Watching all the coverage these past couple days I think that the remaining MLB playoffs and World Series will be pre-empted in favor of 24 hours of Yankee speculation. Will Torre get fired? Will Rivera leave? Will A-Rod stay?

I have nothing against the Yanks and I know they will always get covered first because they have a huge market share, but was it really a big surprise that they lost to the Indians? Consider that...

1. The Indians had home field
2. The Indians have two Cy Young canidates
3. The Indians did have a better record
4. The Yankees haven't done well in the playoffs recently

I know the Yanks have a huge payroll, but making huge amounts of money isn't going to enable a player to hit a 95 mph fastball any better. I also really like Torre. He deserves better than this. I hope they fired George S instead;) .

no its not surprising... they have a habit of losing to teams with a lower payroll recently

Yes. Yes. No.

And A-Rod COMES HOME TO THE MARINERS! Along with SWEET LOU! GRIFFEY! RANDY JOHNSON, who goes back in time about 12 years! JAY BUHNER! LITTLE JOEY CORA! DAN THE MAN WILSON! EDGAR MARTINEZ! TINO MARTINEZ! It's 1995 all over again and this time we're going all the way! WOOOOOOO!

I must add that I think Torre made the right decision, and even as a "true" Yankee, the man deserves respect.
