5-8 this week, not a good one for me at all.

13-12 in two weeks. Ugh. Had a good first week though. Whats on the tap for this weeks heart breakers?

Tennessee at Houston (ugly ugly game last week, but Vince should be able to show Houston what they missed out on. Titans D should contain the Texans enough for a win.)

Baltimore at Buffalo (the ugly game of the week right here folks. Ravens will win, but it will be like the Titan/Bucs last week)

Minnesota at Dallas (Dallas takes out the lose on the Vikings)

Tampa Bay at Detroit (Bucs D is great, Lions non-existent. Lions offense is great, Bucs offense is ok. Bucs win)

Arizona at Washington (Redskins are a good team, and with Rattay at QB, Edge gets smothered)

San Francisco at NY Giants (49ers can't get anything going, the Giants are a good team)

Atlanta at New Orleans (Harrington should be in hospital bed with the shots he's been taking. Saints D is decent enough to seal the win.)

New England at Miami (Poor poor poor Miami)

Kansas City at Oakland (This is the game I'm wavering about. If LJ gets going, KC wins, if he struggles Raiders steal it. But LJ has started getting in rhythm I think)

NY Jets at Cincinnati (Pennington loses his job after this week. Bengals will have a massive chip on their shoulder and something to prove)

Chicago at Philadelphia (Bears will shore up that D, and the Eagles are looking pretty bad.)

St. Louis at Seattle (I know Bulgar may start but I think the Seahawks will take last weeks drubbing out on the Rams.)

Pittsburgh at Denver (Broncos look bad, and Steelers look really good. Broncos lose again.)

Monday Night Football
Indianapolis at Jacksonville Point Total: 34

This should be a good game, but like the Bucs, I think the Colts Offense is just that good. Too many weapons and the Colts D is solid enough to keep the Jags unable to keep up with Manning's offense. No knock on the Jags D, which is very good, I think the Jags make the playoffs, but the Colts are just that good.

Maybe YOU weren't watching the right game, because the first time he touched the ball, he ran it up the middle for about 20 yards.;)

He did it several other times as well.

The only time that he did not run up the ball effectively is when the O-Line didn't block very well at the end of the game. But no Running Back can run up the middle effectively if their O-Line isn't blocking well.

It's not that I don't think Indy is a good team, but if I was going to pick a week that Indy would fall (before they played New England), then I would say it is going to be this week against a very good Jacksonville Jaguars team.

I think this is the beginning of the Saints uprising, as they play Atlanta, San Fran, and St. Louis next. That, and their offense is getting back to what it was last year.

It's hard for me to think about what Carson Palmer is going to do to the Jets.

Pittsburg has an amazing matchup against Denver. Granted, Denver has the best secondary in football, but fortunately for Pittsburg they are a run-first offense, and rightly so with Parker. Denver has a horrible rush defense, and will get throttled by Parker.

Tie-breaker is to determine who was the best prognosticator for the week : ergo if there was 2 people that were 12-3 , the person with the point total closest to the actual points scored in the Monday Night game would be the winner.

And my professional, expert, always correct analysis... :cheeky:

Tennessee at Houston - Houston still has no running game. And I'm one of the few that believes that Tennessee can survive without Vince Young. I just don't see how he's really helped the team thus far. With those receivers, it doesn't matter who the QB is.....

Baltimore at Buffalo - Baltimore is where it's always been, and Buffalo still sucks.

Minnesota at Dallas - Dallas has a balanced offense, Minnesota doesn't. I have to admit, though, I'm not feeling good about this pick. Romo could easily lose ANY game for Dallas. Compound that with Chester Taylor and Adrian Peterson running down your throat, it could very well go to Minnesota.

Tampa Bay at Detroit - I'm still a believer in Detroit. And now that they've figured out their RB situation, they might start running the ball better, which means Kitna will have better opportunities, which will mean their defensive numbers might improve.

Arizona at Washington - Washington needs to execute. They need to catch passes, and they need to stop fumbling. That is all.

San Francisco at NY Giants - San Fran sucks.

Atlanta at New Orleans - Hopefully, NO will keep their fire alive, and give their home stadium a good show for once this season.

New England at Miami - Now, keep your eyes open for this one, folks. Miami is NOTORIOUS for giving New England trouble in Miami. Some of the most unbeatable Patriot teams have been beaten in Miami by even WORSE Dolphin teams. But still, this is New England....

Kansas City at Oakland - This one could go either way. Really hoping we see Priest Holmes this weekend. If they can get the Priest/Grandmama package going again, they could have their unstoppable offense going again.

NY Jets at Cincinnati - Jets suck. Let's see if the Bungles can get something going.

Chicago at Philadelphia - Philly has been......well....they haven't been impressive at all this season. Griese is on a roll.

St. Louis at Seattle - St. Louis sucks. Seattle will finally see daylight, or they'll lose this game as well, and never get back into this season again.

Pittsburgh at Denver - This should be a win for the Steelers. Denver is not the team they used to be. And the Steelers, despite having a loss on their record this season, are allowing less points than anyone else this season. This could be a very nasty game, but I have a feeling that Denver is going to get run over. Ben, please don't throw anywhere near Champ Bailey....

