Since the LOSH is almost upon us, we'll be using the Keywords and the new Theme Team concept pretty soon. The Origin Keyword list is already out. I'll try updating this post with more links as soon as Wizkids publishes Keywords for the older sets. Our judges can print out these PDFs for use in our tourneys.:cool::cool:

Themed Teams
When all characters on a force share a single common keyword among the keywords listed on their character cards and the force consists of at least three or more characters and one character for each 100 points (or fraction thereof) in the build total, the force is a themed team.
Themed teams receive multiple benefits:
• Themed teams receive a bonus to the roll to determine who will be the first player equal to the number of characters on the force.
• Themed teams may cancel one target battlefield condition during a game (this choice is made when battlefield conditions are revealed).
• For each three characters on a themed team, a themed team may use
Probability Control once during the game; place an action token on the
character using Probability Control. The token may not be placed on a
character currently taking an action, or a character that already has two
action tokens.

So question,
technically mga origins figs palang may keywords? Does this mean that for initial UHP practice tourneys, these keywords can only be used on ORIGINS figs? tama ba? :classic:
samuraigrifter
06/11/2007, 11:27
Yeah,
But Pat declared that we tentatively won't be using themed teams for the UHP, since Origins is the only set among the UHP-legal expansions with keywords right now.
yes wag muna theme stuff kasi wala pa ung ibang char na list e

Questions lang pala about the theme team benefits:
• Themed teams may cancel one target battlefield condition during a game (this choice is made when battlefield conditions are revealed).
This means that when both players declare BFCs, I can either cancel my opponent's or my own BFC right? And because the wording is "during a game", and there are 3 games in a tourney, I can do this BFC cancellation in all 3 games am I correct? so technically, meron akong OD for the whole tourney? Tama ba?
• For each three characters on a themed team, a themed team may use
Probability Control once during the game; place an action token on the
character using Probability Control. The token may not be placed on a
character currently taking an action, or a character that already has two
action tokens.
Same as above, if I have 6 characters, I have 2 bonus Probability Control for all 3 games in a tourney. Tama ba?

Yeah. That's pretty much it. You're correct on both accounts. I'm not sure why you'd want to cancel your own BFC, though. It's not like you can save it for the next round by cancelling it with the Theme team.

...or better yet, don't play BFCs that will affect your team/strategies too! *ngiti*

Yep. Kaya nga madaya yun theme team. Well at least up to the point na walang BFC un kalaban mo. hahahaha :)

Oo malakas nga, pero finding a keyword wherein all the pieces that have it are solid pieces is another thing. It's a real challenge creating a team that's balanced based on one keyword, unless the keyword is a team name, like Avengers, X-Men, etc.

One of the links listed above is very useful. As of now, Teens, Avengers, Justice Society, LOSH, Scientists and Soldiers seem to form formidable themed teams.

I tried making a Soldiers theme team with Winter Soldier and some Blackhawks. Right now R Falcon is the only flier I think. It kind of lacks mobility. Unfortunately I won't be able to play tonight, so di ko masusubukan ung Scientist theme team na ginawa ko last weekend. But if hindi cancelled ung HSS powers for tonight, I'm telling you, Teen is the keyword of choice for me. Supergirl, Valor, Wiccan, Triplicate Girl, Jakeem. A lot of the other Teen figs are pretty kick### as well.

I almost forgot. Mystical is also strong.
Wiccan, Scarlet, Gargoyle, Shazam, Yondu.
Mutants, Xmen, and brotherhood of mutants would definitely be strong in the sets to come. Andami nila and consdiering full support.
Armor would be a great team right now with a number of guardsman and stingray filling up the requirements for a cheap cost.

