It took a couple years, but I finally dig them. Meg is hot. Whoever came up with the idea for the hardest button to button videa, must have been tripping on acid. Good video but strange. Think I will purchase elephant tomorrow.

I was in the midwest when they were in NY, and I'll be in NY when they're in the midwest. It's horrible.

But that aside, The White Stripes are easily the best and most exciting rock band around. They have a true love for music and performing that's hard to find in mainstream music these days. They don't usually get as much credit as they deserve either, sometimes because people can't differentiate technical difficulty and simplicity. Plus, they brought back the Blues in a big way, which is awesome. Here's some great videos:

Dj, just watched them play lets build a home, on conan, WOW! I picked the worst time to be broke. Soon as I get some spending cash, I will be getting elephant. I wish I had not been so dang obstinant with people in the past trying to get me to listen to them. Just thinking of all the amazing concerts I have missed. Grrr. But still great band, I have a lot of catching up to do with their work.

I know what you mean. I only got into them this year. While Elephant is definitely their best album, all their others are very solid as well (The White Stripes, De Stijl, White Blood Cells, Get Behind Me Satan, and Icky Thump). What's great about them is even though they have a great garage band sound they still try out lots of new things, especially in Get Behind Me Satan and Icky Thump. Also, even though you've missed live shows, there's a DVD of one of their performances out called Under Blackpool Lights that's really good. Or you could go the cheap route like me and just find free videos on youtube. ;)
