YES!!!!!

We got back into wrestling earlier this year when we got a PS2. I picked up Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain and the kids really got interested. So we started watching again (right about the time Benoit died). And I've been saying every week, "They're really missing someone like Jericho." I think my wife is sick of hearing how Jericho-like HHH's promos have been since he came back.

Y'know, funny "coincidence" that last week there was someone in the audience with a "Y2J Save Us!" sign, pretty centrally located in the audience, then the little "Matrix" clip is titled "Save_Us"

Someone has suggest it might be D'Lo Brown, but at this time, no contract with the WWE, and quite frankly, that wouldn't get anyone excited.

There are mid-card guys that audiences love (like Jeff Hardy, Rob Van Dam) then there are guys who they might like, but certainly don't have to watch their matches (Val Venis, D'Lo Brown, most of the current roster......)

They're not going to sucker me in again. I finally broke free of their stranglehold almost a year ago. I just keep telling myself he's going to pop back in, promote his book, then be on his way again.

(And I'll just make sure I catch the return on youtube quick before it's taken down. Although hearing about this the other day, completely on accident, did trigger me to go and revisit his original WWF debut with the Rock. Man those were awesome times in Sportz Entertainment.)

I stopped watching wrestling just about when he lost his undisbuted championship and I just got tired of seeing him always getting put down, but I still kinda watched it in and out only for Y2J, but now, they may actually sucker me back in because the only wrestling stuff I have is the Jericho t-shirts, so I think I have some dusting off to do...lol.

If it is a promo for Jericho's return, I find it ironic that they're using the 'Save Us' theme, since they used Cena to send Jericho off. Are they implying that Jericho will save us from Cena's terrible character and wrestling? :cheeky:

Actually, I was thinking Chris would run with the "Save us" theme, as he originally joined the WWF to "save" it from itself.

From wikiquote:

"And a new era is what this once proud and profitable company sorely needs. Chris Jericho has come to save the WWF! You can care less about every single idiot in the dressing room, and espically this idiot in the middile of the ring. (points to the Rock) You people have been lead to believe that mediocrity is excellence, uh ah, Jericho is excellence. And now for the first time in WWF history, you have a man who can entertain you. You have a man who is good enough for you. You have a man you can make you jump off your chairs, raise your filthy fat little hands in the air and scream Go Jericho Go! Go Jericho Go! Go Jericho Go! The new millennium has arrived in the WWF and now that the Y2J problem is here, this company, from the front office idiots, to all the amateurs in the dressing room, including this one (points to the Rock), to everybody watching tonight will never will be the same again!"

Now, if he repeats something like this upon his return and points to Cena?

I'll never be the same again. I'd probably laugh myself silly.

Because it would be true.

Well, one of the candidates as being the man behind the "save us" promos just returned, HBK.

So, could it possibly be?

Can one hope for the return of Y2J?

The 3rd promo contained "The Second Coming."

I am getting very stoked that this is possibly Jericho's return.

I'd say it pretty much HAS to be Jericho.

I mean, it's either Jericho, or the New Hart Foundation, and Jericho just makes WAY more sense given all the biblical references. I mean...the Harts can be conceited, but I don't think they think they're Jesus-esque. :p

I think that countdown thing Front linked was some fansite thing that figured Jericho was going to be at Cyber Sunday.

Basis for this claim: WWE doesn't use google ads. Just probably someone trying to make a quick buck off the ads and the name.

I have a feeling this was mistiming is all. Late August/Early September, Jericho breaks off talks with TNA. Soon after, the promos start. Jericho might of been "Err, Vince? I do have all these committments through October I have to honor before I start."

Hence the dragging out of his return.

Just supposition, but I'm tuning in now just to see the promos.

But if this is all just to herald the return of Edge? I'll swear off wrestling forever.

I see nothing has changed in wrasslin'. They still drag this stuff out way too long.

Another thing I found amusing was how much fake and over the top wrestling looks after you've watched MMA for a few years. Uh huh. Sure. I'd say keep the paper bag and the testor's handy, because in the real world, a guy who didn't get over until he literally screwed his best friend's girl doesn't do much for me.