well, in rare cases na sa halip na makabuti sayo team mo eh makakasama pa instead because of the opponent's bfc...and it just happened na mas benieficial rin sa team mo if you keep the opponent's bfc kaya ika-cancel mo na lang yung sayo..something like that...
Actually it's not canceling a bfc, it says it allows your characters to ignore a BFC. so in turn pag turn mo ung BFC na ignore mo hinde ka tatablan, pero pag pasok ng turn ng kalaban sila tatablan. Yan ung lumalabas sa forums ng WK na interpretasyon. Kaya IMHO imabalanced tlga un

sorry but it's not ignoring it is cancelling, this is direct from the LOSH rulebook
• Themed teams may cancel one target battlefield condition during a game (this choice is made when battlefield conditions are revealed).
me pt si patrick dyan.. kasi me debate ngaun regarding the theme team ruling.. wait lang i'll go look kung ok na.. ok here it is..
http://forum.wizkidsgames.com/showthread.php?t=165648
no OFFICIAL word yet pero eto yung consensus ng wizkids judge so I guess e2 muna yung ruling for now..
read it well and it will turn up to be really confusing.. choosing to ignore a BFC will remove all it's effects on the theme team player's force..
there are a LOT of cases that ignoring a BFC will not benefit you at all.. but ignoring a BFC is optional..
some examples..
Assemble
your opponent gets the bonus but you don't.
Armor Wars
you get no armor wars bonus..
dami pang iba.. check nyo jan sa link..
me mga BFC's din na magiging kewl(or madaya!!) like exhaustion wherein same 1 push damage ka lng tapos kalaban mo 2 damage! or poor teamwork wherein kw pede pa rin mgcarry and TK pero kalaban nde.. nice..
pero e2 yung pnkabad 3p sa lahat.. ordinary day reverses ALL the effects!!! confusing na b?
here we go..
Theme player plays Assemble and opponent plays ordinary day(OD).. if theme player ignores ordinary day, theme player gets the bonus.. kung ang inignore nmn nya is his OWN bfc Assemble.. then gagana ang ordinary day so ordinary day ang game nyo..
Theme Player plays exhaustion and opponent plays OD.. if theme player ignores OD, he will take 2 PUSH damage and his opponent only takes one!!!
kung exhaustion nmn yung inignore mo.. you'll both play with ordinary day and thus have an ordinary game..
so basically.. playing OD against a theme team will help counter theme team players who look to abuse a BFC to wreck your team like exhaustion, telekinetic strain, poor teamwork..
sobrang gulo pramis! soo if you want to avoid the confusion all together.. houserule nyo na lng na cancel BFC but take note this is FROM wizkids so maybe the ignore thing is actual the sad truth..
Sorry to say but kagabi ko pa po nabasa sa thread sa forums ng WK and it was indeed ruled as ignored
"So take the theme/ignore rules. At this point I would expect of envoys to know that the rule *IS* as certified by WK ignore and not cancel. You can argue that it's not in the documentation, but I've explained why that is and that it'll be corrected as soon as I can get it in there."
si NBperp ang nag rule out nyan (since cya ung temp RA sa heroclix)
tama ka mikey magulo sobra.
Well kng ako ang tatanungin ganito nalang, replace mo ung buong rules regarding BFCs ng theme team with this: imbes na may blank BFC card kang iplaplay, palitan mo nalng ng libreng OD para sa theme team player. Pero the rest like Prob control and initative bonus remains intact, this is to simplify things and not imbalance the game in any way that derives from fun.
simple and clean solution.

apocalypso
07/19/2007, 21:35
Pero puwede parin naman every round un pag-ignore diba?
Either way, it would most oftentimes benefit your army. Poor Teamwork would definitely be played every round. Exhaustion too.
I do think if your opp played a BFC like Extraordinary Day, Crit Strike, or ground zero (and the likes), a theme team player can choose not to cancel these BFC's and gain the benefits of these BFC's.
Bottom line: MADAYA PARIN ANG THEME TEAM. MWAHAHAHAH

Personally I think the "ignoring BFCs" aspect just needs a little practice. It would make BFC selection play an even bigger role in your team building. Let's wait and see what our Judges here have to say about it. Anyway, added a link to that forum in the first post.