Monday Night Football
Indianapolis at Jacksonville - 56 overall - I'm not a believer in Jacksonville. I know a lot of people who are, but I'm just not there yet. Indy may come out of this with a whole lot of injuries.

San Fran sucks.

I have to correct you here. SF does not suck, Trent Difer sucks. SF has a pretty good team this year, but thier starting QB and TE have been out for the last 2 games. Davis is supposed to be back this week, but, unfortunately, it wont be enough. He still has Dilfer at QB.

However, Smith is supposed to be back next week. If he is, watch out for SF. They can win the division, if it's not too late.

That's really been the case for a while in San Fran, though, and every year they find some way to screw themselves over.

Now that they are finally out from under thier salary cap issues (they were still paying Rice, among others who no longer actually played there), they have been really trying to put together a good team. They still have a chance to win the division. St. Louis sucks, Arizona has Leinert out for the season, and Seattle still hasn't convinced me they are as good as people say they are. I'm not saying they will win the Super Bowl or anything, but just making the playoffs will be a huge improvement over the 4 or so wins they had 2 years ago....

BudPalmer

Analyzing analysis of analyzatory analyzation:

Detroit v. Chicago - I'm a believer in Detroit this year. If Kevin Jones can stop eating Twinkies, and get himself into shape this week so that he can play for more than a quarter, this should be a high scoring game for both teams.

Pittsburgh v. Cincinnati - Cincinnati is playing horribly, but Pittsburgh's secondary is exposed. Look for this to be one of the better games.

Oakland v. Tennessee - I'm thoroughly unimpressed with Tennessee the past few weeks. 8 field goals does not mean you played a good game. 8 field goals means that you're not executing in the red zone. And when you have White and Brown in the backfield, that's not tolerable. Oakland, on the other hand, is playing increasingly impressive defense lately, and their offense has spurts of awesomeness.

Cleveland v. St. Louis - Y'know, when you're 0-7, it's really not the time to go and trash talk your next opponent. Namely, an opponent who's been exposing the best defenses in the league this season, and is probably going to walk all over you. Not smart to get them an emotional charge going into the game. Look for the Browns to have a 20 point lead at the end, at least.

Giants v. Miami - Miami sucks, and they're gonna make the Giants look like the best team in the NFL again...is anyone else disturbed that people are raving about the NYG, when they knock the carp out of teams like.....the 49ers???

Philadelphia v. Minnesota - Minnesota's pass defense is one of the worst in the league. If McNabb decides to show up and play, this could be nasty. Then again, if Childress decides to let Adrian Peterson show up and play, this could go the other way.

Indianapolis v. Carolina - David Carr is back! ........wait.....

Buffalo v. Jets - The Jets are playing more and more horribly as the season goes on. And Buffalo....man.....someone pissed in these guys' cheerios, and they want everyone to know about it. Ever since the Dallas game, these guys are just.....wow.....

Houston v. San Diego - Houston still lacks a running game, and San Diego doesn't. Still a tad worried about how this team intends to finish out the season. I was impressed with what Rosenfels did, but cmon, you can't tell me Matt Shaub was really the problem in Houston. The problem was, and still is, the lack of backfield.

Jacksonville v. Tampa Bay - This is a close one. I could really pick this either way. Disappointed with the way the Jags played on MNF, but they could bounce off of that. TB had a crushing loss this week to Detroit as well.

Washington v. New England - Washington could make this game very very interesting. In the meantime, I'm riding the Tom Brady train in our office fantasy league.....

New Orleans v. San Francisco - I'm still not sold on New Orleans. I guess I just don't see any identity with this team anymore. And I'm not sure they do, either. Last year, I pointed to this team, and said, "This is the most potent offense in the AFC." This year.....

MNF: Green Bay v. Denver: 50 points - Not sure how this is gonna go, really. I would HOPE that they'd try and run the football on Denver......

Griese has new confidence. Detroit still has questions.

Pittsburgh v. Cincinnati

The gold and black rebound from their loss to Denver. The Bengles are still a mystery to me they are practically the same team from last year but still stink.

Oakland v. Tennessee

Culpepper turns the ball over at least once a game. Tennessee will roll.

Cleveland v. St. Louis

St. Louis sucks. Plain and simple.

Giants v. Miami

Speaking of sucks, Miami is pretty terrible too!

Philadelphia v. Minnesota

And for the suck trifecta, I give you the Eagles! I've given up on them, how about you?

Indianapolis v. Carolina

Carolina is banged up and Indy is doing what they do.

Buffalo v. Jets

I have no idea why I'm picking the Jets here.

Houston v. San Diego

Houston has been better this year than they have even been. But they have injuries and San Diego looks like they are closer to fixing what is wrong.

Jacksonville v. Tampa Bay

Without their starting QB Jacksonville should have issues putting up points. Jeff Garcia will fire up the Bucs and win this game.

Washington v. New England

I know Washington fans think the Skins are underrated but guess what? They just aren't that good. New England will be able to pull Brady before the half in this game. I predict they will win by a larger magin than they did against Miami.

New Orleans v. San Francisco

Injury woes will allow New Orleans to win this close game.

MNF: Green Bay v. Denver: 44 points

Denver loves primetime. So does Farve but he's playing a pretty good defense this week and his accuracy has been carp lately.

