CRITICAL HIT VOLUME 2 ISSUE 5 (http://www.hcrealms.com/temp/CriticalHit.2.5.pdf)

ALL ISSUES HAVE BEEN SENT OUT, IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE A COPY OR WANT TO BE ADDED TO THE MAILING LIST LET ME KNOW BY PM.

Good day my loyal readers,

Here we are once again with a great issue and a great event coming up. The Summer events will be over soon and we return to constructed play in the game of HeroClix. Excitment is abound and a whole new set of events with the Mutationsand Monsters set. Speaking of which our next issue will be split in two seperate issues. One will be sneak peaks and a few articles and the other will be straight articles.

As always we are looking for writers from every gameline and want to give everyone some quality articles on their lines of favor. With our brothers at INQUEST closing shop we now must fill that void and I am looking to make the magazine bigger and better than ever before. Come be a part of something grande as we look to getting bigger.

Well enough hearing me ramble, let's get to the magazine you all love!

Thanks team!

The "top 3 of the past" was a nice idea...I have my own ideas on which figures improved more than others...I cannot resist mentioning

Vet Invisible Woman, who has that nice 19 DV, plus invulnerability and other goodies to make her shine with the Fantastic Four ATA.

Exp Batman is somewhat of a liability these days with so many move+attack stealth-busters (many Thunderbolts, many Ultimates, etc.)

I never felt that Nightcrawler was worth his points, but feats like Swingline and Nanobots have improved this piece's playability.

I also liked the "unsung heroes LE edition". As many long-timers here know, I have a soft spot for using figures like Adrian Toomes and Fred J. Dukes...and newcomers like Henry Camp (notice a pattern?).

RP's object guide is a nice addition, and the checklist looks very cool.

All told, I think this is one of the better issues!

I believe the actual line for that song is:

I made up my mind, I ain't wasting no more time.

*small drum/guitar bridge*

Here I go again on my own.
Going down the only road I've ever known.

I can't remember the rest, though.

Edit: Though, now that I sit here and think about it, there is a part where David Coverdale yells "HERE I GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

Rock: Thanks again to you and your team for a great magazine/fanzine! Always look forward to it. :)

I'd like to make a suggestion, if that's O.K.: Viewing. I don't know about anyone else, but I only read CH on my PC. I don't print anything out.

The way I have my settings with Adobe, I can only view half the page at a time.

Is there any way to organize the prose and graphics so I don't have to scroll down as I read a column, then scroll back up to the top of the page, then down again as I read?

Right now CH is set up more as a "traditional print" magazine, when it's really a more modern computer based publication, with all the problems (and potential benefits) of being viewed on a standard monitor.

Thanks for your time and a great pub! :a-fist: Rock On!

That's funny you should say that. In the future, I plan on releasing a special issue in LANDSCAPE format. This way, you can read it on screen one-page at a time, without scrolling! Of course, you need at least 1024x768 resolution to be able to pull that off, but most people seem to be running at that res these days.

p.s. - what did you all think of the humorous tone of the magazine? I am especially proud of Tom Clix.

I really loved the Mox's look back at the early sets and (appart from Critical Miss I was expecting Venom) it is almost the same figures I would have chosen.

There is only a few other figures from the early sets that I still use and they are mainly for Themed Teams. Doctor Octopus is my first choice for a Spider-Villian team and Nightcrawler is still my favorite X-man.

Just wanted to let you know that the next Critical Hit is in development now and should be available in early November (if I am correct).

It's going to be different than what you've seen before, but I am sure you will all be very happy with it.

(Hopefully I'll have time to make some more DREAMCLIX)
