To be fair, even if you could sign in, most of the guys on your team have had subpar seasons so far (Lee Evans, Bulger, Bush, Julius Jones, Brandon Jacobs, even Tomlinson to an extent). I'm sure you could have picked up some help on the waiver wire but not THAT much help.

Can't you ask the Commish to make some moves for you?

Man, I got blown out this week. Westbrook sitting kinda took some of the wind out of my sails. Not that it would have mattered much against that Giants D on Sunday night. Holy ####!

And I appreciated that!

Now, looking at the team I drafted...

Deuce - out for the year
Cadillac - out for the year
Travis Henry - waiting for the courts to finish with everything so that he can be suspended for a year for violating the drug policy.

Sigh. So much for the depth that I thought that I had.

T.O. Two touches and 110 yards.

Witten 56 Yards and a touch.

Lynch 112 yards rushing, 1 TD, 40 yards Rec.

If I can get this...I can pull it out. Realistic...well, I think mostly, 'cept for the 112 out of Lynch against this D, but we'll see.

Oh, my! What a strange football game!

I kept telling my friend it wasn't over just before the Cowboys got their ball back for their last drive, but then after they scored, I told him that they wouldn't make the 2 point convert. At that point, I thought they had lost the game. I didn't think they would get the onside kick.

But what an onside kick it was! Great play to knock the ball forward like that. Saved a lot of time to recover it on the Buffalo 47.

And I am so happy to see that timeout just before the field goal snap thing finally not work. I think it is a cheap, cheesy play.

Right now, these look to be the final scores for Division 2:

(I say it looks to be the final scores because it seems that they sometimes change by a point or two overnight.)

(Well, I checked again now, and Front and I were listed at 2 extra points, and Gacy had 1 extra. I've added in those changes.)

Week 5 scores:

Ninja Crimewave (3-1) 75.0
Minimal Malfunction (1-3) 60.9

Gotham City Ghost Dragons (2-2) 88.9
MircaleS (2-2) 86.0

La Crosse Catbirds (1-3) 86.2

Voltron Force (2-2) 68.0
The Chicago Hitmen (0-4) 84.3

FANTASY HELP!
So Lamont Jordan(in my flew spot) is not starting this week. I am going to hold on to him the problem is, who do I put in for him.

- Santanna Moss, Probable and going against the Green Bay D.
- Greg Jennings, Probable

Or do I pick up one of the following from free agency?
-Derrick Mason
-Bobby Engram
-Dennis Northcut
-Justin Fargas
-Michael Turner
-Earnest Graham

Gacy's Clown
10/12/2007, 21:11
Personally, I'd go with either Jennings or pick up Graham. With Cadillac out for the season and Pittman injured now, Graham may get the bulk of the carries now.:)

absolutvt69
10/13/2007, 00:34
Yep Graham wins by default. He might not be great but he's a starting running back and that's worth something in fantasy. Speaking of which I was looking through the free agents in one of my other leagues and Maurice Jones Drew was there. Now I realize he hasn't put up big numbers yet this season but he definitely deserves to be on a roster even if he's not in the lineup.. so I snatched him up.

bagman04
10/14/2007, 00:37

When it came up to my draft pick, Adrian was open (it's a 16 team league). I considered getting him, but I ruled against it. I figured with that offensive line, being a rookie, and getting hurt so often that he wouldn't be very good.

Wow, was that a mistake. I'm about ready to name him Rookie of the Year. He is just plain rediculous.

The only thing I have that you'd probably want is Portis, but he's pretty much my entire running game.

Edit: Here's a list of who I have.

Clinton Portis
Warrick Dunn
Jamal Lewis
Ahman Green
Greg Jennings
Larry Fitzgerald
Santonio Holmes
Jason Witten (I would have to be ######## to trade him away)
Vernon Davis
Matt Stover (my only kicker)
Green Bay DST
Oakland DST (which I need this weekend)

Is this a fair offer, I offered in my league, Torry Holt and Jerious Norwood(or Earnest Graham) for Adrien Peterson. They have for WRs Boldin (on DL), Harrison and Galloway. The person would be getting a top tier WR and a starting running back.

Iceman425
10/17/2007, 04:41
Torry Holt is not top tier this year, sorry man. He is in the bottom 3rd of starting receivers this year. No Orlando Pace, starting two rookie lineman, no Steven Jackson, and a receiver was playing QB for the Rams last week after Gus Frerotte went out.