There you have it, I've stolen a page from Thamus's book. To date I've yet to read any one of his explaination posts but don't let that stop you!:p

My take on things:

Detroit v. Chicago - Jon Kitna hasn't been looking too good the past couple of weeks, and I think Greise is just decent enough to keep the Lions O on the sideline enough to make it a close game, with the Bears pulling it out.

Pittsburgh v. Cincinnati - The Steelers are for real, and the Bengals can't stop them with the shoddy D of theirs. Bengals put up some points, but not enough.

Oakland v. Titans - I've been annoyed with m Titans the past couple of weeks, they must score in the redzone. But thats always been their deal. Oakland will have a rough time against that Titans defense which will be out to hurt someone after last weeks fourth quarter.

Cleveland v. St. Louis - SJax is back? Big deal his O-line stinks something awful. Cleveland puts up 40+ on them.

Giants v. Miami - So the best way to get International attention for the NFL is to send the Dolphins to London??? The DOLPHINS??? We do realize Marino is retired right? Giants destroys Miami.

Minnesota v. Philly - Vikings didn't look too bad against Romo and Cowboys, and the Eagles are no Cowboys. Peterson and crew have another bad day.

Indy v. Carolina - They want Carr back?!? He's 100x the athlete I am, but come on he stinks. Peyton and crew eat them alive.

Buffalo v. Jets - Pennington's last game at QB. The Bills would be a solid team if not plagued by injuries. The Jets just stink and are in need of a change.

Houston v. San Diego - LT has his way this game, and I don't think the Texans will be able to do much about it. Norv Turner realized the equation: LT+lots of carries= wins. Can't believe it took him two games to realize that.

Jacksonville v. Tampa Bay - I think with Jacksonville's run game they should get the edge, by slowing it down and grinding it out. If they get behind late, they are in trouble with Grey at QB.

Washington v. New England - I like Washington as a Playoff team, but the lack of explosive offense will make this another notch on New England's belt. Offense is too good and their D is good enough to stop Washington enough times.

New Orleans v. San Francisco - I think if they can get Gore involved, the San Fran D is good enough to mess with the Saints rhythm on offense, 49ers have a very good shot at winning this one.

Green Bay v. Denver - I still don't think Denver is as good as their record says. And if Dre is hurt the pass happy Packers will have too much for the Broncos to handle. And if they get their ten RB's some touches, Denver should be in trouble.

Buffalo v. Jets
Houston v. San Diego
Jacksonville v. Tampa Bay

Green Bay v. Denver: 53 points

Small analysis:

Detroit - They can run, they can throw. It doesn't matter, because Chicago doesn't have a Defense anymore. Nor do they have an offense.

Pittsburg - I have a feeling this will be a high scoring game, particularly a high passing game. But the Pittsburg Defense is A LOT better than the Cinci defens, while the Cinci pass offense is A LOT better than the Pittsburg pass offense (however, they are still very good passers just not on the level of T.J., Chad, and Carson). But it will come down to the fact that I think Pittsburg will win it close by deciding to run the ball with Willie, while their Defense can hang in there at the end.

Oakland - If they can run they ball, they will win. Fortunately for them, they can run the ball very well and Tennessee just isn't producing like they should.

Cleveland - Cleveland is slightly above average while St. Louis is pretty bad. I expect this to be a high scoring game, but I expect Braylon Edwards, Derek Anderson, and ESPECIALLY Kellen Winslow to all have stellar games.

Giants - I feel bad for the punishment that Cleo Lemons is about to take. It's going to be very, very, very ugly.

Minnesota - Granted, Donovan should have a very good day when he is on the field. But with Adrian and Chester back there, he shouldn't get the ball as often as normal. The Minnesota defense is significantly better than the Eagles defense, and Brian Westbrook shouldn't have all that great of a day. Expect Donovan McNabb, Kevin Curtis, and Adrian Peterson to all have very good games.

Indianapolis - I'm basing this on 2 main things. One is that Carolina won't have a very good quarterback starting. Two is that the Indy Defense simply won't let Steve go back as they don't give up very many deep balls at all. Indy is a better team in every facet of the game.

Buffalo - Buffalo isn't good. The Jets are horrible. Marshawn should destroy the Jets.

San Diego - Without Andre Johnson, and without a rush offense, Houston is losing too many games to even come close to competing with San Diego. Not to mention San Diego has realized that they want to give the ball to one of the best running backs in the history of the game.

Jacksonville - With Gray at quarterback, they will need to run the ball. That won't be too hard, and their defense is good enough to keep Tampa out of the endzone.

New England - Washington is a very good team, and I expect that they will make this the closest game that New England has played. Does that mean New England won't win by 7 or 10 points? No, not at all. But Washington has the best pass defense in the game right now, and they should challenge Tom the most.

New Orleans - New Orleans has won 2 in a row, and they realize that giving the ball to Reggie Bush a LOT means winning games. Drew is on his game, Reggie is running hard. Alex might be back, but his O-Line is hurting and thats not good going up against the red-hot Charles Grant. Frank is going to be running hurt, Alex is going to be throwing hurt. San Fran isn't good enough to beat New Orleans.