Theme Teams - Ignoring BFCs
The LOSH rulebook lays out that a theme team is able to ignore one Battlefield Condition per game. There is some confusion about the place on page 6 where it says "cancel", but the wording on page 9 (where it says "ignore") is correct. (and yes, I realize I just missed my opportunity to update the E&C with this, but I digress).
I am still waiting for official word on how this works specifically with each BFC. I've been working on a list of the BFCs in the restricted environment so that players can be up to speed on this as soon as I could. There are certain things that I am not 100% sure on, and for those points, I've underlined it so you know that I am not at full confidence on those rulings. But some rulings are better than none, right?
With that, here are the restricted BFCs (and before the complaints start, I'll be shooting to get something similar for unrestricted BFCs out soon - maybe this weekend/early next week):
For all descriptions, it is assumed that the BFC was played and that you, as the theme player have chosen to ignore that BFC while your opponent has not.
Alpha Strike
You would not choose an arch enemy team ability, your opponent would.
Armor Wars
When you deal damage, it does not increase by 1 after reduction. When your opponent deals damage to you, it would increase upon reduction.
Assembled
You would never get the +1 to attack while your opponent still can.
Atlantis Rising
For your actions, clear terrain is considered clear terrain, not water. For your opponents actions, clear terrain is considered water. For example, if you had a Submerged feat on someone, your opponent could not draw LOF to him. If he had a Submerged feat on a character, you would be able to see him just fine.
Back Alley Brawl
You do not get +2 bonus for your “powerless” attacks. Your opponent does.
Blood Curse
You don’t roll on your turn, your opponent rolls on their turn.
Communication Breakdown
You can play this BFC and select a combat value, you do not have a modification to Leadership rolls, your combat values are not subject to the modification restriction
Critical Strike
If you roll a critical hit, you cannot use the strike tokens. If your opponent rolls a critical hit, they can
Damage Control
Only 3 objects would be in the game – they would all be placed by you, but can be used by either player. When you are attacking, characters in debris tokens would get +1 DV. At the beginning of the other players turn, all debris and blocking are undestroyed. At the beginning of your turn, debris and blocking terrain are not undestroyed.
Debris
Only 9 objects would be put in play.
Defiance
You do not remove tokens when you roll a critical hit
Exhaustion
You push for only 1 damage, your opponent pushes for 2.
Extraordinary Day
3s and 11s would be normal rolls for you.
Fearless Assault
You do not get +2 to speed values while your opponent does.
Ground Zero
The roll does not get made on my attacks. The roll does get made on your attacks.
Inertial Interference Field
You can attack with the powers listed with no penalty. Knockback damage you generate is not reduced by 1. Knockback damage that you take is reduced by 1
Inferno
This does not happen on your turn.
Isolation
You can replace values regardless as to whether it is higher or lower, your opponent cannot.
Loyalty
Your wild cards would not possess an ability but would use abilities as they normally would. If your opponent were playing Saboteur, it would affect you normally. Your opponent would still be forced to choose one team ability and possess it for their wildcards for the game.
Mistrust
When your opponent attacks, adjacent characters (his or yours) are subject to the penalty. When you attack, no character suffers the penalty.
Ordinary Day
Essentially reverses this entire list
Poor Teamwork
You can carry characters and TK your own figures
Protect the Innoncent
You may not remove bystander tokens – your opponent can.
Proximity Mines
No roll at the end of your turn. At the end of the opponent’s turn, if a 5 or 6 is rolled, your characters are not dealt damage.
Resistance
You still can outwit opposing characters that are adjacent and share a team symbol but your opponent cannot.
Rushed Assault
You would never suffer a -2 penalty. Your opponent would be penalized on their first attack against one of your characters. Your attack would not fulfill the requirement for this BFC to stop.
TK Strain
You can move a character more than 6 squares with no ill effect. Your opponent cannot.
Wasteland
For your actions, all elevated terrain is still elevated and walls are up. Squares adjacent to walls – unless they should be for some other reason – are not hindering terrain On your opponents actions, the BFC still applies.
Ignoring gives a lot of advantages true. But sometimes most often than not will cause confusion and the game might extend a lot more time than it is suppose to, pedeng abusuhin ito IMO
ArthurD2
07/20/2007, 04:52
well ewan ko lang pero it's not that confusing talaga hehe. and yes tama ka pat! pwedeng abusuhin... kung theme team un team mo, and ewan ko lang ha i think WK took in consideration un pts sa keywords system eh, kasi naisip ko in a 300pts game mejo mahirap magfit ng theme team na matino vs a non theme team, lalo na kung combo team un non-theme.
pero well sa kanila un, sa current meta dito na lagi 400 pts above i think madali nga abusuhin ang keywords benefits.
maniladawg
07/20/2007, 07:18
.... pedeng abusuhin ito IMO
hmm. true. but no different from let say kc flash, lamp, protected and others stuff that HAVE been and CAN STILL be abused
the difference is that KC flash other figs and feats is just a figure/piece of the game, pag na crit hit patay pag minamalas patay, pag walang pyesa patay
Theme team bonuses affect the game mechanic as a whole and the abuses that stem from this mechanic seriously derails the game itself. Not to mention it seriuosly takes the fun out of the game itself due to other possible abuses. Kung ang isang pyesa broken or malakas isang pyesa lng un, pag ang game mehcanic mismo ang abuso ibang usapan na un
ArthurD2
07/20/2007, 07:48
well ewan ko sa inyo! hahaha the only possible abuse i can see sa theme bonuses is un BFC and i don't think it takes the fun out of the game, it makes it more challenging. parang ganito lang yan sa tingin ko eh i play PT against my opponents lamp team pero he plays OD, so if that's the case di na ko mageenjoy? ang theme bonuses where made to encourage theme play. basta it always boils down naman sa army build and tactics eh. a good example of a this is charlon vs gatx nun uhp.

