Wade Keller is reporting that Ric Flair quit WWE earlier this week. Flair is frustrated with his push and lack of any encouraging communication from the front office.

Both sides have ongoing discussions to try and cool the situations down, with WWE hoping to talk him in to agreeing not to quit the company. The situation with Flair doesn’t appear to be related to the suspensions. This is a big blow to WWE, considering the lack of depth in the roster right now.

If the two sides don’t come to terms, Flair could sign a deal with TNA for the two-hour launch. TNA is well aware of the situation and interested in signing Flair.

Although the story did not break until Tuesday, WrestlingObserver.com reports that Ric Flair gave notice to WWE sometime around August 21.

As reported, Flair's decision to quit is related to his lack of a push; the recent drug scandal apparently had nothing to do with his giving notice.

WWE reportedly offered Flair a "major program" in exchange for his agreement to stay on board. At press time, however, the two sides had not worked out a deal and, as the Observer says, "nobody except perhaps Flair knows where things stand at this moment." credit lordsofpain.com

This is stunning news, and honestly, this can really hurt the WWE and help boost TNA. This drug issue that the WWE is dealing with, combined with TNA pushing itself into a two-hour format could cause some major havoc.

Personally I don't see ol' grandma boobs helping TNA much.

They need to make their own starts, not keep leeching off pre-made stars that they don't know how to use.

Flair leaving isn't going to hurt WWE that much either, I couldn't even tell you what he was doing over on SD, but when he was still on RAW he was feuding with Carlito, not exactly a top tier program.

It might not hurt in the on-air situation, but from outsiders points of view? Having Ric "quit" over retiring makes it sound like he's upset over the current product; which never is good.

If Flair does go to TNA, I hope it's as a manager. Flair is still one of the best talkers in wrestling. In ring work, however, has declined steadly over the years.

Scary thing is, Char?

He can outwrestle half the talent out there right now.

That's 'cause no one wrestles anymore. Even when they've got the talent, they're limited to three-minute matches that consist of them hitting the same spots over and over again.

Or, they're all giants who can't cross the ring in under a minute.

Apparently this may not be true, at least not quite yet.

Did you go? I heard the ladder match was insane! I saw the clip of the beatdown of the Briscoes on YouTube. Man, that was just brutal.

Hey, I got to meet Morishima, KENTA, and Marufuji last Friday at an independent show close to Jefferson City. It was so cool. KENTA is just so fast...

If he goes to TNA, I hope he goes as someone's manager. Seriously, how great could Flair be as a manager. He's too friggin' old to be taken seriously anymore.