Denver - I actually consider this an upset seeing as how Green Bay is favored. But Jay Cutler found out how to use his awesome talent, and Travis Henry is still playing. Champ might be back, which eliminates whatever receiver he is covering (likely Donald Driver, Brett's biggest target). That's not good for a primarily pass-offense. Deshawn Wynn should have a pretty good day, though.

Oh, are we all listing the reasons for our picks? I guess I'll play along!

Detroit v. Chicago
Griese is playing well, and Detroit, despite thier good start, hasn't convinced me yet.

Pittsburgh v. Cincinnati
Pittsburgh will be angry coming off thier loss to Denver, and Cinci just hasn't shown much of anything yet.

Oakland v. Tennessee
Vince Young is back, and Oakland sucks.

Cleveland v. St. Louis
Sure St. Lois sucks, but the Browns aren't much better. Besides, they have to win some time, might as well be this week....

Giants v. Miami
Giants are on one heck of a roll after thier terrible start, and, well, Miami still sucks. I don't think the Giants will be caught sleeping across the pond.

Philadelphia v. Minnesota
Philly sucks, but so do the Vikes. Sure, they have Pederson, but he can't carry a whole team by himself for an entire season.

Indianapolis v. Carolina
Indy is too diciplined to look past Carolina, and Carolina isn't very good.

Buffalo v. Jets
Buffalo has impressed me, even in thier losses. The Jets have not.

Houston v. San Diego
Houston isn't all that great, but SD will have a tough time overcoming the big distraction they are dealing with right now. Otherwise, SD has been relatively impressive in thier last couple games.

Jacksonville v. Tampa Bay
Meh. Coin-flip.

Washington v. New England
Sure, Washington has won most of thier last few games, but they are just too hot right now, and they have a coach who will make sure they don't overlook them. Plus, Washinton hasn't really impressed me yet.

New Orleans v. San Francisco
Alex Smith is supposed to be back this week. That's a good thing. Plus, NO hasn't been all that impressive so far...

MNF: Green Bay v. Denver
Sure, Denver is coming off a big win over Pitt, but I felt that Pitt lost that game, rather than Denver won it. Plus, GB is pretty good this year.....

I think I'm going with the underdog in alot of these, but I'm going with my gut feelings and heres what I see going on:

San Francisco v. Atlanta - I think the Falcons have been close to winning some of these games. No Leftewich is a very good thing, and if they give Norwood more touches then I think they can win a few more games. Anyhoo with Gore not at full speed the 49er's are not good.

Cincinnati v. Buffalo - I like Buffalo, but they are so banged up they won't be able to keep up with Palmer and crew points wise.

Denver v. Detroit - Lions win three in a row??? It's the end of the world! I've been down on Denver all year, and I still am. But the fact the Lions have shown they can run the ball, they show me they can win this game. If some dude I've never heard of from the Packers can rush for over 100 yards, then anyone can. They run the ball and win.

Carolina v. Tennessee - Yes they win ugly, but frankly I don't care how they win. And it's not just Vince's fault, our receivers dropped at least THREE easy passes, two for a score, passes Middle school kids should catch. I pray we draft a receiver finally who pans out. But the Titans will win, cause the Panthers don't have a chance of moving the ball on our D.

Green Bay v. Kansas City - This is the one if the two I'm not 100% on. I think the short week, and the Chiefs coming off the bye, will give the advantage to Kansas City, a close one.

San Diego v. Minnesota - Too much for the Vikings to handle. LT might be slowed down, but if Rivers has a decent day then Chargers win.

Jacksonville v. New Orleans - I know I'm going to catch flak for this one, but I think Jacksonville defense is good enough stop Brees and crew from having a good day, but I'm not sure about the Saints D being able to stop Taylor and Jones-Drew.

Washington v. NY Jets - Kellens first start? Against a angry and upset Redskins D? Good night sweet prince, try not to get killed.

Arizona v. Tampa Bay - Another one that could go either way. I like Arizona having two weeks to prepare and heal.

Seattle v. Cleveland - Yes I picked the Browns over the Seahawks. I'm not sure what has happened, but sometime this year, instead of contending, they are just trying to hold on to a shred of dignity. Yes I know they get receivers back, who should be rusty after missing some weeks. The Browns have some heart and the offense is dynamite. Never thought I'd ever say that sentence about the Browns.

New England v. Indianapolis - I think the Pats are going to win...and somehow the soulless Bellichek has made me sympathize with the Colts! I fart in your general direction because of that! A Titans fan not disliking the Colts, shameful. But should be an amazing game.

Houston v. Oakland - This should be another horrid game, Culpepper is getting worse by the week, and the finger should be on the trigger of Russell, he'll be playing soon. But Houston should be able to win this one.

Dallas v. Philadelphia - When I think the Eagles are dead they manage to win a game, but not this one. Cowboys smack them around.

Steelers on MNF? Yes please. Ravens Offense is so bad, I'm being generous by thinking they will get 13 points. Steelers show why they are a top tier team.

Small analysis:

Atlanta - San Fran just lost Gore again, and Norwood could go crazy. This isn't an easy pick, as both teams aren't very good, but I think Atlanta should pull out a win.

