Okay here's the skinny. Tomorrow is my Birthday, and all of my friends are out of town and I'm not really motivated to spend it with my Family. I was planning on taking the day off but my boss informs me that since he forgot to go on a portable job today he's going to go tomorrow and my day off is cancelled because he needs me here to run things. So here's the skinny. What should I do for my birthday after I get off work at 5:00. I am really not too sure as to what to do. Suggestions welcome. I can't go out and hammer drinks because I'd be going and doing it alone. But anything else is golden.

I turn myself over to your judgment.

Um..go with your family.

Spending a birthday alone sounds so depressing.

Spend time with your family & drink with your friends later.
Or drink with your family.

Yeah well my family is a worse option. Lets just say I don't want to spend an evening with those people and leave it at that.

Bake a birthday cake for yourself.

I'm making enchiladas and possibly a pie.

Haven't decided yet.

Go do something you wouldn't normally do...this way it makes the birthday a bit more memorable (whether it turns out good or bad).

But don't do anything to end up in Rokk's ER.

Y'don't have to do anything if you don't want to. I detest celebrating my own birthday so much I frequently don't tell people when it is. Do your own thing man. It's your day, spend it doing something you like to do.

I do the same. Just relax, kick back, and maybe so something you normally wouldn't like Rokk said.

Order really expensive, nice quality, take out. Have it delivered, and rent a great new movie or two.

That is exactly what I do.

As for the original poster's situation, just think "if it wasn't my birthday, what would I want to be doing?" and do that.

I wound up making Enchiladas and having Guiness. With birthday doughnuts for dessert. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Sounds like fun.

I had my birthday about 3 weeks ago, and I ended up spending it alone....

Probably one of the more depressing days I've ever had.