He can't cut a single memorable program, he is a very vanilla style of wrestling, and when his best work was as a tag team performer. And what, he's got like 6 different finishers, since the fans never have marked out for any of them?

Agreed.

I'm a Jericholic.

He was a superface by bashing Stephanie as a 6 adjective ho. Then he becomes the first ever Undisputed Champion ( I'm disappointed that he was overshadowed during this timeperiod ). And the Wrestlemania match where he fought Shawn Michaels gets better and better everytime I see it.

Yes, but the viral video angle has been dragged out for so long with so many people obviously aware to it, that theres only 2 possible outcomes:

1) It is Jericho, and I'm justified in being annoyed at how long this has been dragged out solely because Vince is mad it was figured out so fast.

2) Vince is REALLY mad it was figured out so fast he makes it something stupid and random, like...ZOMG, IT WAS HORNSWAGGLE! :tired:

It was predictable. But for once it was a fun predictability. And Jericho was in form.

"To save us from your frying pan smashed face, junior!"

And he definately got the crowd into it. I think that's what's missing, is the "sing along" type promo cutter. Jericho feeds off the fans, and the fans feed into Jericho's stuff.

The crowd was killed by the stupid Hornswoggle/Carlito job squad routine. But they definately popped when Jericho's music hit.

And all of them were into the "Never......................eeeeeeeeever!" routine.

I'm just glad he's back. It's a wrestler I can enjoy not only in the ring, but also on the stick. Besides Hunter and HBK, there are FEW in the WWE right now that I can say does both well.

Oh I know, and I was cool with it too, what I wasn't cool with it was King and JR's reactions, which were basically "ho-hum, yup, there's Jericho, just like everyone knew it would be." instead of JR spazzing out like a moron every time Stone Cold is around as he should have.

I was out of wrestling for about 3-4 years, getting back in not long before Benoit died. No, as I like TNA; but until they realize that bringing in a boatload of former WWE and especially WCW top stars ISN'T GOING TO GET THEIR FANBASE TO GROW.

Think about it. WCW went out of biz for a reason; yet TNA is pushing Sting, Jeff Jarrett (thankfully has been absent this year) Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, Booker T. Wait, wasn't those the top draws in WCW when it went under?

Why, I do think they were!

Plus, can they finally get an announce crew that didn't work WCW Saturday Night? Please? Bad enough its on a set, (which has its charm, but the sets for WCW looked very similar, and yet TNA likes "the look") but it needs some new blood instead of Mike Tenay and the other guy I can't stand enough to even learn his name.

Simply put, I watch the show with the sound down unless its during a wrestler's promo.

I refused to watch TNA once they had Angle. If I wanted to see WWE's old mid-card, I'd go but old WWE DVDs where there was at least some production value.

When TNA was first one Spike it was OK, for about 3 weeks, then it was all downhill from there.

I still prefer TNA to WWE, but the margin is getting rapidly smaller. I watch TNA for the same reason I watched WCW: for the midcard. The tag team and X-Divisions on TNA is really the only reason I stay watching it. The Heavyweight Division isn't too bad; I like Abyss, Christian, Samoa Joe, and the like, but I've had enough of Angle. TNA has only two hours of programming a week, and thirty minutes to an hour of that time is the Angle allocation. That's just ridiculous. However, he is better than Cena...

Heh...since I live and they shoot in Orlando I've gone to a few of the PPVs. For "Sacrifice" ( Joe/Styles/Daniels really good triple threat on 1st Sunday of last NFL Season ). For that PPV the first available seat they had was right next to the announcing booth. They were focusing the camera on them and my face is showing up on the jumbo screen and I'm trying to get off camera as smooth as possible but it was that packed. They were focusing the camera on them and my face is showing up on the jumbo screen and I'm trying to get off camera as smooth as possible but it was that packed. Then the guy hears something in his earpiece and asks me nicely to move. Like I *wanted* to sit there ;)

And is that "Codebreaker" on Youtube yet ?
Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtqX3Pztbdo) ya go.

Honestly, the "Codebreaker" looks to me like the sort of thing you'd see at about the halfway point in an old WCW Cruiserweight opener match. It's not bad, but it doesn't scream "the match is over" to me. Give me the Lionsault any day...and/or the Liontamer, please, not the Walls of Jericho.