Cincinnati - Cincinnati still has an amazingly talented offense, while the Bills have Marshawn Lynch. I'll take T.J., Carson, and Chad over Marshawn.

Detroit - Denver can't stop the run, and that's something that you need BADLY against Kevin Jones now.

Tennessee - This is pretty easy. Carolina has David Carr starting at quarterback. Tennessee has Vince Young starting at quarterback. Carolina's defense isn't good at all. Tennessee's defense is pretty damn good. Need I say more?

Kansas City - I just don't think that Brett will get on the field much, because I think L.J. will have a field day. It will be very very close, but I think Kansas City wins it in the end.

San Diego - Now this is a battle of the 2 best running backs in the game, if you ask me. Unfortunately for the Vikings, San Diego has one of the best Tight Ends in the league, a new star receiver, a young talented quarterback, and a good run defense. Granted, the Vikings have a better run defense, but Chris Chambers, Antonio Gates, and Philip Rivers should put it on the Vikings very very hard. No Viking quarterback is good enough to compete with the San Diego passing game. Neither LT or Adrian will have great days, but Philip Rivers sure will.

New Orleans - Not only is David Garrard missing, but Jones-Drew is hurt and so is Fred Taylor. Jones-Drew might play, but he will be playing hurt. Statistically, New Orleans hasn't allowed 100 rushing yards to an opponent in the past 5 weeks. They also haven't allowed a sack int he past 5 weeks. Drew Brees has 8 touchdowns and 1 interception in the past 5 weeks. Reggie Bush has over 100 total yards in the past 5 games. Reggie Bush is average 5.7 yards a rush in the past 5 games. Jacksonville doesn't have near a good enough offense to compete with New Orleans.

Washington - It's the freaking New York Jets. With their 30th ranked offense. Going up against the 3rd ranked defense. Oh, and did I mention that the Jets have a new quarterback? He might be just as bad as Chad.:surprised

Tampa Bay - Arizona is playing hurt, while Tampa is still a fairly solid team. This really could go either way.

Seattle - Seattle has a better defense than Cleveland (while that's not good), and I believe that Matt Hasslebeck will outplay Derek Anderson.

New England - Yea, I pussed out. I think this is going to be a shootout, and I think New England will win.

Oakland - Fargas is running hard, Houston has no running game and Andre Johnson is out.

Dallas - Dallas is just a far better team. They will get up early, and Marion will carry them the rest of the way.

Pittsburg - Pittsburg has the number 1 defense in the league, with a much much better offense than Baltimore.

I honestly give up.

The Seahawks aren't close to being good. They're ok and will go 9-7. With a soft schedule.

But more importantly this: No one is going to beat the Colts or Patriots in the NFC. So all you NFC fans.....time to go home. Writings on the wall.

Goodbye season. I pray the Seahawks do great in the trades and draft picks. Perhaps some offensive linemen.

At least Matt is playing well. And Deion should be back soon. The Seahawks are going to win their division, man.

Oh, and I fully agree with the "No team will beat either the Colts or Patriots" thing. However, if somehow another team gets to the Superbowl, I think that they can be beaten.

The Colts and the Patriots are the only ones that I don't think any NFC team (or any other team besides eachother) can beat.

On another note, I think it's safe to say that the Saints are on fire. Especially due to Drew Brees and his offensive line. The guy was even better this week than he was last week. Didn't know that was possible. As if that wasn't enough, Reggie Bush was running incredibly hard and he looked great.

It is quite possible, while not more than likely, that the Saints could go 12-4. In order, the Saints play:

St. Louis
Houston
Carolina
Tampa Bay
Atlanta
Arizona
Philadelphia
Chicago

One of those teams, yes one of them, has a winning record. And that record is 5-4 (hardly unbeatable).

Not only that, but arguably the best team that they have played so far (aside from Indy) in Jacksonville, they just trampled on easily.

On a little side note, it pains me to think about how Marc Bulger is going to feel on Sunday when Will Smith and Charles Grant are ALL over him.

Oh, as for Superbowl 41 1/2, I really don't think that this means the Patriots have the mental edge. The Colts blew that game, and if they meet in the AFC Championship (very likely), I truly believe that the Colts have a very good chance at beating them.

Exactly. First of all, if you can get to Tom you can SERIOUSLY mess with the Patriots.

And we knew this already, but to a greater extent than most realized, running the ball effectively is key.

Apperantly the Saints have totally gotten back on track and I have missed the ball big time on them. I knew they would get better, but I never thought they would be beating down teams as ugly as they have been.

But I'll be more then amazed if the Saints go 12-4. I think Houston is a dangerous team when they get all their injured players back, and Tampa Bay can't be overlooked. But They own their division it seems.

Man is my Titans Offense ugly. UGLY. But I'll take wins however I can get them. The defense is simply impressive. SO tough.

Can't wait to see my Steelers tomorrow.

spiderman9797

I honestly think that the Saints will go 11-5, but I'm just saying it's a possibility that they could go 12-4.

Houston will have Andre Johnson back when they play the Saints, though, and that isn't good. But their run game should be shut down and Matt should get a lot of pressure.

On another note, I really feel bad for St. Louis. They had the potential to be one of the best offenses in the league, but now they only have 3 offensive starters that aren't injured.

