This thread is for talking about your most recent musical acquisitions, whether album, sheet music, or instrument. What have you been picking up?

My most recent buy: I ordered "Little Wing" by Snowy White on Amazon yesterday, so I'm looking forward to that in a week or so.

"Love Grenade" from Ted Nugent.

It would have been "Live At Hammersmith '79" by Ted Nugent, but I was cheap and didn't buy it. ;)

I've been spending more money then I should on CDs lately, mainly because of these threads. Thanks to Rock Wars I bought two Dead Can Dance CDs and a Neko Case CD.I also bought a Best of J.J. Cale, and a best of John Michel Jarre. I've also bought a lot of other stuff over the past few weeks.

Drop me a note if you're interested in some rare Dead Can Dance live stuff. I've got probably a dozen or more bootlegs of theirs that I've picked up over the years.

That's pretty danged brilliant. Kinda forces me to actually inventory all the junk I've picked up over the years.

Oh, I'm always interested in cool hard to find stuff. I have to lighten up on my spending though as I also just bought Fin Fang Foom and a soft cover copy of Samuel R. Delany's novel "Stars In My Pocket Like Grains of Sand". I also neglected to mention I accidentally bought a Roy Buchanon CD I already had.
Were you the one who nominated Dead Can Dance? I was unable to find the nominated CD but I bought Memento and Wake, I also bought the nominated Neko Case CD. Have you ever heard of Steeleye Span or Renaissance. Now We are Six by Steeleye Span had a feel of music that Robin Hood might have listened to and Renaissance was supposed to have a medieval sound to it also.

P.S. If you look on my Country Music threads I've given you a title for my court. I need to know if you accept.

Haven't bought anything since I got a Los Rabanes CD a month ago.

I have acquired a few more percussion instruments after moving in with my fiance. She had an Mbira and some other stuff that I hope to add to my own collection of percussion and use on a track sometime.

A week ago I got Nightwish's new album 'Dark Passion Play' as well as Katie Melua's new album 'Pictures', both of which I enjoy very much.

Then, of course, I got the gift of bagpipes on Tuesday.

Queensryche Mindcrime at the Moore (It is a DVD but what the hey).

Lobby Loyde's Coloured Balls - Ball Power - this is an Australia band from the 1970's, Lobby Loyde died earlier this year and they have rereleased his back catalog. History claims he inspired almost every Australian rock guitarist after him, including some AC/DC.

How close is the new Nightwish singer in style to the old one?

I just saw "The Future is Unwritten," a Joe Strummer documentary, and I immediately went out and bought his last album with the Mescaleros.

Dare I say I might like it better than the Clash albums I have...

are you speaking of Streetcore? i know there's been a more recent (posthumous) release. But Streetcore is great, esp. Coma Girl and the Redemption song cover

I am indeed speaking of Streetcore. It's the only one I got as yet. There's a soundtrack for the documentary available on iTunes that I might also get. And I should probably get some more Clash albums.

I bought 2 Tori Amos albums.

Little Earthquakes, her debut, and widely considered her best.

Crucify (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jftFhb0xnU)
Silent All These Years (Live) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4eAuxr4CRU)
Winter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnboUbOGDOM)
China (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDlR4DURZhE)
Happy Phantom (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ti3TumCKdE) I love this one so much.

The Beekeeper, widely considered her worst! (I love it though)

Sleeps With Butterflies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69k8Lh-3-CY) This was apparently quite big in the states.
Sweet The Sting (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8iF_GS1Bow)

Serj Tankian's Elect the Dead.

It's kinda proof that he made System of a Down what it was - it sounds like System 2.0

Best Track is a tie between Empty Walls and The Unthinking Majority

I picked it up a few weeks ago on DVD from the States but we only got around to watching it last night. R Kelly's Trapped in the Closet Chapter's 13-22.

Unintentionally hilarious once again.

Especially the character, Pimp Lucius who was mis-spelt as Pimp Luscious in the credits.

i've done a good job acquiring music this year. usually i make a two-volume best-of compilation in december. it's not quite time yet, and i'm already at about 3 discs of awesome tracks. i think it's been a great year for music.

Tomorrow I'll be able to pick up my copy of Izzy Stradlin: River from the mail center. Yay.

And my Page and Plant CD, which I just got yesterday, started skipping on the song Kashmir. Dammit all...

I just bought the souped up classic Transformers: The Movie soundtrack, some Classic Sinatra, and since it was cheap, I grabbed Dark Side Of The Moon, in an attempt to get into Pink Floyd. Never got into them much.

Also, I bought the old Jerky Boys movie soundtrack, because it has Tom Jones doing a cover of "Are You Gonna Go My Way.'

I've been trying to get the soundtrack for "I'm not There". My biggest obstacle thus far has been my inability to remember the name of the movie. I think I'll try again tonight.

A friend burned me a copy of "Until All Are One" The Vince DiCola instumental music from TFTM. Its sooo good in a cheesey 80s way much like the rest of the soundtrack. Its not something you can get in stores but I believe you can still get it online from Vince DiCola directly.