Ganito lang kasimple yan guys.
BFC's lang yan.
Walang BFC's before. So parang naglaro lang kayo old school. I do understand that BFC's grant HUGE bonuses but Heroclix was originally played with no advantages on either side given all other things equal (i.e. team build, etc) I had a hard time adjusting to the BFC's pero it is still a dice game. hahaha
ArthurD2
07/20/2007, 08:03
maybe nay-sayers hate the rule kasi di naman sila theme players? but un nga BFC lang nga un pinaka malaki advantage ng keywords eh.
pero d nyo ba nasiep, tama tactics and all that pero sayang naman BFC ok na twist na ung BFC sa laro e. Pero ung abuse stemming from this will really take the game farther away than is is already.
To be able to control the map most of the time, to execute a well timed Prob Control? Then to screw up the BFC in play by taking advantage of it? sheesh ewan ko nalng kung lugi pa theme team sa lagay na un kahit wala na ung BFC bonus malakas na ung Prob at Initative e

The theme team benefits are abusable, just like any other changes that were introduced over the past 5 years of this game, like when feat cards and bfcs were first introduced. And just like broken feat card combos and unfair BFCs, all you have to do is prepare for theme team abuse when building your own team. It's part of the challenge. There are ways around everything, even these theme team bonuses. It only looks abusive now because we're all playing with pseudo-keywords that glen posted for older sets, but once the older sets get OFFICIAL keywords from Wizkids, it might not be that easy. Notice the JLA members and LOSH members. Not all of their keywords match because of JLI, JLE, Extreme Justice, Legion, Legion of Superheroes, etc. It WILL be hard to pull of a theme team that's properly balanced if we used WK-only keywords.
The sign of a good player is one who finds ways around the obstacles put in front of him. This game has been around for 5 years now, change is always to be expected. If the game ran this long without any changes, it will grow stale REALLY fast.
Is this mechanic broken as most of the americans think? Let's wait and see. They only have 2 sets to build from, and like us, are just making keywords of their own. If this does end up broken, WK will errata the sh!t out of it anyway.
Well thing is, it ain't just about playing around it, it's playing it right. WK already made a huge mistake before in creating a mechanic that was so screwed hence the total revamp was made in one major game line. I hope HC does not go that direction.
Uhm. Pwede bang maglaro na lang muna tayo? Parang walang pinatutunguhan yung pagdedebate. Puro kasi speculation. Buti pa let us stick to the facts first. The only thing that is certain is what Mikey said....take note this is FROM wizkids so maybe the ignore thing is actual the sad truth..So there. Rules are rules people. Wag na nating pangunahan yung WK or anything. Trabaho nila na problemahin yung rules. We players, play - well yung Judges enforce the rules. WK sends us prizes, delayed or not, under the assumption that we are abiding by their tournament rules. So let's all relax and enjoy the game! ;)
Well Javey, that's what we are doing sa mga tourney d ba? Discussion lng naman ang meron d2, insights are what we have here, not demands or anything. Kumbaga e debate lng naman..... we still play the game as is :)
Well Javey, that's what we are doing sa mga tourney d ba? WK standard rules? Talaga? Must be reading the wrong tournament announcements. Now if we're talking about the themed bonus, yes we are using it. Like what, 2 tourneys? What I think is it's too early to call if it's borken or not. I can't think of any specific army that will surely dominate the tourney. And if there's none, that's good for the game, right?