Sitting at 10-3 this week, if Pittsburgh wins I'll be 11-3.

Bengals Coach should be fired...can somebody memo him that his team is way below .500 and that he should go on it on 4th and 1, when his team is 2-4, 2-5, and now 2-6 ?

With the Packers and Lions winning it feels like 1996-1997.

I'm jumping on the Patriots Undefeated Bandwagon, along with Chris Collingsworth. Colts can beat them but I don't think they will.

10-4 Again not a bad showing on my part, I had a couple of complete blown calls, the Jacksonville v. New Orleans being on of those.

But I was completely right on the Steelers making the Ravens looking bad. Why were they bad last night, the Steelers could have scored more but I think they went to running the clock out in the second half.

Most interesting teams to watch: Titans, Saints, Steelers, Detroit, and Tampa Bay.
Interesting teams to watch in the negative sense: Eagles, Rams, Dolphins, and Seahawks.

The above group is a group of teams I will think will make the playoffs that folks may have not believed in pre-season.

The bottom group is interesting to see who get the first pick in the draft and how far the Eagles and Seahawks will fall. The Seahawks can win their division, but that would be they only way they make it the playoffs. Things don't look good for them right now.

My quick thoughts on the match ups this week:

Cleveland v. Pittsburgh - Steelers are just clearly better. Browns will put a few points on the board, but just not enough, and they won't be able to stop the Offense.

Philadelphia v. Washington - Redskins are decent, Eagles are meh. I expect the Redskins to steal this one.

Atlanta v. Carolina - I know this is an upset, but I think the Falcons are better then their record. And if Carr plays...

St. Louis v. New Orleans - It's the Rams...

Buffalo v. Miami - And they're the Dolphins...

Denver v. Kansas City - Who is a bigger lose: Jay Cutler or LJ? I say Cutler, since they shut down without him. And Henry may not play, bad day for the Broncos.

Jacksonville v. Tennessee - Well I'm biased, but a healthy Titans team versus a hurt Jags offense and their D is without Stroud. Titans get the W.

Minnesota v. Green Bay - Minnesota has a very good Run D, too bad for them the Packers only throw the ball.

Cincinnati v. Baltimore - Ravens will be ticked off about the Steelers game, but the Bengals can throw the ball, and if the Ravens are without their two starting corners this could get ugly.

Dallas v. NY Giants - One of the very close games. I expect the Cowboys offense is better then the Giants. But then again I think the Giants D is better then the Cowboys D. Should be a great game.

Detroit v. Arizona - A close call either way, but somehow the Lions D have shored up, so I think the Lions sneak a win.

Chicago v. Oakland - Yes I just picked the Raiders over the Bears. Oakland doesn't have a bad D, and Fargas is running well. Right now the Bears look flat.

Indianapolis v. San Deigo - Who will want this one more after both lost last week? Colts for sure, Norv Turner may just ruin this team.

Cleveland vs Pittsburgh: This should be far closer than their last game, but Pittsburgh is still an infinitely better team defensively. The Pittsburgh offense matches up far more nicely than the Cleveland offense, although I would say that Cleveland has a batter offense overall (although not by much).

Philadelphia vs Washington: Donovan's O-Line sucks A LOT and the Redskins D is very solid. Don't expect Donovan to have a good game, and expect Clinton Portis to have a very good game.

Atlanta vs Carolina: Sorry, but I just don't think Carolina can move the ball effectively OR stop anyone. I think even Atlanta will beat them.

New Orleans vs St. Louis: Not only is it the freaking Rams (whose offensive line should get manhandled by Charles Grant and Will Smith), but the Saints are freaking on fire right now. AND it's in their house (which I am going to). This should be a blowout by the end of the 3rd quarter, but St. Louis should score late as they go into pass-only mode.

Buffalo vs Miami: It's freaking Miami, and Buffalo isn't anywhere as bad as their record suggests. Marshawn Lynch is a runner up for Rookie of the Year.

Denver vs Kansas City: Will Priest Holmes be super impressive? Nah, I doubt it. But he will do well and Denver is horrible offensively and defensively (run defense, anyway).

Jacksonville vs Tennessee: Vince should start playing well, and the Titans defense will murder Jacksonville's offensive line.

Minnesota vs Green Bay: Adrian should get over 100 yards and at least a touchdown, but he won't do what he did last week. Oh, and Brett should have a field day.

Cincinnati vs Baltimore: I always have a problem as to who to choose between these 2, but Steven McNair is playing so horribly and the Baltimore pass defense should be renamed as the "Ed Reed" defense. Unfortunately for him, he can't cover Chris Henry, T.J., and Chad.

Dallas vs N.Y. Giants: Yea, I'm picking it. Sadly enough. I need Marion to do well, though. :ermm: But I just think that the Giants are doing too well and Dallas isn't as good as they are hyped up to be. It should be VERY close, though.

Detroit vs Arizona: Detroit's defense is starting to be amazing, and we all know about their offense. Arizona, however, isn't very good.

Chicago vs Oakland: Yes, Chicago will win this one. Know why? Because Devin Hester is going to get the ball, AND score at least once. He's too damn good.