Jerious is a one hit wonder and, unless you award return yards in your league, is not worth it.

That man would have to be terrible to accept your trade.

That pretty much sums up my opinion as well, although I might not quite go so far to say that Holt is in the bottom 3rd of starting receivers... Maybe the bottom 3rd of number one receivers. He still does get a good percentage of whatever yards the Rams offense manages to pick up.

But there is no way I'd take those players for Peterson, if I had him.

Iceman425
10/17/2007, 21:15

Not only that, but he is a starting running back (who is a fairly good Running Back) on a team that needs to run the ball to stay competetive.

Any game against Brady is gonna be a long week, just as I found out...especially if he was Welker or Moss to go with him:cheeky:

Great ###-whooping this week!:)

Tell me about it... in one league I scored 129 points and I'm going to end up losing because my opponent had Brady and Welker.

Will post scores in a minute...

So far this year I've lost Deuce, and Cadillac for the season. I guess I can add Ronnie Brown to that, and if Travis Henry does get suspended, that will be another RB to bite the dust. Ugh.

Week 7 scores in progress:

Minimal Malfunction (1-5) 92.4
Gotham City Ghost Dragons (4-2) 106.1

The Chicago Hitmen (2-4) 53.9
La Crosse Catbirds (2-4) 78.9

Again (5-1) 127.1
Ninja Crimewave (4-2) 88.9

MircaleS (3-3) 87.4
Voltron Force (2-4) 57.0

Since this is the second week in a row that Voltron Force has fielded a team with three players on bye, I'm assuming that they're not playing anymore... Wouldn't it be nice to be in a league where everyone stayed playing, at least to the point of arranging their rosters to cover their byes.

armac's axewielders (5-1) 75.7
Rage Nation Soldiers (2-4) 77.3

Sad to hear about Ronnie Brown. He'd struggled quite a bit in his first couple seasons and it seems like the light had finally come on for him and then he gets hurt. Yeah it sucks from a fantasy perspective if you have the guy but it sucks even more for him, his family and his teammates. You hate to see anyone go out w/ season ending injury like that, and on a tackle following an interception no less.

Oddly enough, I missed this Brown injury. What happened to him?

Torn ACL while trying to make a tackle following an interception during Miami's "game" (and I use the phrase loosely) against New England. He'll be out the rest of this year and could possibly miss some training camp next year.

Should I go for it or not?

spiderman9797
10/28/2007, 18:40
Wow.

Umm, just wow.

Drew is the better Quarterback while Dallas is doing better right now (I think if you put Kellen on the Colts team, he would do better than Dallas Clark).

I would probably do it considering that Drew is getting hot, and Kellen is ALWAYS consistently getting fantasy points. Drew and Kellen will together contribute more than Eli and Dallas.

And now ladies and germs, its time for, Who Did you Bench That Did Really Good This Week?

For me I chose at the last minute NOT to switch Earnest Graham out for Lee Evans on my flex spot. I need the Awesome Brett Favre to net me 31 points to win this week.

He ended up rejecting my offer. Oddly enough, I traded him at the beginning of the season Warrick Dunn for Clark.

I would imagine he would reject your trade after yesterday's games. Eli did next to nothing in the rain in London while Brees looked like he did last year. The TEs are basically a wash so it comes down to which QB is more valuable and based on yesterday that's going to be Brees.

spiderman9797

I'm torn.

I have to choose 2 out of these 3 running backs to start:

Reggie Bush
Marion Barber
Priest Holmes

I have no clue who I want to start.

Reggie is going up against the Rams, which is a great matchup for him.

Marion is going up against the Giants, which isn't so good because of the Giants' front four, but he IS their goal-line go-to-guy.

And Priest is going up against the HORRIBLE Denver run defense, although I'm skeptical about starting an unproven come-back player.

Reggie is basically in it, because of his recent fantasy outbreak (averaging 14 points a game for me since week 3) and the fact that the Rams are just plain terrible.

But I'm not sure if I should start Priest Holmes or Marion Barber.

mike_houghton
11/07/2007, 17:38

His first game was last week, right after Larry Johnson got hurt and KC was behind in the 4th quarter. He didn't get much opportunity at all.

Plus, it's the freaking Denver run defense.

mike_houghton
11/07/2007, 17:50

The Denver Run defense? They are last in the league, right now, averaging an allowed 161.5 rushing yards a game. Plus, their secondary is great so it's not easy to throw on them at all.