ask ko lang..meron bang mga keywords na applicable sa marvel and dc?? like isang keyword meron ang isang fig sa marvel tpos ung isa sa dc??
Most of our tourney do use the same rules, sa points lng naman d nagkakapareho, but my point is, we are not necessarily complaining, we are simply discussing the possible brokenness that this new mechanic might cause, wala pa naman sumisigaw na iban cya or palitan e. I agree laruin muna para makita kung ano ang magiging long term effect niya.

for vision's herald status, read the Ultimate comics.
You only choose 1 keyword as your theme, even if all the figs in your team qualify for 2 keywords. you only get the theme team benefits once.
na-post na ni Andok ito pero i'll post it again for clarity:
From LoSH Rulebook, page 6:
"Themed Teams
When all characters on a force share a single common keyword among the keywords listed on their character cards and the force consists of at least three or more characters and one character for each 100 points (or fraction thereof) in the build total, the force is a themed team. Themed teams receive multiple benefits:
• Themed teams receive a bonus to the roll to determine who will be the first player equal to the number of characters on the force.
• Themed teams may cancel one target battlefield condition during a game (this choice is made when battlefield conditions are revealed).
• For each three characters on a themed team, a themed team may use Probability Control once during the game; place an action token on the character using Probability Control. The token may not be placed on a character currently taking an action, or a character that already has two
action tokens."
and from same rulebook, page 9:
"Step 3:
Reveal Battlefield Conditions
Players who have chosen to include battlefield condition cards in their forces reveal the cards simultaneously. After all battlefield conditions have been revealed, each player playing a themed team may choose to ignore one battlefield condition for the entire duration of the game; once the choice is made it can’t be changed. A player playing a themed team may also choose not to ignore a battlefield condition."
coming from our present Rules Arbitrator, Nberp, the correct word is ignore, not cancel (per post from wizkids forum re: this matter).
So judge javey is correct, we follow the "ignore" effect until an official documentation comes out saying otherwise, or another effect for that matter.

My bad last wednesday tourney. Kala ko puwedeng halo. sorry guys :-s
Mas napafocus dun sa at least 3 characters, 1 fig for every 100 points etc. Nonetheless, malakas parin naman sya.
Balik ko nalang yung molecule man and ray palmer kay cons this wednesday:)

Take note, dapat yung buong force mo e same keyword, hindi pala pwede na half themed ka lang, or dalwang theme team sa isang team. ALL CHARACTERS ON A FORCE SHARE A SINGLE COMMON KEYWORD.
You mean last Wednesday some of you didn't play with a team all sharing the same keyword?

07/22/2007, 11:14
this coming ff factory event:
i'm only allowing keywords from origins & avengers set only, as for the old figs, yung TA lng..
may reklamo??
URUSAI!!!!!
HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Yare Yare GAT, so unbecoming. Tsk Tsk Tsk:ermm:
But suggestion lang, why not just use the keywords for Avengers and Origins for then. I mean it is a factory set afterall, we should stick to the approved list. (Not that i don't mind the approved list, it will just help avoid confusion...unless you wanna hold a whole compilation of the keywords.);)

Yeah, actually nung last saturday to. Kahit ako akala ko pwede 150 points of your team theme, tapos the other half another theme. It made sense last week for some reason, hehe pero di naman ako sumali :)

07/22/2007, 11:19
Kaya pala parang nadalian lang kayo sa format. I had a REALLY hard time constructing teams at home, because sometimes I'd end up with a team not meeting the one character per 100 points of the total build requirement.

BTW, andrewtarius has updated his site:
http://www.ajatech.net/dailyclick/
Eto ung lagi kong ginagamit for stats (ewan ko baket ayaw ko battleplanner), ok yung keywords pdf nya for avengers, kase naka arrange by keywords na (ie naka list yung mga teen) instead of figs then their keywords.
Take note, dapat yung buong force mo e same keyword, hindi pala pwede na half themed ka lang, or dalwang theme team sa isang team. ALL CHARACTERS ON A FORCE SHARE A SINGLE COMMON KEYWORD.
you're right sir. nagkamali din ako sa team build ko. hehehe....kahit nung saturday sa ATC, may mga errors din kami. anyway, that's why we should continue with the implementation. practice lang naman ang kelangan at makukuha din natin sya. at least now, medyo lumilinaw na sa players what to do or how it works.......