Indy vs San Diego: I don't want to hear #### about how Indy's pass defense isn't as good as originally thought. Yes. They. Are. They picked off Tom Brady as much as he had been picked off ALL YEAR. Philip Rivers is NO Tom Brady, that's for sure. Bob Sanders won't let LT run wild, and after a few series, LT won't get the ball much because the Chargers will be so far behind.

Seattle vs San Francisco: Come on, guys, it's San Fran. They don't even like giving the ball to their all-pro Running Back. Instead, they have the unproven Alex Smith throw the ball over people's heads. I expect a blowout.

Cleveland v. Baltimore - Remember when the Browns were the shame of the AFC and Ravens were good? How times change.

San Diego v. Jacksonville This could go either way, but Jacksonville is good enough on defense to slow down LT, and the Jags are comfortable grinding out wins.

Miami v. Philadelphia I am tempted to pick Miami due to the QB change, he might give a spark, but I wussed out.

Oakland v. Minnesota Oakland look at every other poor team with a poor QB, a put the kid in!

Kansas City v. Indianapolis Who cares if he threw six picks, they still 'should of won'. 9 out of 10, Vinatari makes that kick, and the Chargers look silly. Brodie Croyle v. Peyton Manning? I'll take the vet every time.

Carolina v. Green Bay News flash Carr had all of his talent sacked out of him years ago. They need Vinnie badly. Oh and the Packers are hot right now.

NY Giants v. Detroit I'm thinking the good Lions show up this game, Giants may be fired up after getting spanked by Dallas, but I think they will be flat.

Tampa Bay v. Atlanta Tampa Bay is going to the playoffs, mark my words

New Orleans v. Houston New Orleans WILL be fired up after losing to the Rams, and Houston is still missing pieces due to injury.

Arizona v. Cincinnati This one could go either way, Arizona has some studs on their team yet do nothing with them. Bengals should be an elite team, but last I checked they stink. Toss up.

Pittsburgh v. NY Jets Jets get beat up, figuratively and physically. Steelers are very good.

Chicago v. Seattle Another one that could go either way, wondering when Rex will remind everyone why they benched him in the first place.

St. Louis v. San Francisco Rams seem to be getting healthier somewhat and Dilfer is starting for the 49er's, DILFER! This might be the ugly game of the week.

Washington v. Dallas Redskins are banged up, and Dallas looks fresh as a daisy.

New England v. Buffalo - Buffalo will be fired up, but Pats should struggle for the first half before blowing up the Bills in the second.

MNF: Tennessee v. Denver Loving my Titans chances on the road against a horrible run defense. Most of our missing defensive players, including Haynesworth should be back, so Cutler might be in for a long night.

Arizona v. Cincinnati

Chicago v. Seattle - This was the game that showed Chicago was for real last year, and I think they'll do it again this year. Seattle looks much better since they just went straight out tossing the ball.

St. Louis v. San Francisco
Washington v. Dallas
New England v. Buffalo - Strangely this is the game that worries me the most in the regular season for NE. Before the NE/IND game Buffalo was the team to hold the lead against NE for the longest ( at all?). Buffalo had Dallas in their hands in a prime time game at home. Experts are spinning it as a "maybe not a blowout" and I tend to agree. If it was spreads I'd take Buffalo.

From a poster named StumpJS on comicbloc.com:

The San Francisco 49ers football team practice was delayed on Saturday for nearly two hours. One of the players, while on his way to the locker room, happened to glance down and noticed a suspicious looking, powdery white substance on the practice field.

Coach Mike Nolan immediately suspended practice while the FBI was called in to investigate.

After a complete field analysis, the FBI determined that the white substance previously unknown to the 49ers players was the goal line.

Practice was resumed when the FBI decided that the team would not be likely to encounter the substance again

But it still doesn't matter because I'm convinced that barring a miracle, the Patriots are nigh unstoppable.

And some quick thoughts about the games:

Green Bay v. Detroit - Nothing like tradition, and tradition says Favre wins.

NY Jets v. Dallas - Yeah the Jets pulled an upset, but not two weeks in a row.

Indianapolis v. Atlanta - Colts will struggle with a short week with the injuries, but they still have more then enough to stop the Leftwich or Harrington Falcons.

Seattle v. St. Louis - Upset kiddies, Rams are tough against the run, very tough.

Minnesota v. NY Giants - I almost picked the Viks, but logic tells me the Giants.

Buffalo v. Jacksonville - Buffalo had some nice games, the Jags are red hot, watch out!

New Orleans v. Carolina - Bah poor Panthers, look what Carr has done to you!

Washington v. Tampa Bay - Say it again, Bucs will win the NFC South...it's true.

Houston v. Cleveland - Don't know which Texans will show up, the Browns show up each week, offensively that is.

Tennessee v. Cincinnati - Haynesworth better get his lazy butt suited up and play! We need to smack Palmer around.

Oakland v. Kansas City - Close game, but the Chiefs find a way.

San Francisco v. Arizona - New England thanks you for the top 3 pick...what has become of you 49er's?

Baltimore v. San Diego - As much as I like to see the Chargers lose, so they can fire Norv sooner, but I think they get this one. And Billick gets fired the sooner!

Denver v. Chicago - I was waaaay down on the Broncos early in the season, but they seem to found a stride of late, and the Bears are bad.

