Apparently Booker T has quit and Sandman was released.

I'll miss KING BOOKAH, but Sandman? Simply pointless without being able to use Metallica for his entrance and the beer drinking gimmick.

They didn't even USE Sandman. All he did was run in, hit someone with the singapore cane, and then look angry. I'm surprised they took this long to let him go.

In his ECW heydays, he used to come out to the song, drink his beer throughtout the crowd and they would go nuts. Once, it lasted almost the whole damn song.

I can understand releasing Sandman; they never were going to use him. However, releasing Booker makes no sense to me. He is one of the biggest guys in the business, why let him go? Again, Stephanie McMahon confuses the hell outta me.

The "Enter Sandman" intro was the best entrance ever.

Booker quit, he wasn't released. Big difference.

I see. When I heard that he was "released", it made me think that he was asked to leave. I wonder if Booker has plans to go elsewhere...

Booker was suspended, and at that point he supposedly quit. I've read that he wasn't too happy about his move to RAW, and there was apparently some grief between him and WWE because WWE was supposed to help out his wrestling school and promotion; they passed it over to help out the brother of a friend of a big cheese in WWE Corporate, or something like that.

From the article I read it sounded like he might just stick to running his wrestling school and clothing store he and his wife own and "retire" from pro wrestling. Apparently he hadn't wanted to wrestle past 40 anyways, and he's now 42.

Though it wouldn't terribly surprise me to see him show up in TNA, but I kinda hope he doesn't.

You know what, I kind of hope he does show up in TNA. It would be cool to see him team with Sting to run Adam "Pacman" Jones out of the promotion.

That whole era of ECW just was awesome. As Heyman said, "Sandman's matches? They were secondary to the experience. The fans were entertained with him just coming to the freakin' ring!"

But, if they weren't going to use him, might as well let him go be on the indy scene and do the entrance again.

And its not like the GREATEST champion EVER is coming back anyways......
