One of my students put this together for me and his other classmates...

This program is a video converter, and will convert between most media formats. It can change what type of video the file is i.e. .avi .mpg .mov. It can also strip the audio from video files and save it in any format i.e. .mp3 .wav .aac. This is most obvioulsy useful for converting videos downloaded from YouTube or other streaming sites for use with your "check this out"s. It can also play any file that has recently been encoded by it. In the program itself there are easily understandable descriptions of what most of the buttons will do when you hover your mouse over them. If anybody has questions just ask and i will try to answer them.

If you dont know how to download videos from places like YouTube, here are links to solutions. For Mozilla Firefox users follow this link https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006 for anybody who does not use Firefox follow this link http://www.flvsoft.com/download_flv/ with this one you can also get an flv player, which may be useless if you're just going to convert it. To use this one, after running the program, click new (top left) and then paste the link of the video you want to download. You can also click a button on the lower left that says Manual Browser. This will open a browser window. Go to the site that has the video you want through this window, and it should offer you donwload options. Send me an email or talk to me in class and I can assist with any problems.

That site requires no real downloading at all. What you do is you upload your file to them and then download it back from them as the format you want. It's really kind of strange.
