I found this hilarious... The Steelers unveiled their new mascot and his name is....

Steely McBeam

That sounds like something someone made up on the spot. Steely McBeam!

I'm so embarrassed by this name...

Head Office says its for the kids, but that name is carpy! Steely McBeam?!? I was at least hoping it would have been a tougher sounding moniker. (My submitions were Joe Tuff and Steel City Sam) He'll probably go the way of the past "Steelers Mascots" which now reside in the cement of the foundation of Heinz Field!

Well. Its also because the Cowboys have Star QB Romo, the Monster of a back, Julius Jones, and Barber who's great at getting touchdowns and first downs. And then don't forget their wide out, TO. Sure he may be old, but he's still a monster. The Cowboys are well rounded in everything except defense, but they have an adequate enough defense to carry them.


I'd say they have a shot at the Super Bowl.

Yeah, but the Patriots/Colts/whatever AFC team will punk them. Besides, hasn't TO yet to show that he can actually CATCH reliably while in Dallas?

Coaching is a huge part of the NFL, particularly since the salary cap has made most teams relatively equal in terms of talent (now, whether or not they exercise that talent pool effectively is another story. See Detroit for an example). I have no doubt Dallas can be a wild card because... hey, it's the NFC. However, they are not going to be world champs. :)
