Here's a nice link to an interview with my dreamgirl Emmylou Harris.

Hold on, I've got to fix it.
There we go.
I love how someone like this has such a good sense of self. She knows where she was, she knows where she's at, and she knows where she's going. This chick is grounded, she's my baby she just don't know it. She rocks.
I just picked up her CD with Mark Knopler of Dire Straits. I haven't listened to it yet but I'm sure I won't be dissappointed. This is a chick who definitely deserves her own thread.

* * Tumbleweeds * *
I wanted to do this with the first country thread when no-one answered for a while.
But I think Emmylou Harris would get the joke.
Some videos to help those who don't know what she sings.

AlienFlanders, you are a link monster.
Speaking of Tumbleweeds, did they ever print the comic strip Tumbleweeds down under?
It appears that you, me, Velvetguru9 and Kiwigirl are the only regulars for these threads and I can't get Velvetguru9 to accept his lofty title. This is stymiing my running gag.:disappoin
You know, I was surprised that they didn't use Emmylou for that Jimmy Rodgers tribute album. She's usually a go to gal for that kind of thing.

Yes, I have a couple of collections of Tumbleweeds, I was thinking of finding a link and putting that up as well, but figured no-one would get it.

You know, I've seen that site before. My favorite character was Bucolic Buffalo. Love how they play Tumbling Tumbleweeds at the intro.

For those who want the country toned down a little I might recommend "Wrecking Ball" It has nice covers of Neil Young, Dylan and others.

Well since DTM has taken to closing his threads I'll say this here.
I was delighted to see Emmylou almost take it in the Rock Wars, though I was mildly appalled to see two of my country music allies vote against her!
I've always loved the song Rose of Cimarron whether it was Poco or Emmylou who did it. I like the western flavor of the song.
Still I accomplished my main goal in nominating it. I made a few more people aware of Emmylou.

Well, in case it helps anyone's Emmylou awareness, the CD she did with Mark Knopfler a couple of years ago (All the Roadrunning) is absolutely killer and not to be missed.