Kaya pala parang nadalian lang kayo sa format. I had a REALLY hard time constructing teams at home, because sometimes I'd end up with a team not meeting the one character per 100 points of the total build requirement.
wait wait.. mejo hindi ko gets ito ah.. hehe ibig sabihin ba ng 1 character per 100 pts eh kunwari 400 pt game, dapat 4 characters lang? no more and no less? ganun ba yun?
Hinde harold, kung 400pts ung game dapat may minimum na 4 chars ka of the same keyword
Ulitin natin ha. Themed Teams
When all characters on a force share a single common keyword among the keywords listed on their character cards and the force consists of at least three or more characters and one character for each 100 points (or fraction thereof) in the build total, the force is a themed team.My take on this is that for a themed team to be considered as one it should meet the following prerequisites:
1) All characters share a common keyword
2) The force should consist AT LEAST 3 or more characters (so pwede more than 3)
3) One character for each 100 points (meaning pag 400 dapat 4 yung minimum, and so on and so forth)
It really is confusing haha. But I'm sure we'll get the hang of it. I already saw some strong themed contenders, but no game breakers IMO.
ArthurD2
07/23/2007, 00:39
hmmm well then that makes it less broken as othrs may say it. haha oonga naman dapat nga naman lahat tae napalagpas natin un ah.
Unless I missed something with the LOSH rulebook, there is something not-so-themed with the themed teams (tongue twister talaga, pwede bang initials na lang?) pa rin. Pwede pa rin ata dupes. So three Thunderstrikes may be considered a themed team? Haha. Well it is difficult kasi meron namang Blackhawks na pwede talaga dupes.
samuraigrifter
07/23/2007, 01:15
That's because we still have the rule where only Uniques are the only true highlander-type figs. These are still REVs, so they can still be dupes and considered theme.
dupes won't be a problem with us because we enforce highlander rules as a houserule.. so no dupes tlga unless generics, multiple man, or triplicate girl.. heheheh..

I tried making a 400 point Scientist theme team for last Wednesday's tourney. And hirap nga, I could fit just 4 characters. Sakto lang talaga. If I went with the cheaper characters, the team would lack firepower.
Since wala pa kac keywords yung ibang characters kaya medyo challenging.

In any case some thoughts on the Keyword to Character Placement:
022 Dr. Mid-Nite Scientist
JSA will have to settle for the Exp, but Scientists get a shot in the arm from the Doc in all his REVs!
025 Green Flame Global Guardians, Spy
Everyone's favorite cheap taxi is relegated to limited Theme teams
041 Elongated Man Detective, Justice League of America, Justice League Europe
Will see more use with those keywords
046 Black Lightning Metropolis
He did start out in Suicide Slum... Supes' teams just got a cheap tertiary attacker
067 Superman Blue JLA, Metropolis, Reporter
068 Superman Red JLA, Metropolis
069 Superman JLA
Speaking of which, he's JLA all the way!
070 Red Tornado Justice League of America, Robot
Expected, but now the cheapest TK in the Restricted environment will shine best on JLA themes.
079 Mary Marvel Fawcett City
080 Mary Marvel Fawcett City
081 Mary Marvel Fawcett City, Super Buddies
Not everything is rosy... No Mystical Keyword?? Shame!
222 The Man of Steel Gotham City, JLA, Justice League, Metropolis
Seems like they switched the Bat-Team Superman with Man of Steel but Damn! Gotham Knights and JLA/Justice League Teams just got the boost they needed!
Over in the Marvel side:
015 Echo Avengers, Martial Artist
As it should be!
013 Paste Pot Pete Frightful Four, Scientist
014 Trapster Frightful Four, Scientist
015 Trapster Frightful Four, Scientist
He's a scientist! I dunno whether this is good or bad...
017 Mockingbird (different paint) Avengers, West Coast Avengers
yep, she'll see a lot of play
032 Techno Masters of Evil, Robot, Scientist, Thunderbolts
that's a lot of keywords, he'll see more play than before
058 Spider-Man Reporter, Teen
Reporter and Teen Teams, Spidey wanna play!
073 Daredevil Martial Artist
074 Daredevil Martial Artist
075 Daredevil Martial Artist
Again, as it should be
090 Wolverine Avengers, Mutant, X-Men
No he doesn't have the "A" symbol, but he's gonna play where he wants to!
028 Marvel Boy Mutant, New Warriors, Teen
Vance is gonna be in a lot of Mutant and Teen teams as the resident TK piece
046 Kang Future, Scientist, Warrior
047 Kang Future, Past, Scientist, Soldier, Warrior
048 Kang the Conqueror Future, Past, Ruler, Scientist, Soldier
He fits in so many themes it's not funny!
082 Thor Avengers, Deity
083 Thor Deity, Thor Corps, Warrior
084 Thor Avengers, Deity, Warrior
Uh... no Asgardian keyword???
055 She-Hulk Avengers, Brute
Brute teams will make happy with Sexy Jenny...
213 King Hyperion Brute, Ruler
...and they get a King, too!
It will be interesting to see how this holds up particularly with so Many Justice League iterations ( I say Justice League, Justice League of America, Justice League International and plain ol' JLA should be the same) but we'll see...