I edited the results page where I had you losing to the Catbirds even though you scored 122 points to their 102.

When I posted the new schedule, I went by the standings that I updated, and then counted to make sure I had the right amount of teams at the right record. I didn't double check to see if the teams matched.

Oh well, only a few more weeks to worry about it. ;)

To be honest, I'm not sure anything is going to get you Moss right now. He's scorchingly hot and you're not going to be able to offer any player of equal value. I know if I had him there's pretty much no deal I'd make for him. That's just my opinion of course.

Well, I lost my fantasy playoff game, and lost three games of my lead in the football pool that I'm in, so I'm now down to a one game lead in it, but I'm very happy.

Thank you San Diego for coming back and winning against the Titans. It really helps the Browns playoff chances.

Go Browns!

Travis Henry, YOU SUCK!!! GRRR I kne wI should have put Brandon Jacobs from flex into one of my starting backs and put lee evans or deion branch in the flex spot. But I was thinking, hey TH should get at least one TD if not some good yards against carppy houston defense. I also picked denver to win this week in survivor football. I hate the broncos a little bit more now. An dif your a broncos fan, then I am sorry your a broncos fan.

I was in LA then NYC this week and friggan forgot to set my line-up!!!

If I lose I guarantee it will be because I didn't take Jacksonville out of my D and Roddy White out of the line-up. I'm hoping last weeks team holds up, but against JacinB's squad I don't think it will.

I need huge days from Witten and Owens against Philly.

In the same vein, I think that the season was pretty for me considering I started 0-4.

First off, I can't believe that the week I bench Lovie Smith the Bears have their best outing.

And second, I can't believe that Brett Favre would wet the bed due to the cold.

Hats off to the Hippos for making it close, but DAMN!!!! I should of lost that game when I benched Burelson/Lovie Smith.

Payton Manning versus Tom Brady for all the marbles. Tom has a season best record in site.

This is gonna be fun, gang.

With one game left to decide it all.

Current points in the Championship

Sweet Science: 109
Chicago Hitmen: 109

With only the Colts head Coach to decide it (sans a ESPN score adjustment.)

The Colts stand between the Titans and the playoffs. The Colts have no reason to play their starters deep into the game.

So, our championship might be determined by the arm of Jim Sorgi?

Good GAWD! What a day of some neat football.

I think you mean the Ninjas league. The ESPN Mutant league was won by Matt Mossman (Beat me by one freakin' point. And it was the "home field advantage" point. Grr.)

Peterson will have 1000 yards this year

You are smoking crack. I am a Peterson Mark and there is no way he will get even close to 1000.

Point 1: The Vikings have no passing game and a Rookie (Basically) QB helming the ship - STACK UP FOR THE RUN!!!
Point 2: Chester Taylor has a good shot at still anchoring the run game this year due to a good year last year and the fact that Peterson is a rookie coming off an injury season.
Point 3: Peterson is a rookie with half of an O line. The other half is awful.
Point 4: Peterson will get no more than 15 carries per game due to the split time.

I would say that peterson will end up with 650 3 TDs and a very hurty body.

Well, I atleast got one prediction right. I always like looking over old drafts and threads like this. Fun to reflect on the past season.

Since I'm a Packers fan, and since this will probably be Favre's last season, I have to do this:

6th round pick Brett Favre, QB, Green Bay Packers.

Turned out to be a brilliant pick.

DocDoom187
07/13/2008, 13:20
Better than Andre Johnson. And Brady spread the ball waaaay too much for me to pick Moss. Also, Moss is an old fart.

Personally, I'd start Romo and have Kitna as back up, but that's just me.

And Ice man, kickers do go last alot, but some people like to have a awesome everything before building on the bench. You know what I mean?

Yay! That's something i got right. lol

DocDoom187

I don't think it's arrogant when people give advice that's asked for.

Thomas Jones also has the same bye week as Maroney.

For the backs, Jamal Lewis, Adrian Peterson, and Marion Barber III are the top ones I can pick.
This year, all three are top tier RB's taken within the first 3 rounds.

I'm taking my pick for Rookie of the Year...

Marshawn Lynch.

May be a reach, but I really have a gut feeling about this kid.

You had to settle for second behind AP. Oh well. :p

Iceman425
07/13/2008, 19:38
Hey, Marshawn was a great pick, I coulda gone AP, but I thought Lynch was a better candidate to carry the load.
