Happy you're going with the first few games as I became a bit lost later on into things. :)

I'll join. I know I'm in a lot of games but if I've learned one thing, it's that I don't last long enough to not find lulls anyway. :)

Okay, we are at 10 players and counting. In a shameless bump, I'm launching my sign-up drive. If 1 person a day commits to the game, we'll have 24 or 25 by start day, which is the perfect number for the amount of roles I have. Its like one of those donation programs. "For just 1 sign up a day, you too can support Mafia games like this one." Think about it.

I know the GMs don't assign by request, man. I'm prepared to happily accept whoever I get and play the role to the best of my ability. :)

Oh, of course! I'd be insulted if that wasn't his power! :p

Though, that is a little boring. Since I'm a fan, I'd add on that he has to be lynched/killed twice, but the player wouldn't know that his vote doesn't count anymore once this ability is used (since losing a double = traumatic. That, and for balance.)

Dang, now I wish I had thought of this scenario. :laugh:

A shameless reminder that there is only 1 week until M3 begins. I have okay sign-ups so far, but another 10-12 people would really let me run the game I hope to play. If you're still on the fence, now is the time to step up. It'll be a good time, I promise. And there are robots. Who doesn't like robots?

The Doctors (well, okay, a slight exception for K-9 but even that bot got ditched with the annoying Sara Jane and left to rust. :) )

That's a link to the Wiki, where you'll find a pretty comprehensive description of roles and such. I'll give you a break-down of some of the basics here, too.

1) I will send you your role via PM before the game begins. It will define your character, your powers, your win condition, and any other special rules that apply to you.

2) Like in real life mafia, there are day and night phases. During the day phase, people post on the game thread (which will be created at the start of the game) and vote on the thread for who to lynch. During the night phase, the game thread is locked, and no posting may occur. If you have a night phase power, you will PM me with your intended action and target (as necessary). I tabulate all the results, post the night phase write-up, and re-open the game thread for the next day's discussion.

3) A critical point that is easy to overlook: No editing of posts in the game thread is allowed. Even if you make a typo or something like that, using the edit function is grounds for immediate removal from the game. The game thread is the "public conversation record" and cannot be edited.

4) No communication about the game is allowed outside the game thread unless your power specifically permits it. You may, of course, PM me at any time, since I am the mod. But no PM'ing or chatting with other players about the game while its going on.

There will be a big "standard rules" post that goes up. You can probably find it at the beginning of many of the other mafia game threads that are up. In the meantime, look over the Wiki if you'd like, and we are always happy to answer any questions.

Okay, one last bump, and then I'm done. Roles will be going out tomorrow (Sunday) night, so if you just died elsewhere or are otherwise looking to increase your mafia game play experience, this is the place. Sign-ups are still open. The game will launch late Sunday night, and proceed from there. So if you're on the fence about it, make the call and jump in. I promise it'll be a good time.