Well, it's actually more comic accurate this way. For example, Superman isn't electric Blue or Red while he's in the current Justice League of America roster with Red Tornado (Meltzer's Run). BUT, he was Electric Blue or Red when he was part of Morrisson's big 7 (when the book was called JLA). They cleverly used the difference in Justice League titles to imply WHEN in the history of the league were they together. Just because you put together Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman on the same team, it doesn't mean the Justice League theme is entirely accurate.
Another example is Green Lantern. Hal Jordan would have Justice League, or Justice League of America, but NOT JLA, because in the JLA, it was Kyle Rayner who was the Green Lantern on the team. Hal was dead at the time.

With the new keywords, expect people to use soldiers a lot. For one, the figs that have the soldier keyword are pretty much straightforward, allowing easy use. Second, there are now more fliers in the form of hive soldiers. Ang tanong, sino ang naghhorde nitong mga to. hahaha
Expect future/teens to become one of the strongest keywords once LoSH comes out here in the Phil. Andaya eh. hahaha
Mystical is probably one of the more "complete" keywords in the sense that you can get a number of powers not present in other keywords (prob, outwit, perplex and TK. did i just say Tk?)
Mystical is probably one of the more "complete" keywords in the sense that you can get a number of powers not present in other keywords (prob, outwit, perplex and TK. did i just say Tk?)Meron ding isa kumpleto sa powers. which version of the Justice League IS just called Justice League?? I know the JLA version was the Morrison run. Yung Justice League of America IS the current AND old school name. Of course you still have Task Force, Europe, International and Antartica version of the Justice League.

don't forget GHOST WIDOW sa spies... generic keywords are definitely the more powerful keywords and somehow it defeats the purpose of giving some comic accurate teams a boost. especially since some teams ndi tlga buo unless isama mo mga retired figs..(exiles!:ermm: )
samuraigrifter
08/09/2007, 01:05
Its only natural that some of the teams won't get a boost since some of the key members are retired, but that's just in the tourney scene. This is especially true for teams with small rosters, such as mikey's aforementioned exiles. There are still A LOT of teams that can be constructed to be both comic-accurate and competitive, we just haven't sifted through all the keywords yet.

Cons, sorry ha small request lang. If it's not too much trouble, patanggal ng quote mo kay Dr. Hell. Haha humaba yung thread. Pero yes you're right. His post really is helpful. Mas madali ang theme team building. Bigyan kita ng printout niyan since you're the judge. ;)

Hmm, ayaw mo pala sa "mahaba" .hahahah. Ok, masusunod Judge...
O happy ka na? hehehe
Hmm, sensitive ka pala sa mahaba :p . Ok, masusunod Judge.Haha oo eh. Ayoko talaga ng mahaba. Kaya nga friend kita eh. May nakapagsabi na maikli ka raw. Bwahaha.
Saka alam ko naman na madali kang kausap di katulad dati may nagpopost ng pagkahabahaba. Well mahirap naman icompare kasi yung post mo may sense yung post na tinutukoy ko, WALA!
Naabutan mo ba yan?
