and it remains one of the most memorable set-piece action scenes in modern movie history. The tank scene in Last Crusade? Meh. When Indy's hat blows over to him afterwards, it's almost like Lucas and Spielberg are winking at the audience - "Yeah, we all knew how this scene would turn out." I'll give credit where it's due regarding Sean Connery, but I always felt that this movie could have been so much more. It gets a 7.5 from me.

Love this movie. Not as much as Raiders of Lost Ark but near there. I'm in agreement that this film is lighthearted and rather campy but it was still fun. Sean Connery nearly stole the whole show from Harrison Ford (no easy task). Right on about Sallah and Marcus Brody, love that those guys are back. Plus, this movie has my most favorite line in the trilogy:
" No Ticket"
Gotta love that. A 9/10

Pssst.....Raiders is also a previous RtM movie......just letting you know, just you case you wanna......you know, pay it alittle visit......give her a good score that she deserves.
:)
Seriously, the No Ticket scene was very cool, and copied respectfully by Kevin Smith in Dogma. One of my favorite parts of this one was when theyre down in the catacombs, and they see a picture of the Ark on the walls. Indy tells her what it is, with the John Williams Ark Theme playing for a few seconds, she then asks "Are you sure?", to which he replies "Pretty sure" Great stuff there.
I absolutely love this film, as much as the first for sure. A definite 10/10 for a film that doesn't do anything wrong for me.

I've sadly never seen this movie. It's sitting in my mailbox (along with Downfall) back in the city.
Its really a Great film (not as good as the Classic Original, though better than the decent second part), Highly Recommended for anyone whos into fun action adventure films.
........now give me a sec to abuse my newfound Diamond Donor powers, and Neg Rep you for never having seen this film before. :p

8/10 Its Indiana Jones, this time with his DAD played by Sean Connery. Thats just genius in casting right there. Yeah its not as good as Raiders, but its better than Temple. I never liked Temple as much, it always seemed kinda boring compared to the other two.
