Cole Hamel's is on the DL, and the manger refuses to make Myers a starter again, so your new ace is officially Kyle Kendrick. HAHA
Better hope hes a more consistent rookie than Lincecum or Gallardo.

Well, there's still hope for the Phillies, as Utley should be back here pretty soon.

That's true. But it will take him a while to get swing back, and get back into a groove.

The possibly worst part for the Phils, is that everytime I hear "elbow trouble", I always think Tommy John surgery. Granted, all reports are that it's just sore and he needs a rest, but you never know.
I hope it's nothing major. He's one of the most exciting young players in the game today and losing him for a year and a half would just suck.

How 'bout Chase Utley in his return??!! Three for five with a double and a homer with three runs driven in. Now that's the way to make a come back..

Phils, what happened yesterday??!! Blowing a six run lead in two innings... none of the hits were hit hard. Were they playing with only eight in the field or something? The Phils were my phavorites (see what I did there...) to win the NL Wild Card, but after this heartbreaker, I'd say that they have about as much chance as the Brewers do of making the playoffs.

As Entropy stated, the Phils took the lead in the NL East last night. The same night the Red Sox and the Cubs clinched their respective divisions.
So the AL is set, we just need to find out who takes the best record, Boston or Cleveland.
And the NL still has the East and West fighting it out, with the Padres looking like they've got the Wild Card as a fall back.
Fun, fun races this year.

Congratulations Philly fans, your Phils are headed to the playoffs!
Wow. I cannot believe that Mets blew it. A monumental meltdown by the Metropolitans...

Wow, I cannot believe how the Mets crumpled. Whooo for the Phils!
Moyer pitched a great game today and Rollins hit his 20th Triple of the year, iirc. Heres hoping the dude on Colorado's team doesn't beat out Howard for the RBI title!

Man, congrats to the Phils and their fans. What a hard-fought battle to take the title. I guess Jimmy Rollins and his prediction in Spring Training doesn't seem so silly now, does it?

Not looking good for the Phillies now. With their starting pitching after Hamels, I don't see them being able to come back from a 2-0 deficit. Plus, Colorado's on a major roll right now. If I was Arizona or Chicago, I might be hoping for a Colorado sweep and a 4 or 5 game win in my own series, so the Rox hitters have some time to cool off.
Of course, the way Lou is managing, he might manage the Cubs into a 3-game sweep the wrong way.
