This a thread to post links to songs that you would put on a mix tape. Could be a cool place to introduce/get introduced to some new and interesting stuff.
Review the last few mixes before you post yours.
Here is my driving mix it is heavy in Canadians, largely because they rock:
Le Tigre - Decepticon (http://youtube.com/watch?v=EU1CDSP7FRk)
Feist- 1234 (http://youtube.com/watch?v=d3vIv1EwO5A)
De La Soul - All Good (http://youtube.com/watch?v=iYhFHn5wB3s)
Chixdiggit - Where's Your Mom (http://youtube.com/watch?v=_f7kfhDejH8)
Belle and Sebastion - Sleep The Clock Around (http://youtube.com/watch?v=l5nRufHKXIw)
Sleater-Kinney - Get Up (http://youtube.com/watch?v=ubyVReV2gDc)

Put the proper text in their appropriate places and remove the space after the first "[" (capitals are optional, I just did it to see what was essential). There is also a button on the advanced Add Reply page (globe with chain-link).

Type the title/word you want, (i.e Kate Bush - "Running Up That Hill"), and then click on the little icon of the earth with a paperchain link in front of it.
In the pop up window, type the url of the youtube video, and press ok. Then press preview to see if it's worked.
Feist sounds cool.

My favorite Belle & Sebastian track is their cover of "Suspicious Minds." (http://www.ezarchive.com/micki/AlbumSpace/WQIDU5HJ4/Belle+*26+Sebastian+-+Suspicious+Minds.mp3) They play it totally straight right up until the crowd starts singing along (which, admittedly, is about ten seconds into the song). And if you're a DJ Shadow fan, you should check out (if you haven't already) his remix of Radiohead's The Gloaming (http://servetherevolution.com/DJShadow-GloamingRemix.mp3).
And I just can't bring myself to enjoy Wilco. When I was working in radio, I had a program director who was absolutely bonkers for Uncle Tupelo. Ruined Jeff Tweedy for me forever.

Oh, I recognize that they're talented musicians. Heck, they're going to be playing a show for my venue in the fall. But having them jammed down my throat for the better part of three years was just too much. I was running the goth/industrial show - why on earth would anyone think that Uncle Tupelo would be appropriate for that? Thank goodness Mojave 3 came along when they did. They were country enough that my PD was happy and shoegazer enough that my listeners (all three of them) didn't put down their bongs to change the channel.

Props for CSS/Imogen Heap
Some songs I'm loving atm;
This Side Of The Blue - Joanna Newsom (no good videos for this)
Scary - Bjork (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGzGJBZT7n0)
On The Verge Of Something Wonderful - Darren Hayes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmlV_hEisXI) (Loving this album so much)
Into A Swan - Siouxsie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3CC0t66gd4) (I NEED her new album!)
I recently found new love of "American Life" by Madonna becasue of this video. Original uncensored video - Mild violence and gore, may scare younger children/people (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R55xDxaXw5E) Please, If this is a breach of the video rules, i'll remove it. I wasn't sure it was extreme enough to break the rules. Oh well.
EDIT: This probably like at least a 15 rating. The last minute's pretty extreme if you are sensitive to images of war.