Philadelphia v. New England - The line on this game 22 1/2, insanity! Pats win huge.

MNF:
Miami v. Pittsburgh - Tough loss for the Steelers, but Miami is banged up and Big Ben and crew will be maaaaad.

10-6 for the week. Goodnight, were those some wacky games. I'm almost at lose for words on some of them. But weren't the Eagles cute trying to win, as everyone knew they would never pull it off. Nice thought though.

On to this week:
Green Bay v. Dallas - not sure if they will but I feel like picking them

Tennessee v. Houston - Titans snap out of it here or the season is headed down the drain

Jacksonville v. Indianapolis - Jags are good, but the Colt if remotely healthy are better

San Diego v. Kansas City - Hoping for a big scoring game for fantasy reason, but this should be a tough one

Atlanta v. St. Louis - Rams should be able to deal with the lame duck at QB for the Falcons

NY Jets v. Miami - Doesn't matter who is running the ball, the Fins will leave this one all out on the field, I thing they walk away with their first win

Detroit v. Minnesota - Somehow the Viks are on a roll, I think it continues

Seattle v. Philadelphia - Dude A.J. Feeley? Serioulsy? Looked 100X better then McNabb this season.

Buffalo v. Washington - Redskins looking to unleash some pent up pain and anger over the loss of a friend. I expect them to be fired up huge.

San Francisco v. Carolina - If Gore can even get part way going the lame Panthers lose this one, poor Panthers how they long for Delholme again.

Denver v. Oakland - Thats the silly Broncos I know and love, Oakland's pass D is solid, and they like to run the ball, Broncos lose as they remember they are not that good again. (They will be, this is not their year)

Cleveland v. Arizona - Cleveland is for real, and I think they can pull off this shoot out of the Cardinals.

Chicago v. NY Giants - My head says the Giants right the ship, my gut says the ship has run aground.

Tampa Bay v. New Orleans - Saints meet who is going to the playoffs in your place this year, thats a good defense the Bucs have.

Cincinnati v. Pittsburgh - Barring another monsoon, the Bengals will make it a game now that they remember how, but I think the Steelers D is too good to overcome.

MNF New England v. Baltimore - Did the Eagles show how to beat the Pats? Naw, I get the feeling if there had been one more quarter played the Pats would have been up by at least two TD's. POINTS: 41

Never saw this thread until now, dangit! I need to check things out more around here. I know i'm way behind but can I pick 'em anyway? It makes the games I don't care about much more interesting, so here they are if I can:

Green Bay at Dallas-America's team vs Cap'n Oxycontin! J/K Ilove Favre, but I think the Cowboys will win this at home.
Buffalo at Washington - for Sean Taylor!
San Francisco at Carolina- bleh
Jacksonville at Indianapolis- keeping their second wind, will be a physical game
San Diego at Kansas City- troubles throughout for both squads
NY Jets at Miami- best chance to not go winless
Detroit at Minnesota- Can Kitna get them to 10?? Better take them down now while Peterson is questionable.
Seattle at Philadelphia- The Letdown game, after all that SNF adrenalin wears down
Atlanta at St. Louis- bleh
Houston at Tennessee- Titans aren't good
Cleveland at Arizona- Arizona is a comer
Denver at Oakland- Cutler should have a nice game
NY Giants at Chicago- If Manning comes to play, could be a good game. Give 'em hell Rex.
Tampa Bay at New Orleans- could go either way
Cincinnati at Pittsburgh- Excellent team to face for tuning up for the Pats.

New England at Baltimore : 36- I think the Ravens can limit them somewhat, but not as good as Philly did. Actually, 63 might be a closer number

Pittsburgh at New England
Indianapolis at Baltimore (Same with NY and Philly, I just have a good feeling)
New Orleans at Atlanta : 52

Surprisingly, the game that I'm most unsure about is the New England/Pittsburgh game. Pittsburgh biltzes enough (the most in the NFL) that Tom won't be as effective as always, but Pittsburgh's offense will have troubles too.

It's going to be how well Pitts runs the ball. They can do it. Time control. That's the key.

I think just as important (actually, more important than) as time of possession is the ability to get to Tom Brady. Pittsburgh is the number 1 blitzing defense, and that is going to disrupt Tom a lot.

There looks to be 2 games of interest: Indianapolis vs. Houston and Washington versus Minnesota. Houston can technically make the playoffs but they have to beat Indianapolis and Jacksonville these last 2 weeks to make it. Indianapolis' only interest in the game is they have a small amount of control over who might make the playoffs. If Houston loses these last 2 games they will have lost every game in their division ( the toughest division in football ). Minnesota and Washington have everything to play for, all other matchups are pretty worthless.

Except Buffalo and the Giants as well as the Eagles and the Saints. Both games have major playoff implications.

Even if the Vikings don't lose, but the Giants lose their next to (and the Saints win their next 2), the Vikings and the Saints get in.

The Giants could very well lose their next 2, as well. I mean, Buffalo isn't a bad team and we all know about the Patriots.

True. Eagles are out of the playoffs now, so I kinda downgraded the importance of that game. Buffalo/Giants is an important game, but even if Giants get in, they aren't going anywhere at this junction. And you missed picking Kansas City versus Detroit.
